0:10 In his book "The Population of Palestine", american demographer Justin McCarthy details the evolution of the population in the area from 1877 to 1915 by religious groups. In page 10, there is a table that shows the info by year. In 1877 there were 127k muslims, 2.2k christians and 0.38k jews. In 1915, there were 600k muslims, 40k jews and 80k christians. By 1947, jews were 1/3 of the population. The jewish inmigration was accelerated by the zionist movement since the 1890s.

It's crazy how in depth the video is. It might have benefited from a longer run time to avoid speed running. Yet, with a modest 15 minutes, we got a thorough analysis of the history of Israel-Palestine via the borders. (Goes to show how important geography is when learning history.)
not really, it failed to cover or show true facts, context, and just generally cover around 70% of the things he mentioned, he downplayed the 1973 yom kipur war, failed to establish multiple facts like Israeli self defense throughout the conflict and palestinian militias causing the collapse of lebanon and a civil war in jordan

Love this video, as it provides the most unbiased coverage of the conflict I’ve ever seen on UA-cam. Somethings I would’ve like to see/hear more about was the troop composition during the wars (e.g.: the 1948 war, where both sides were actually evenly matched in terms of composition). Additionally, it might be worth mentioning the role of soviet/western influence throughout the years of this conflict.
Adding on here, I would have liked to hear more about the Oslo accords, as the standing PM at that time, Yitzhak Rabin, was assassinated not even a year after its proposal by a zionist. Following his death, Netanyahu succeeded him, a man who believes that Hitler was pressured in creating the Holocaust due to the influence of some Arabs. You can imagine how well he treated the Palestinians when he was (and is still) in power.
Yes, there are many shortcomings in the video, and making the video short is a little annoying. There are many important topics that were shortened or ignored, such as the reaction of the Palestinian people after Oslo, the two Palestinian intifadas, the founding of Hamas, and the condition of the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank and those who remain of them in Israel. I wish I had mentioned them.
Sorry but this video was biased in its many omissions. He skipped over a lot, not just the Palestine riots of 1929 which caused the Irgun and Lehi to be formed. He also skipped over the fact that the straights of Tiran and Suez canal were closed to Israeli shipping, and the Egyptians and Syrians were amassing troops on Israel's border, when Israel's Airforce did a "pre-emptive attack"in 1967. The fact that it was the British who brought the idea to the Zionists World congress for the Balfour declaration only after the communists took over Russia because they had faulty intelligence that the communists were ran by Jews, (that was the Mensheviks who lost to the Bolsheviks who were primarily not Jewish), and they thought by offering the Jews a state it would sway communist Russia to stay allied with the UK in WW1. It was also the UK and France who masterminded and convinced Israel to join them in the "Suez Crisis" a war to get back control over the Suez canal that Egypt had nationalized from British and French private companies. "Nasser's response was the nationalization of the Suez Canal. On 26 July, in a speech in Alexandria, Nasser gave a riposte to Dulles. During his speech he deliberately pronounced the name of Ferdinand de Lesseps, the builder of the canal, a code-word for Egyptian forces to seize control of the canal and implement its nationalization.[108] He announced that the Nationalization Law had been published, that all assets of the Suez Canal Company had been frozen, and that stockholders would be paid the price of their shares according to the day's closing price on the Paris Stock Exchange.[109] That same day, Egypt closed the canal to Israeli shipping.[110] Egypt also closed the Straits of Tiran to Israeli shipping, and blockaded the Gulf of Aqaba, in contravention of the Constantinople Convention of 1888. Many argued that this was also a violation of the 1949 Armistice Agreements.[111][112]" He also stated that Israel had violated United Nations General Assembly Resolution 181, when it was the Arab armies, and Palestinian Fedayeen who attacked Israel 1st violating 181. When Israel declared independence it was only in the areas they controlled already, after they were attacked all that of course went out the window, because Israel took over the areas it had won, and Egypt and Jordan took over the areas they had won in Palestine.....181 specifically called for the creation of both a Jewish and Arab Palestinian state, however Egypt occupied Gaza, and Jordan occupied the West Bank.
@GREENMASTER They did. In fact the term “Palestinian” was not generally used to refer to Arabs. Many Jews even identified as Palestinian. For example, the newspaper “The Palestine Post” was actually a Jewish newspaper.
@@animeXcaso In Islam, they define people as; 1) Muslim 2) Arab 3) Your Ethnicity. In this case, 3) would be Palestinian. The British and partially the UN, didn’t consider anyone anything other than Arab Ethnicity. Thank you for the video. A few comments: 1. There were massacre events of the Arab population against the Jewish communities prior 1936 (Jaffa in 1921 and Hebron 1929) 2. Most of the lands prior to 1948 were legally purchased by Jews from Arabs. Many times it has occurred that Arabs who sold territories to the Jews were murdered by their own communities for betrayal. 3. Most of the displaced Arabs on 1948 ran because their leaders told them that the Jews would kill them and that their displacement is temporary. Arabs that did not run and did not participate in the fighting still remain today - mostly Arab villages in the Galilee in the North. 4. 1967 - Israel opened the war after Egypt's president Gamal Abd al Nasser ordered the Egyptian army into Sinai, threatening Israel. 5. The Israeli invasion into Lebanon in 1982 did not happen in a vacuum, as PLO fighters regularly invaded and killed and sabotaged infrastructure in the North. 6. You said the Oslo Accords failed but did not manage to say by whom. According to former US president Bill Clinton, Yasser Arafat "disappeared" without signing the agreement. In the end, the territorial disputes were solved in all peace proposals. The one thing that kept on failing the negotiations is the Palestinian demand that the 1948 refugees and their offspring (today, more then 7 million people) go back, but not to the Palestinian state but into Israel itself - a demand that would topple Israel in terms of society, security and economy.

It really isn’t complicated. Pro Israel people say that to make it not so clear cut but at the end of the day it’s actually fairly simple. Israel is a colonial apartheid state.

Well organized and presented. A few remarks, if I may: 1. There was some kind of negotiation and agreement between the Jews and Arabs in the form of the Faisal-Weizmann agreement in 1919 (although some claim that it wasn't really serious). 2. The war of 1948 began actually on November 30th 1947, right after the vote on the partition plan in the UN. It started as a civil war in Palestine, and after the state of Israel was established (in May 1948) it expanded also to war with the Arab countries in the region.
another nitpick I would add is that zionism is in fact a colonial venture, regardless of how people felt regarding their safety before and after Nazism in Europe. the leaders of zionism, reformed zionism, their connections, their documented pledges and negotiations undisputedly display zionism as a colonial project seeking the Palestinian territory in order to build the foundations of a jewish state. the history of the JNF the largest owner of land in Israel would also confirm this. the purchase of land, labour and housing segregation and discrimination was strategically done to take over the territory rather than emigrate and settle in it.
Yes, and those Jewish “immigrants” were actually refugees who were ethnically cleansed from Arab and Muslim countries. There was a population transfer between Israel and all the Arab countries, just as there usually is in partition of land, such as a population transfer of millions of people when India was partitioned to create Pakistan.
Not only that - it was actually the Arab states who attacked Israel that told the Palestinians to leave their homes so that the Arabs could more easily invade Israel.

However, when there were some critical omissions that couldn't be merely a honest mistake (or just for the sake of brevity), they were always removing causes to the actions of Israel, e.g. that the militias Irgun and Lehi were only formed after 1929 Palestine riots that saw a lot of Arab violence against Jews. Judging by positive feedback, it is quite clear that the subversion was quite efficient.
Just because the brits occupied it doesnt mean there were no indigenous people . Britain illegally occupied Palestine and committed horrific atrocities to the Palestinian people. And then they brought jews from Europe because the Europeans couldn’t live peacefully and accept Jews they decided to kick all of them out and pass the guilt to Palestinians for what has happened to the jews it’s Palestineans who are treating jews so unfairly ! This debate is childish, no state deserves any land. Force is the only way a state can be established and maintained. If you want peace it will take blood, war & eventually compromise

@@Alex-d7f8h Of course it's better to go to the source material, books and papers. Clearly, the video quotes some, however its script either fails to understand the causality or intentionally misleads us. I've read more than just Wikipedia on this conflict. Whilst the video is well made, its strange in my opinion that it makes no mention of the Paulet-Newcombe Agreement of 1923 given how it is the agreement what determined how the British and French were going the divide the borders of the new Middle East in detail.
@@עומר_בוצר12324 too quickly this is the problem! everyone use the name “Palestine” name that been given to the region by the Roman empire after they conquered from the Jews Kingdom and it was far away back in history .

Could you make a video about the Second Italo Ethiopian war, and the Ethiopian "Arbegnoch" resistance that contained the fight against the Italians until Ethiopia was liberated?
Thank you for trying to explain the situation in Israel. I always thought “Palestinian” was an ethnic group, and not an actual place. Let’s pray that someday this conflict will be settled.
Wost is, recent DNA studies showed that Palestinians were ethnically similar to ethnic jews who always stayed in Israel, so it's more of a war between brothers and sisters
The ethnic group would be pretty much just called Arabs if not for the tactical utility of branding themselves "Palestinian". If they just continued calling themselves Arabs, they have plenty of Arab states to go to. If they call themselves Palestinians, their land claim makes more sense. And if they procreate a lot, it adds more weight to it.
Just because the brits occupied it doesnt mean there were no indigenous people . Britain illegally occupied Palestine and committed horrific atrocities to the Palestinian people. I'd give this video a grade of C+ , because although it avoids most bias, it ignores some important details, particularly the expulsion of 900,000 Jews from Arab countries in North Africa and the Middle East--which dwarfed the so-called 'Nakba' of Arabs leaving Israel.
@Jbkeditz Palestine is nothing but a lie brought into existence by the Muslim Brotherhood to delegitimize Isreal because the Arab world knows after losing a half dozen wars they cannot wipe Israel out conventionally.
@jotaro2690 LOL, no it does not. But you know what they say about antisemitic propaganda right? A lie can travel halfway around the world before the truth can pull its pants up. So I'm not at all surprised that some people have been fooled by the myth of Palestine.

I think its a huge injustice to ignore the fact that there were Jews living in that area for thousands of years, I mean, we are in the Christmas season and Christians are celebrating the birth of a Jewish man born in Bethlehem. In my opinion if Arab Muslims can have their own states like Jordan governed by Islsmic policies and Arab culture its also right for Jews to have a Jewish state. Arabs and Jews are both native to the region and each deserve a portion of it
There were Jews but they made up a negligible portion of the population during the turn of the century in 1900. Some reports say during this time Jews made up 3% of Palestine
No one would care if the Jewish country was established on the moon, Antarctica. The main problem is that there were people who were purged in the place where the Jewish nation was created.
I want to thank you for this well done, informative doc. There doesn't appear to be any bias, only facts. I encounter too many people that have feelings about without any informative context.
Few important things are missing - a million Jews were pushed out/fled from all the Arab countries in 1947. The Six Days (June 1967) war pre-planned for many months by Egypt, Syria and Jordan with their USSR allies, who supplied them with their best weapons. Jews have always lived in this territory and were constantly humiliated, attacked , murdered by the Muslim occupation since 700AD, and many Jews lived around Jerusalem and Hebron throughout history. Just to name a few.
nice video, this said some additinal details would have helped to - the pre ww1 immigration waves, including the origin of the kibbutzim experiments - the early XX century antisemitic sentiment - the overpriced land purchases (from the same landowners who LOVED to complain about immigration) - the direct descend of the IDF from those mentioned extremist militia - the ties the nazis had with the grand mufti - the clergy appeals to abandon the towns including threat to reject those who stayed as "traitors" - the manipulation of adjective "palestinian" passing fron regional to "arabs" only - the state sponsorship of antisemitic libel (the infamous russian protocols) under the disguise of antizionism - the reach of the muslim brotherhood and iranian theocracy - the settler-soldier nature of the "colonial" settlment outside Israel proper - the israeli factionalism who doomed Oslo (and gave us bibi) finally, a mention of which river and which sea everyone loves to tell left and right ACTUALLY are for everyone else: war is no sport

Exactly, it is one of the very very few unbiased videos
The Soviets had no role. The decisive role was for Britain, and after World War II, the role was taken by the USA and its support for Zionism.
Wait didn’t they call the Palestinians “local Arabs” before 1960 or 1980?
they were called arabs of palestine before the 1960, there was a call for an arab state
then time passes and concepts evolve
@GREENMASTER They did. In fact the term “Palestinian” was not generally used to refer to Arabs. Many Jews even identified as Palestinian. For example, the newspaper “The Palestine Post” was actually a Jewish newspaper.
As mentioned, Palestine is a name given to the region. Theres Arab Palestinians, Jewish Palestinians, and Palestinians from other ethnic groups.

Thank you for the video. A few comments:
1. There were massacre events of the Arab population against the Jewish communities prior 1936 (Jaffa in 1921 and Hebron 1929)

Well organized and presented. A few remarks, if I may:
Thank you for helping clarify what was possible reason for current conflicts in the region.
How I love that people only talk about the Nakba but always forget that there were over 800 thousand Jewish refugees from Arab countries

Wost is, recent DNA studies showed that Palestinians were ethnically similar to ethnic jews who always stayed in Israel, so it's more of a war between brothers and sisters
True ethnically speaking. But there are many Arabs in israel so even they are fighting their own religion.@@ad3l547
Bruh so they just fighting over religion @@ad3l547
The ethnic group would be pretty much just called Arabs if not for the tactical utility of branding themselves "Palestinian". If they just continued calling themselves Arabs, they have plenty of Arab states to go to. If they call themselves Palestinians, their land claim makes more sense. And if they procreate a lot, it adds more weight to it.
Jordan, Syria and Palestine, lebanon are of the same race (the Levant) but the jews they came from europe@@buthow1437
Very professional presentation sir!
Palestinians were killed and murdered on the hands of militarized jew men which the British army armed to fight the Palestinians! Millions of Palestinians we’re slaughtered women men children old and young . Palestinian lands and homes were taken under the watch of the British army that was helping militarize the Jews to attack Palestinians and kill them ! And drive them of their land .
I'd give this video a grade of C+ , because although it avoids most bias, it ignores some important details, particularly the expulsion of 900,000 Jews from Arab countries in North Africa and the Middle East--which dwarfed the so-called 'Nakba' of Arabs leaving Israel.
There is no such thing as an Arab state of Palestine.
It does exist
well there is
no matter how hard you deny it
@@animeXcasobefore the 1960s nope it was it's just came to existence bc the Arabs tried to beat Israel 3 times and lost 😂
Nicely done video

LMAO stfu. None is obligated to give up their land for others to create w homeland

Just to name a few.
nice video, this said some additinal details would have helped to
- the pre ww1 immigration waves, including the origin of the kibbutzim experiments
- the early XX century antisemitic sentiment
- the overpriced land purchases (from the same landowners who LOVED to complain about immigration)
- the direct descend of the IDF from those mentioned extremist militia
- the ties the nazis had with the grand mufti
- the clergy appeals to abandon the towns including threat to reject those who stayed as "traitors"
- the manipulation of adjective "palestinian" passing fron regional to "arabs" only
- the state sponsorship of antisemitic libel (the infamous russian protocols) under the disguise of antizionism
- the reach of the muslim brotherhood and iranian theocracy
- the settler-soldier nature of the "colonial" settlment outside Israel proper
- the israeli factionalism who doomed Oslo (and gave us bibi)
finally, a mention of which river and which sea everyone loves to tell left and right ACTUALLY are
for everyone else:
war is no sport
0:10 In his book "The Population of Palestine", american demographer Justin McCarthy details the evolution of the population in the area from 1877 to 1915 by religious groups. In page 10, there is a table that shows the info by year. In 1877 there were 127k muslims, 2.2k christians and 0.38k jews. In 1915, there were 600k muslims, 40k jews and 80k christians.
By 1947, jews were 1/3 of the population. The jewish inmigration was accelerated by the zionist movement since the 1890s.
Accelerated by the persecutions of Jews in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. The Zionist movement allowed the Jews to escape death and humiliation and defend themselves.
Forgetting that Israel used to be Judea, and was given the name “Palestine” by the Roman occupiers.
The Pharasees lost. The Sanhedrin forsook God and his son.
Bar Kokhba looked not to Adonai Elohim or Yeshua, but to militarism instead of rendering onto Hadrian (Caesar) what is his.
Their coming back is a deception. Don't trust them, these Germans (Ashkenazi) are crafty
Forgetting that America belonged to the natives before European settlers came

wow that was quick
This Video was Just misleading.
Displaced. The Jews paid forr the land. Id hardly called that displaced.
Yes in 1948 they paid for all the land and actually gave the Palestinians a gift basket on their way out. Bruh read a book
They didn't buy more than half the country. The UN gave them that ignoring the Palestinian people how lived there in the process.
And buying a land doesn't give you the right to make a new country on it this is not who it work.
If all the Muslims in the USA tried to make a new caliphate in some US state how do you think the Americans will responded to that?

Arabs didnt want to start the war , rather they were fueled to.
Israel have a side?
I wish the video was as good as you say. There were serious flaws in the chronology. Irgun and Lehi are mentioned as if they initiated the violence without anything to radicalize them, like events of 1929. There is more bias like this, supporting pro-Palestinian view on causality. No idea if it was a rogue researcher or team effort, but I lost faith in this channel.

The video was great, however it would have been much better if it were to be longer, especially to show more of Netanyahu adding Israeli settelments in West Bank, and to explain more about Hamas' attack on Israel in October 7 and more about why Israel and Egypt put up the blockade.
