I have been struggling with learning how to longarm. I am a new beginner. Your voice is easy to listen too. Your teaching skills is outstanding. I have learned so much from you. Thank you.
Awesome! I've been using QCT since it first appeared. I'm an Apple girl, but had to get a Microsoft tablet - Surface Pro. I normally unzip the files on my apple, look for a usb stick and batch import from there. You've given me some very useful tips. Thank you very much!!❤
Great video!! I've been purchasing patterns and moving them vis usb stick, and not all of them work. I think you answered my problem. I will probably need to watch tis numerouos times til I remember it all. I am a Mac person who had to buy a Surface Pro tablet to use on my Q'nique longarm. (I hate windows) I love you!
Wow, this video was very well explain and I was able to follow and understood all that you explained. Plus I don’t even have standup long arm to use this information on.
Thanks so much! That is great information! I did not know how to import patterns until now. My machine and tablet are exactly like yours so I am excited to get started. Kathy Barnhill in North Carolina
I have a question. Isn't it dangerous to import or download patterns directly to your tablet unless you have a way to run them through some sort of a virus check? I do not have this system but do have the Prostitcher by HQ and we are told to never connect your tablet directly to the internet for this reason.
I have a subscription to Norton 360 which includes licenses for 5 devices and I've added this device into my subscription. You shouldn't have ANY devices connected to the internet without a strong online protection for virus prevention and safe browsing. That said, the advice you received is incorrect about never connecting it to the network. All computers function much better when they are connected to the network. 'Mother Microsoft' continually pings all her children to make sure they are functioning properly, updates are applied as needed and security patch notifications are made. I leave my tablet connected to the network and turned On 24/7 and only put it to sleep when I'm not using it. It performs flawlessly. I worked for the Air Force in Cyber Security for 17 years so I know it's important to leave all your computers on 24/7 and make sure they are adequately protected. One thing I didn't show was to put it in Airplane Mode before you begin quilting to prevent any background activity that might interfere with the software.
I think I remember Grace saying NOT to download to your tablet, rather download to your computer, then use a USB to transfer to your tablet. Am I remembering wrong? I have QCT5Pro. I'm not totally set up yet, but don't want a bunch of mistakes.
They say that because most users don't know the file system structure and it can be hard to move the designs around into the software from a direct download. That's why I take a couple of minutes at the beginning of this video to explain how to find the downloaded file and move it.

Yes, once you figure out the folder structure on a Windows computer, it's makes things easier on all of them!

This is a great video. I haven't tried it yet but does it work on Beginnings, too? I don't have Pro.
Yes, it works on all versions.
