I feel better knowing that legendary SFX artist Tony Gardner is working on this new film! At least we know that The Tarman and the other zombies will look faithful to The Original film.
Tony "Made his bones" if you will pardon the pun, in creating the half corpse for the original. He did it all himself as there was no money to hire a crew, and he was just starting out. After the industry saw what he did , he opened his own shop and has been working steadily since the 80s. A really super talented guy!
@@Valkonnen I love how these guys keep coming back to their zombie roots. Like how Greg Nicotero started working for Tom Savini on Day of the Dead then ended up making the zombies for The Walking Dead.
@@devinflint5554 I know both Greg and Tony as we are all in the same business. Greg, while he has started KNB was more of an administrator and not an actual makeup artist. He knows how to apply prosthetics, but the artwork was left to Kurtzman and Berger for the most part. Tony is an actual artist who started at Rick Baker sweeping the floor and is a very good "Artist". Gordon Smith was similar to Greg, He ran FXSMITH out of Canada and did all of Oliver Stone's films and pioneered the silicone prosthetics that we use today. Gordon himself, never made a prosthetic, detailed one or even applied one., Ever. he was like a Stan Winston type, who instead of doing work himself that would just look OK, he hired the best artists in the world to work for him and execute the designs.
@@Valkonnen Wow, that's all very interesting stuff! It's cool that you work in the industry. Do you know the people from the Wicked Makers channel at all? I know at least one of them started in that field.
Wicked! Thanks for sharing this stuff! Stoked for this project. The teaser looked so cool I had to recreate the opening shot in Blender for my insta - turned out great if I do say so myself ;)
There is a difference between a reboot and a remake. A remake comes from a place of love and respect for the art and the original film. John Carpenter's The Thing is a great example of a remake. A reboot, on the other hand, is often a gamble on nostalgia-a cash grab made with ROI as the primary focus. These films are frequently stuffed with 'fan service,' essentially saying, 'Hey, remember this thing you liked in the original? Here it is again. Aren't we awesome?' It's insulting as fuck. Over the last 30 or so years, I have repeatedly hoped for an amazing, faithful remake, only to be massively let down again and again. Forgive me if this has made me highly skeptical and incredibly cynical about the state of the film industry.
i heard this was gonna be one of them taurus entertainment things where they just got a title, but with tony working on it then it could actually be good and tarman is as iconic as jason voorhees, in my opinion and deserves to come back
We knew Tony would be able to bring us the Tarman we knew the fans would want in a sequel with his experience in the franchise and being top of his craft!
@@SpaceGhost2733 Wow, how weird that someone goes out of their way to be a sarcastic buzzkill on the internet… strange, odd… almost like they’ve never heard of discussing cool horror trivia before. Must be exhausting being that insufferable all the time.
The top jaw and teeth section gives me ape or chimp vibes. I feel like it shouldn't stick out so much and should be a little more flat and flush with the bottom jaw section. Like the teeth should line up more and there should be less over-bite, but just my opinion. Excited to see how this project turns out! Best zombie movie of all time! Idk if anyone can top the original Tarman bc he's so iconic, but excited to see what ya got!
@@withanOProductions Hearing the thought process sounds like you guys really care about making sure it's done proper, and I appreciate that. That first bust he showed tho 👏🤟👍 I'm just happy this movie keeps on living 🖤
@averyryan31 ...there is only one Tarman and he came from an Easter egg. But if they're going in the direction of an all new Tarman, they should make all the zombies tar zombies. Might as well go all the way.
Wooooow another remake!!! Cant wait to see another re-original story, i think ill stick to the Originals. The special effects back then still had meaning, but thats my opinion, everybody has to feel free to watch what they want. #mo-re-brains
Tar man still makes me anxious. Those teeth in this new one are looking to broad. And the front teeth should be more " receding gum line and thinner. Hopefully well stained.
His movements weren’t right for a decomposed corpse jammed in a barrel for 20 plus years this guy was doing the typical monster stuff he always does that’s why Allan was so memorable and terrifying he moved like he was about to fall apart if he moved to much one way or the other like he says balancing a broom in the palm of your hand yes I know this is not the same corpse so it is different but the shit he is doing with his arms and the walking in the trailer is not how it should look
It looks like he was out for a Sunday afternoon stroll! The way Tarman moved in the original was terrifying, we had never seen anything like that, especially with zombies.

BRAINS!!! I'm glad Tarman returns.
The sculpt looks amazing, I really hope this project turns out to be great. I can't wait.
Literally, one of the most influential screen zombies, ever the first one I can think of that said brains on film
What did it influence?

An ignorant comment on you tube
@ What exactly did it influence? If it is the most influential, then you must be able to tell me.
@ Your silence is deafening. Why can't you answer the question?
Good hire for that actor. Looks like a good sport for all these shenanigans. Looking forward to this flick
Hopefully they are putting the same work and effort into a good story/script.
this is SOOOOO cool to get such a close up bts look like this !!!
Just made a beat tape last year with tarman as the cover. I’m so EXCITEDDD.
This movie comeback is gonna be a sleeper. It will catch so many people by surprise! Can’t wait.
This is so fun to see.
I have all of the Return of the Living Dead movies and enjoy watching them whenever I can. Great movies.
This is awesome 👌 👏
Ok, that working title is freaking awesome.
"Project: Brain Freeze."
As a child when this first came our I am beside excited for this movie God I hope it doesn't disappoint

This is excellent marketing for the film. It's just too bad i have to wait so long to see it 😢

I'm glad they avoided casting someone creepy to play the Tarman
Dude, the dude playing Tar-Man is the same dude who played Kurt Barlow in the new HBO Max version of Salem's Lot!

Who's the new guy portraying the new Tarman that's going to attack Pennsylvania in the movie?
Alexander Ward
@TimRomanPhotography Thank you. 😊
It’s another sequel with the same title as the original…sigh…just saw the teaser and it does look awesome
Umm...is it just me but... the concept skull for the Tarman looks like the skull of Homer Simpson! 😁
Gave me chimp vibes like planet of the apes. The first bust he showed looked closer to the original imo
How does the Tarman still exist? ...he got his block knocked off by Burt. Not to mention nuked ...by Burt.
My guessing it’ll be another tarman that looks similar but different one from those cans

The same way he was in pt 2 and 5. Just recycling a popular character sadly.
I would love to know how they obtained the rights of tarman ?
I love the deep sea dive suit.💦💓

After watching that terrible teaser trailer, Tony should take over as director of the movie as well.
