I love Arch Enemy! Saw them live in 2004 when Angela Gossow was the lead vocalist. Super sweet gal but a total demon on stage, wow! This band helped me get through some super tough times as a teenager and in my early twenties. Thank you for giving them a go here, Geebz.
Arch enemy is a great band that I haven't taken my due time to go through completely, but Jeff Loomis, who is the blonde haired king playing guitar in this video, was in a band called nevermore for many years before he joined arch enemy. They are an absolute must listen. Dead Heart in a Dead World is a classic progressive metal album.
OMG Geebz thank you so much for doing that song. Hope you truly enjoyed the suggestion. Alissa White-Gluz is actually from Montreal and i had the chance to go see them live....what a performance. As for the keyboard, it's a track pre-recorded by the drummer Daniel Erlandsson. Also if you want a very different song from them, their very first ever ballad, Reason to Believe.
It's called melodic death metal for a reason. The melodic part really is what makes the genre work for me. Lots of others have suggested more by Arch Enemy or The Agonist. I would like to recommend Be'lakor and Countless Skies. Australian and British melo-death respectively. Both really work best with a studio recording, don't go straight to live. They got a progressive edge and you gotta enjoy the composition here.

This is one of the only UA-cam videos I remember ever seeing with zero dislikes. That speaks volumes for not only the channel, but also the band and their fans.
One of my favorite parts of AE (and Melodic Death in general) is how they move the melodic line off the voice, but keep it present in the music. It's a lifeline through the music while they turn the voice into much more of a rhythm instrument. Also, I personally prefer women screamers to men as they can be a bit more intelligible -- Once Human and Frantic Amber are other great ones to check out. Also, check out Nemesis or Ravenous from Arch Enemy to get a feel for Angela Gossow. Angela is a false chord screamer, as opposed to a fry screamer (Alissa). A great choice for the live perfomance side of Arch Enemy is the early Tyrants of the Rising Sun tour version of "Nemesis" live in Tokyo 2008 with their former singer Angela Gossow who retired from the band officially and still manages them. She is one of the great first generation of female growlers and had a huuuge impact on (esp. female) death metal vocals thereafter. I don't actually know if they use slight key or guitar layer backing tracks live today, like Jinjer and many many others (nothing bad at all, you have to be good to use them live anyways), but at that point in time it was pretty pure - 2 guitars, bass, drums, vocals. Still fantastic. One of the best live performances I have seen - no matter what genre. And that was the last song of their set, yet the performance and the energy of band and audience is unbelievable.
You're probably not going to believe it but in a recent interview Jeff discussed this and his new solo record. He says his new stuff is going to be more "melodic and memorable" than technical. Arch Enemy has had an impact on him because this is what Michael Amott has been saying for decades.
Wow!! I need to comment before I watch. I’ve seen this video like a hundred times! I love this band with Alisa White-gluz!! The whole band has a powerfully beautiful sound! Love melodic death metal! Another track I would recommend is “War Eternal”.
Now that we had Arch Enemy it would be cool to visit other melodic death metal bands: In Flames (songs: Moonshield, Pinball Map, Cloud Connected, Deliver Us, I Am Above), Dark Tranquility (Atoma, Forward Momentum) , At The Gates (Slaughter of the Soul). Not directly melodic death metal, but swedish: Avatar would also be really cool, for example "A secret door" or "The eagle has landed". Love your videos!
arch enemy was another band that got me back into metal, back then their singer was one Angela Gossow that was already a legend for being one of the first women to do growling vocals, and the band was on the top of the Melodic Death Metal scene, other band that is super hook-happy on the same vein that I think you'd enjoy decomposing is Be'lakor, their album Stone's Reach was one that stayed in my playlist for a long while. Their remaster version is great too to talk about their engineering choices.
Really cool that you're checking in arch enemy! I highly recommend the song Demonic Science. They have versions with two different singers, one male and the latter recording with the prior female singer to the one in this video, both singers are great! Peace!
I´m not so big fan of this particular genre, but Arch Enemy is class ! You just can´t ignore those delicious hooks they put in their songs. No one does that better. This is quite good example of what makes Arch Enemy tick, that chorus sticks in your head and stays there :-)
Please react to: Skindred- Nobody Billy Strings- Dust in a baggie Pigeons playing ping pong- Melting Lights Less than Jake- Science of selling yourself short You rock, love the videos, keep em coming!
My favorites from "old" Arch Enemy with their previous singer : - Nemesis (ua-cam.com/video/ET7TI_PbeFg/v-deo.html) - My Apocalypse (ua-cam.com/video/vWuYyxr8LdI/v-deo.html) - Dead eyes see no future (ua-cam.com/video/BIKL3HTpAwU/v-deo.html)
Jeff Loomis their guitarist used to be in an amazing band called Nevermore, highly suggest the songs This Godless Endeavour or Enemies of Reality. Some amazing work. Also, if you're looking toward some melodic metal, Children of Bodom should be on your list. Their song Kissing the Shadows has possibly some of the best solos out there which is even more amazing as the lead singer/ guitarist was only about 21 when they wrote the album. He sadly passed at the end of last year aged only 41 and it was a devastating loss to the metal community. He inspired so many. RIP Alexi Laiho
Also check out Sinergy-Spit On Your Grave if you want to hear Alexi use his fullest guitar potential. Able to focus completely on lead guitar and solos the Sinergy stuff (with his wife Kim on vocals) is some of the most insane guitar work you will ever hear.
fantastic band with a catalogue spanning three singers. I have enjoyed each singer for what they bring, although i think you started in the right place. cheers for the react
Great to see an expert like you sir going through an epic melodic death metal song. I think people with a more traditional background, sometimes miss the greatness of these performers.
This genre, melodic death metal, was a big part of a certain time in my life (nothing bad). I had just dropped out of college and got a job at Geek Squad where there was a huge metal head working. The store opened at 10am but he and I would typically get there at 7am to start fixing computers so for three hours we would have Pandora just blasting since there were only a couple other people in the store. Before, the only metal I knew was Avenged Sevenfold but my coworker, Ryan, got me in to In Flames and other bands and I fell in love and went wild. For a good year or two this is the only music I listened to. In Flames, Dark Tranquility, Insomnium, Amon Amarth, Soilwork, Disarmonia Mundi, Sonic Syndicate (now called The Unguided), Blinded Colony, and so many others. I don't listen to any of those bands nearly as much anymore (I'm more of a prog guy now), but when I do I can't not think about Geek Squad and playing World of Warcraft (I was playing about eight hours a day back then all while jamming to that music nonstop). It was fun times for sure, that time in between school and "real life" aka "adulting".
I am so glad you mentioned Disarmonia Mundi. They dont get anywhere near the love they should, especially for fans of melo-death. Rise to fall is another largely unknown band.
Whenever you're faced with a challenge or doing something strenuous, exercising or whatever, it is always helped with the music the likes of what you just wrote there. 😁🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥
Dude with blonde hair. Jeff Loomis was in an awesome band called NEVERMORE. Check out.. "Emptiness Obstruction" & "The Heart Collector" Ps.. What kinda coffee you drink? Thanks for all you do !!
More Arch Enemy please! :) Also would love for you to check out The Black Dahlia Murder.. Blood in the Ink and On Stirring Seas of Salted Blood are a couple of my favorites!
Woohoo! Now that you've heard Arch Enemy, it's time to check out Dark Tranquillity - Iridium :) I promise no regrets, and if you enjoyed this genre, Dark Tranquillity are really one of the fathers of it. Fun fact: Alissa White-Gluz (the vocalist of Arch Enemy) actually played with her old band The Agonist on a tribute album dedicated to Dark Tranquillity. They covered Monochromatic Stains which is an older (2002) song by DT. Thanks for the great content, cheers!
Yes Arch Enemy, so great indeed. I'm sure you're flooded with requests, so I hope mine doesn't get lost in the shuffle because this band deserves your time for sure, they are 'Once Human' & the song I recommend is 'Scar Weaver'. The vocalist 'Lauren Hart' is so powerful, & their sound is like Arch Enemy meets Machine Head and so interesting! So highly recommend! They are from Los Angeles, California, founded in 2014 by music producer and former Machine Head/Soulfly guitarist Logan Mader. ua-cam.com/video/4740miichAI/v-deo.html
An interesting thing about this song is that the middle section with that cool, heavy tremolo picked riff (that leads in to the whispering section). Is in a different tuning than the rest of the song. Not sure how they pull this part off live, but there is a dropout for a few seconds before that riff starts so maybe Amott just switches guitars. Either way it allows for a really cool sounding riff. Not something you can do often, but it the music allows for it, presents some pretty cool options.
You need your own radio hour, bro. Line em up, knock em down. I know that is a lot of committment, but hell, it is at least a good idea. Promoting all these great bands, engaging with the listeners and fans, yourself learning and growing. It's good shit.
Amott and Loomis are 2 of the best guitarist around. Agree with many others in the comments, you should check out Arch Enemy with Angela on vocals, particularly Ravenous. And definitely try Nevermore, either The River Dragon has come or the Heart Collector, Warrel Dane had one of the best, most unique metal voices.
What about something by Nevermore? Their song This Godless Endeavour is one of their most popular. They have a lot of great songs but this one seems to be a good way in. Jeff Loomis (the blonde guitarist in this video) was the main song writer
That is so true! When I was a young dude, the only chicks that were into metal, were the ugly and fat ones. Definitely not the style that you would want to associate with your own daughter. So naturally, I do my best to educate my daughter about the virtues of being metal and not being fugly.
@@Apollyon.King.of.the.Locusts you can do a thousand times better if you learn to not raise your daughter with these misogynistic standards and actually worry about her education, values, health, success, etc. rather than if her father thinks she's hot. she'll be held back and miserable and only find worth in her physical appearence if you raise her that way, and i don't wish you ill i only wish for you to have a good relationship with your daughter and to raise her to value herself as a human being. you have the capability to do that
Awesome reaction. Regarding the melody. It’s very common for melodic death metal but Arch Enemy are well known for beautiful melodies. They build most of their songs around an amazing melody.. You will see what I mean if you try pretty much any of their tracks. Perhaps try Dead Eyes see no future or Enemy Within!! Thanks again ❤️
Strapping young Lad - Almost Again Please react to this you will love it. some amazing guitar work, an unbelievable vocal performance from Devin Townsend and some of the best metal drumming there is and my favourite groove of all time!
That was a good one! Keep on doing those, just don't burn out on the tempo. If you're willing to do more Melodic Death Metal (which you should :) ) I highly recommned: Dark Tranquillity - Iridium, Be'lakor - Abeyance, In Mourning - The shrouded Divine & Insomnium - Weighed Down With Sorrow.
I didn't know they replaced Angela. I honestly wasn't a big fan of her but now that they have Alissa I might have to follow Arch Enemy again. I lover her, favorite female harsh vocals
You are really running the gamut of genres day to day, and I love it! If you're up for looking at something a little peeled down, I'm really curious to hear what you think about '68, a 2-piece rock duo, with a lot of guitar pedal work to keep the sound frequencies filled up. Some notable songs by '68 are "Life is Old, New, Borrowed and Blue", "The Workers are Few", and a newer one of theirs with a super cool video is "Bad Bite". Thanks for the vids as always!
Hmmm - interesting you've gone for some of the later work with Alissa. I grew up with Angela era Arch Enemy - I'd love to see some 'classic' tracks like Fields of Desolation, Nemesis, My Apocalypse, We will Rise, Revolution Begins, Blood on your hands, Vultures, Bloodstained Cross, Yesterday is dead and gone, No gods no masters etc. What makes Arch Enemy for me is that blend between aggressive, ugly and breakneck riffs in the verse and breakdown sections with soaring melody and harmonies in the choruses and solos. I'd also recommend Alissas old band 'The Agonist' - particularly Buisness suits & Combat boots, Thankyou Pain, And their eulogies sang me to sleep and Birds Elope with the sun.
Geebz! The song Arch Enemy from the band Everything Everything is phenominal. I think you would really appreciate those guys if you dont already know them. very sophisticated sonics and arrangements imo.
Arch Enemy is still flying the flag of Melodic Death Metal to this day and for good reason: their songs in a sense are very traditional: verse chorus verse chorus solo chorus stuff. And I do mean hooks: they almost never do clean vocals or keyboards yet their chorus parts are very memorable because of those guitar melodies while the vocals follow the tradition of death metal of giving you the lyrics, rhythm and distortion but not actual vocal melodies. But if this band has persisted as one of the top bands being this seemingly aggressive is mostly because the instrumentation choices don't take away from their very approachable song structure and composition. EDIT: Also as far as I'm aware they have no official keyboard player: they just have the samples and I think Daniel (Their drummer) just triggers them to go with the song click but to the P.A. There's lost of metal bands that do this for tours and works relatively well.
Geebz, you really have to check Nevermore! This is the old band Jeff Loomis' band (2nd guitar). I highly recommend This Godless Endeavor and Dreaming Neon Black by them!
check out Nemesis Live both 2008 Tokyo and 2016 wacking (both singers are vegans) the song I like the most is "reason to believe" (a little calmer song but if you want a little more tempo then "Race" is a suggestion)
I'd personally love to hear your reaction and a breakdown of We've Got a Situation by The Damned Things, in part because it's a supergroup made of members from Anthrax, Every Time I Die, and FallOut Boy. But also because it's a great straight ahead blues rock song that really shows those musicians in a much more accessible genre than you usually hear them in. But also because I know that you would get a real kick out of the music video
Please, for the love of god. In Flames and Insomnium. Fun Fact, the current Opeth guitarist was in Arch Enemy prior to joining Opeth for Watershed in 2008.
In Melodic Death Metal, a really great band to check out, with insanely good instrumentation, is Mors Principium Est. Their last album, Seven, is full of amazingly well written songs. Andy Gillion, the guitarist and composer for the band, also has solo material that is incredible. It would be awesome if you could check out either of those!
Now that you’ve heard Jeff loomis play, you need to hear some things that Jeff loomis has written. You need to react to the band nevermore. I’d recommend starting off with the song This Godless Endeavor. It’s one of my favorites. You could also listen to something off of Dead Heart in a Dead World like others have suggested. Edit: Their vocalist, Warrel Dane had a pretty unique voice for the genre. Warrel and Jeff really paired together well in their sound.
Check out their songs Reason to Believe and Avalanche to get a hint of Alissa's cleans (only background in the latter, but it's a good song to check out in terms of layering in the production). Arch Enemy has traditionally never used clean vocals, particularly with their first couple singers, but Alissa is too good of a singer for them to not take advantage of that skill. Her cleans shine more in her other projects. You should also check out Arch Enemy songs with their first iconic female vocalist, Angela Gossow. She honestly has one of the most powerful growls ever! Nemesis is my favourite song from that era, and it's also filled with hook bombs :D
It was Michael's idea to use her cleans, believe it or not. They're good. Her heavy vocals are the bomb though. Being in AE she's getting tons of heavy vocal practice. She sounds way heavier nowadays than a few years ago.🤘🤘🤘 Freaking demon...
Arch Enemy do use strings/pads etc quite a bit. If you want to hear one of their best uses have a listen to Time Is Black. The string sections in that sound like a Bond theme.
My dream is that Arch Enemy can write a soundtrack with music like this one day. It would be cool. Their music does transcend above most movie plots though so the movies rarely deserve it though, haha. It would be good for business and publicity.
Jeff Loomis (blonde guitar player) is the former member of Nevermore. You must see him performing in Nevermore, I suggest This Godless Endeavor is the one you should decompose.
Hey if you want a fun challenge you should check out 'The Serialization of Cruelty' by The Flying Luttenbachers. They split up while the bandleader was writing the music so he just played everything himself.
The short version of growling technique is, it's an extension of vocal fry and belting, with the rasp as a kind of distorted vibrato that happens in the mouth instead of the throat. She places her growls forward so the diction is clearer than someone doing more throat or chest style growls. The key is, it shouldn't hurt your throat or vocal chords any more than normal singing if done correctly. Spencer from Periphery is a big, big advocate of treating it as singing, and he seems do to just fine - a big reason why he can snap back and forth between the two. "Ruin" by Lamb of God is a fantastic showcase of multiple placements of the growling style, plus Randy Blythe is basically at your vocal pitch, so it may be easier to wrap your head around. He is a big influence on me singing in the car, anyway!
There is a vocal chanel called kardavox academy in UA-cam only for death metal. He does reactions and break down vocal techniques. Check it out if you are into extreme metal. He is a vocalist himself and has done some superb reactions to anaal nathrak, slaughter to prevail, infant annilator, cattle decapitation.....
@@JobForAMaxboy then there's Death's lead singer (R.I.P.) Death were really prog death metal pioneers, complete with intelligent lyrics. Dethclok's Gene Hoagland was their drummer. 'Individual Thought Patterns' is beautiful.
I like the post growl albums from Opeth. If you haven't seen them live, and you ever get the chance, do that. The tightest live sets I've ever seen. Ackerfeldt is a freakishly talented musician and composer, Tool are my fave, but ackerfeldt has vocal talent beyond maynard, but Maynard's lyrics and delivery are hard to come near.
Love your channel. Just subbed, but been watching your stuff for a while now. Great stuff. BTW, after your Primus decomposing, I would like to suggest you check out The Claypool Lennon Delirium. You're going to love it. Blood and Rockets or Little Fishes are the songs.
In terms of Arch Enemy I'd recommend War Eternal, but from melodic death metal in general I simply LOOOVE Insomnium - While We Sleep, it's a freaking masterpiece
Death metal is like a dialect. The more you listen to it the easier it is to understand.

Her work with The Agonist was awesome. A decomposition of one of their songs would be great!
HUH 😂 I broke my hand when I saw Arch Enemy the last time they played in Worcester MA
Arch Enemy really needs to let Jeff Loomis off the leash. He can do _so much more_ than what he's doing now.
I haven't really follwed AE since he joined. Is he involved in the songwriting? Would be a waste just to utilize him as a lead guitarist.
Completely agreed
He brings 99.99% accurate live playing. Their live stuff is super tight now. It was pretty good before too though.
ofc he can do more but would it be Arch Enemy still if he he did all what he can
You're probably not going to believe it but in a recent interview Jeff discussed this and his new solo record.
Edge of Sanity.
Nevermore-this godless endeavor. Is a must listen
If I had to live the rest of my life with only 10 tracks, this would be one of them.
arch enemy was another band that got me back into metal, back then their singer was one Angela Gossow that was already a legend for being one of the first women to do growling vocals, and the band was on the top of the Melodic Death Metal scene, other band that is super hook-happy on the same vein that I think you'd enjoy decomposing is Be'lakor, their album Stone's Reach was one that stayed in my playlist for a long while. Their remaster version is great too to talk about their engineering choices.
She brings to mind the phrase, get a girl who can do both, perfectly haha, what a talent
I'd definitely TP Allisa's FB.
Alissa white gluz is the best at what she does and her clean vocals are outstanding
Leave it to Geebz. He just inundates me with me music almost daily.
This is quite good example of what makes Arch Enemy tick, that chorus sticks in your head and stays there :-)
I never met my grandfather but I'm feeling home watching your vids. I'm so jeallous of your grandkids hahaha.
Thank you, Geebz!!
Angela Gossow, the former singer in AE is great to :)
Please react to:
Skindred- Nobody
Billy Strings- Dust in a baggie
Pigeons playing ping pong- Melting Lights
Less than Jake- Science of selling yourself short
You rock, love the videos, keep em coming!
My favorites from "old" Arch Enemy with their previous singer :
- Nemesis (ua-cam.com/video/ET7TI_PbeFg/v-deo.html)
- My Apocalypse (ua-cam.com/video/vWuYyxr8LdI/v-deo.html)
- Dead eyes see no future (ua-cam.com/video/BIKL3HTpAwU/v-deo.html)
@@khellendross3573 absolutely love Sinergy. Alexi was such a master!
Nemesis or The Eagle flies alone are also great songs of Arch Enemy..
Besides Arch Enemy; check out Dimmu Borgir with their song Gateways
GeebZ in the morning! 🤙 Finally done Arch Enemy melodic death metal! AMAZING band. Geebz you'll love em
They really blew me away on this!!! Have a great day Adam!!
@@KeyOfGeebz likewise my friend
it's time to go back: WINTERSUN - Time (live @ Sonic Pump studios)
loved the video!
ArchEnemy is the MELODY in Melodic Death Metal \m/
fantastic band with a catalogue spanning three singers. I have enjoyed each singer for what they bring, although i think you started in the right place. cheers for the react
4:55 "As your old decomposer" that was funny. 🤘🤘
People hate on her, and don't want to give her credit. She does a fantastic job in her role in the band.
Great to see an expert like you sir going through an epic melodic death metal song. I think people with a more traditional background, sometimes miss the greatness of these performers.
Yes!!! More Melodic Death Metal. Dark Tranquillity is a must!
Check out.. "Emptiness Obstruction" & "The Heart Collector"
Ps.. What kinda coffee you drink?
Thanks for all you do !!
Arch Enemy really is self help/empowerment metal :)
Happy melodic death metal. 😁
More Arch Enemy please! :)
Also would love for you to check out The Black Dahlia Murder..
I'm sure you're
flooded with requests, so I hope mine doesn't get lost in the shuffle
because this band deserves your time for sure, they are 'Once Human'
& the song I recommend is 'Scar Weaver'. The vocalist 'Lauren Hart'
is so powerful, & their sound is like Arch Enemy meets Machine Head
and so interesting! So highly recommend! They are from Los Angeles, California,
founded in 2014 by music producer and former Machine Head/Soulfly
guitarist Logan Mader. ua-cam.com/video/4740miichAI/v-deo.html
Alissa is the greatest performer in music today - ANY MUSIC!
One more request for The Smoke Of Many Fires, by Be'lakor
Amott and Loomis are 2 of the best guitarist around. Agree with many others in the comments, you should check out Arch Enemy with Angela on vocals, particularly Ravenous. And definitely try Nevermore, either The River Dragon has come or the Heart Collector, Warrel Dane had one of the best, most unique metal voices.
This was a great song. Don't know how this slipped by me. Was right there with ya on the first reaction
She sings both clean and distortion in their song Reason to Believe.
What about something by Nevermore? Their song This Godless Endeavour is one of their most popular. They have a lot of great songs but this one seems to be a good way in. Jeff Loomis (the blonde guitarist in this video) was the main song writer
Fathers of daughters often like Arch Enemy as they can be a good role model for their kids.
That is so true! When I was a young dude, the only chicks that were into metal, were the ugly and fat ones. Definitely not the style that you would want to associate with your own daughter. So naturally, I do my best to educate my daughter about the virtues of being metal and not being fugly.
@@Apollyon.King.of.the.Locusts ur daughter probably hates u
@@tombboy1436 hopefully not. I'm just doing my best as a man...
@@Apollyon.King.of.the.Locusts you can do a thousand times better if you learn to not raise your daughter with these misogynistic standards and actually worry about her education, values, health, success, etc. rather than if her father thinks she's hot. she'll be held back and miserable and only find worth in her physical appearence if you raise her that way, and i don't wish you ill i only wish for you to have a good relationship with your daughter and to raise her to value herself as a human being. you have the capability to do that
@@tombboy1436 I''m learning as I go. What else could I do, after all? (Right now, my daughter is turning 8.)
Awesome you're reacting to AE. 👍
Great suggestions. Those are main pillars of the AE sound foundation! 🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥
Enemy Within was the first metal song Alissa ever heard. She became an instant fan... like many other of us.💪
Strapping young Lad - Almost Again Please react to this you will love it. some amazing guitar work, an unbelievable vocal performance from Devin Townsend and some of the best metal drumming there is and my favourite groove of all time!
Great breakdown man, loved it like usual.
Aaaalohaa 🤙 "Seven Hills" or even "Our Courage, Our Cancer" by While She Sleeps, are some great tracks to jam to.
Thank you for being you Geebz
Thank you so much man! Love Arch Enemy! 🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥
Alissa ❤
I didn't know they replaced Angela. I honestly wasn't a big fan of her but now that they have Alissa I might have to follow Arch Enemy again. I lover her, favorite female harsh vocals
Alissa is a bit deeper than Angela. Alissa's vocals are changing too, being in Arch Enemy for many years. She's become a freaking demon...
Geebz please please please react to
death- story to tell
Next 🤙🏼
Those are some very respectable Arch Enemy suggestions. Horns up! 🤘🤘🤘
Yea, totally agree with you - STRONG HOOKS!!
Geebz, you really have to check Nevermore! This is the old band Jeff Loomis' band (2nd guitar). I highly recommend This Godless Endeavor and Dreaming Neon Black by them!
check out Nemesis Live both 2008 Tokyo and 2016 wacking (both singers are vegans)
the song I like the most is "reason to believe"
(a little calmer song but if you want a little more tempo then "Race" is a suggestion)
Agreed, but.... "wacking" 🤣 The race is very nice and heavy. First punk inspired AE song.
Still here.
Please check out Nevermore - The River Dragon has come.
Please, for the love of god. In Flames and Insomnium. Fun Fact, the current Opeth guitarist was in Arch Enemy prior to joining Opeth for Watershed in 2008.
Fredrik Åkesson is a monster guitar player. He's in the Arch Enemy - My Apocalypse video.🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥
Opeth - Eternal Rains Will Come
Eternal Tears Of Sorrow - Nocturnal Strains
You need to check out Nevermore! The Psalm of Lydia and Born are fantastic works of art!
Arch Enemy do use strings/pads etc quite a bit.
If you want to hear one of their best uses have a listen to Time Is Black.
The string sections in that sound like a Bond theme.
Wow. Respect for requesting this. Such an underrated song. 🤘🤘🤘
If you want to check out The Ghost inside "Aftermath", they have amazing atmosphere and tone in the song.
The Reticent - Funeral for a Firefly, it's a very unique experience
Talking about growling metal singing that we actually understand the words....Mikael Åkerfeldt from my thumbnail is one.
Or David Vincent of morbid angel, who incidentally is mikaels biggest death metal vocal influence
If you do more arch enemy check out “we will rise”
Love your channel. Just subbed, but been watching your stuff for a while now. Great stuff. BTW, after your Primus decomposing, I would like to suggest you check out The Claypool Lennon Delirium. You're going to love it. Blood and Rockets or Little Fishes are the songs.
Great song!
The Decompositions get me through my 11hr work day 🥰 keep going! Also, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the song Eclipse by Brand of Sacrifice
Aloha! Slice the Cake. Mountains of Man.
Think you'll dig it man! Take care.
In terms of Arch Enemy I'd recommend War Eternal, but from melodic death metal in general I simply LOOOVE Insomnium - While We Sleep, it's a freaking masterpiece
