3:38 that would be Jason Richardson. He really loves this type of orchestration and i think its one of his strengths. He's uploaded orchestra/programming only versions of a lot of his songs which I think are worth checking out as well.
Luke is an AMAZING drummer. This video doesn't showcase it, but he's also very showy while doing it. Check out his solo videos. He really is amazing to watch.
A great track that features Jason Richardson is "Aviator" by Polyphia, Jason does one of the most insane solo parts I have ever heard, even he has a hard time playing it perfectly
Been trying to learn that solo for the past 7-8 months. Can legitimately say it's the hardest thing for me to play cleanly on guitar, especially those sextuplets.

He's one of the best musicians of the current era of virtuosic guitarists/instrumental musicians that's been helping push the guitar to new limits technique wise while creating some awesome music. He was in a few bands before he started his solo band with Luke Holland who's the incredibly talented drummer. Previous bands including All Shall Perish, Born of Osiris, and Chelsea Grin. They blend Carnatic (folk) music with western rock. Let's share more music from around the world please!

Damn! Can't tell if I need to take something and go lie down to recover or drink some coffee and clean the house
Please do "Hos down" as well, its an absolute masterpiece of a song!
I feel like you listened to about a quarter of my iTunes. Here some progressive gems to check out.
Native Construct - Come Hell or High Water
Zero Hour - Stratagem
David Maxim Micic - Smile
Native Construct would be so sick
Jason Richardson is doing a lot of this work, he's the guitarists. Luke is on the drums. Check out the song he just released with Tim Henson!
Yewww first! Love you man!
Legend!
I'd love to see some branching into different languages as well, like the Soch video you did. There's so much amazing music around the world that we're missing out on!
My vote is for Khwaab by Thaikkudam Bridge. Won't nerd out too much right now, all I can tell you is that they've made songs with Guthrie Govan, Marco Minneman and Chris Adler, to name a few. They blend Carnatic (folk) music with western rock. Let's share more music from around the world please!
Aloha Braddah, I'm sure Jason Richardson is playing an 8 string to be able to do the bass as well as the higher octaves. his pick techniques allow him to be so versatile. AJ from Aiea 😆
Cheeeee huuu AJ, Mahalo for the info. Insane ya da bass arrangement!
@@KeyOfGeebz Anytime, I would love to see you react to Outliers from Veil of Maya. You'll be in for a treat with that song.
I’m glad you finally reacted to them but you gotta check out their song, Hos Down! It has some surprises I know you’d dig!
Hey man love the videos. Saw you did Mainstream A7X. Can you please do Exist or Save Me by A7X?
JR is a monster check out some raw footage and see just how clean a player he is
The bass is played by Danny Hauser of veil of maya
I've followed pretty much all of Jason's career as well as taking lessons from him in the past. He composes and writes everything himself. When it comes to drums he writes a skeleton and then Luke revises them.
You took lessons from him! That’s AWESOME
@@metaloreo8423 can't tell if sarcasm or not lol Im going assume its not. Its was awesome lol
@@joshkuhnmusic that is super cool I’m serious! He is a musical mastermind I can only really think of one other guitar player like him and that would be John Petrucci
see now this is a fantastic reaction and analysis. those morons who sit there, nod and rep the benefits of someone else's work are a joke. Essentially stealing someone's work and posting it. . . this guy analyses it and adds his professional opinion and its great, very informative
ive been waiting for this!! so awesome. you should check out protest the hero again, i would suggest clarity or c'est la vie. also another canadian band alexisonfire if you've never heard of them, familiar drugs is a great song but really they have soooooo many its hard to go wrong.
3 months out!
Kamelot - Memento Mori
Dream Theater - Space Dye Vest
Jason has a video where he describes how he came up with the main riff- its like charting a synths arpeggio on guitar, crazy
Yes…Jason plays the bass as well. Jason does it all…with Luke doing the drums…
try stömb! very underrated ambient progressive djent
Check out the play through they did of ho’s down for Meinl Cymbals
Super dope track. Check out Retrograde from these two, it features Spencer Sotelo, the singer from Periphery
I'm pretty sure Richardson is the sole composer on his solo stuff.
2:35 man's about to go holy shiiittt!!!
Great video
