Simone has improved her live singing qualities enormously. She is also much more relaxed on stage these days. My compliments!
So true! I remember back when I first got into Epica about 10 years ago, I thought she struggled sometimes on live shows, but she has evolved so much, she has much more control over her voice now. They are getting better and better! 👌❤️
Was going to write that too. It's amazing how much she has improved :D In older live shows I felt like she was often out of breath and trying to push through.
I was there. Simone's voice live is 100 times sweeter than you can hear it in recordings. It's like a fairy's voice. This was an amazing concert although the netherlands public is not as energetic and fun as latinoamerican or south european public.
I was there too and still get chills down the spine and teary eyes! 🥲😍
I thought the crowd was pretty damn energetic when the pit broke out, shame it took as long as it did to start though
A lot of (*not* all) US concerts are like this. People are super self-aware, which is a shame, because you're supposed to kind of get lost in the music. Ah well.
(Most) Dutch are aware that others are there to enjoy the artists too and not to have to deal with others jumping and screaming in their face. They will generally show their enthusiasm between the songs.

Ladies and gentlemen:bachelor of music Coen Janssen,keyboardist,composer (for example this song,partly composed by him) ,arranger,on Omega album playing not only keyboards but also lots of percussions like glockenspiel, tubular bells, orchestral snare drum, orchestral toms, Gran cassa, bongos...On this album Coen has also done choir arrangements,choir scoring, orchestral arrangements...What an incredible,multi-talented musician!!

Concordo. Ouço Epica desde que começaram, e percebo essa evolução também. Na minha opinião, essa banda hoje representa o ápice absoluto de tudo que é produzido em termos musicais no mundo. Por vezes, acho que sua música é composta por deuses e que Simone é um anjo da música, que foi enviada à Terra para nosso deleite.
I am here watching this, I've watched their presentation in Serbia, which was their best show of the whole tour, and thinking... what band plays as many shows as they played in the last two years, with such demanding instrumentation and vocals, and puts out a show like this, every single time?
They are not just talented, they are disciplined, dedicated, professional and prolific. Their name couldn't have been any other.

It is so amazing to watch how comfortable everyone is on stage playing and singing these songs as if it’s no big deal at all. I love this!
To be fair, they’ve been doing it half of their lives, but it sure doesn’t fully explains talent and chemistry.

Epica, para mim, é o ápice absoluto da música. Misturar música clássica com heavy metal não é fácil, e essa banda faz parecer simples. Ainda tenho que destacar o talento e o carisma de Simone. Poucas bandas, de qualquer estilo, podem rivalizar com Epica. A música deles parece ter sido composta por deuses, de tão perfeita.

Sempre amei muito a voz da Simone, desde os primeiros álbuns do Epica, e sempre soube que ela não gostava de suas técnicas dessa época. Sem contar que passou por um período bem difícil quando teve um problema de saúde que dificultava seu trabalho ao vivo. Hoje vejo que ela se encontrou em sua voz, me parece que realmente está confortável. Fico tão feliz por ser vitoriosa... E quem ganha somos nós. Bandas no geral com o tempo costumam cair na mesmice. Mas o Epica tem lançado trabalhos incríveis. Vida longa!

Simone's voice is SO good. Its improved since Holographic Principle, and it keeps improving. Her voice changes from album to album, and I think the 'Omega' tone is the best we've had. It combines the smooth operatics of the very early with the power of the Quantum Enigma days, and has none of the whineyness of the Holographic Principle days. So its perfect now. I hope she keeps it this way.

2:15 I love Simone's "squeak" she does. Just one of the few characteristics that makes her my all time favorite singer.
I am always so excited to see what the band comes up with next. Their music stands alone in a world of metal. But i have learned my lesson, never play Epica in the car during a date. People who do not listen to metal do not get it at all.
