In all of the recent videos you can really see that Epica are at the top of their game right now. All of their performances seem absolutely effortless and they appear to be one hundred percent comfortable on stage. For someone who has followed them for many years this is so amazing to see.
Yea I agree, I saw them at the Exit festival a few weeks ago. They were so relaxed, it was a fantastic performance. 🤘

Yeah, that laughter caught me by surprise. 🙂 Btw, her voice is better here than in the Zenith version.
@@cancelled_user at the zenith it is also perfectly sung and the second chorus did not break off, as it does here 😁 in fact, I don’t find fault with such moments, it’s alive. They did not use autotune and fix such jambs, for which I respect them very much. just the general impression of the performance at the zenith - unrealistically epic. Vocals are only part of the performance.

Simone's voice is just getting better each year. Arien still plays so clean that I can't help but always focus on him. He never misses. The rest just amazing. Rob's hair and beard are the 7th member for sure at this point.
Epica never disappoint. Love them forever. And yeah, Smoon soounds amazing here, just like in Unleashed at the AFAS.
Yes in all the years been following/ watching them live ( well over 10 years ) their current live performances are a Magnum Opus in musicianship .
I saw Epica live in Manchester UK on the Apocalyptica Tour . Truly amazing set . I took some live footage which you can watch on my UA-cam channel.
the audience does dissappoint though, we dutch people are such a bad crowd. at the Zenith the audience is so much more active (like in many other countries aswell)

The drummer is so tight that I had to search for him and just learned his name is Arien. Really brilliant drummer.
This was the last song I have hear played alive with my mom before she passes away. She was in love with Epica. I couldn't not laugh out loud when I see her enter the theater with a leather jacket and some eyeliner. We have a beautiful night
This was 15 years ago. And since them, i saw Epica at least 5 times. They just evolve and evolve.

The production is indeed as good as Omega alive.
Vocals are impeccable. Simone is, imo of course, the most complete singer of the genre. Drums out of this world. Epica is an example of a band that does not let their fans go hungry And the work is always so detailed and the quality never drops. There's new albums often, live albums every couple of years, concerts with orchestra, concerts with guests, collaborations with musicians, singers.... Whole album collaborations even! Joint tours. Acoustic performances, performances with saxophone, snakes, circus performers, choirs... You walk the walk and talk the talk. May many more years of success be ahead of you.
Right? Epica is the best musical discovery of my life, and Simone my number 1 female singer of all time. She definitely sounds better here than at the Zenith (2017). But damn, "Unleashed" live at the AFAS is even better. Her voice is really out of this world in that song. One of the most epic performances ever.
She was always very good, but this last years she has been improving a lot vocally, specially since that 'sabbatical' year in 2019 before starting with the DYU tour. From this year, my favorite performance 'vocally' from her is Exit Festival
Simone is very good singer, but not the most complete!she has no very powerful belting, no growling...there is another dutch singer who has the full package! I think that her name is Floor!

The spontanious laughter of Simone when Coen misstepped at 4:08 is so cute and real. She just couldn't help herself :) And her beautiful laugh is now captured forever in this moment in time. I love Epica. I love Simone. I love Epica with both my heart and brain.

Ohhh I loved this show back in January. I still get emotional thinking of it! I hope they release the complete show on Bluray/DVD!! This is such a masterpiece of the best symphonic metal band! Forever and ever!! 🤘🏻

Great take of one of my Epica faves! The best thing about this video is it accentuates the band members' "everyone is playing with each other" wholistic dynamics on stage. This is the extremely unique thing I never noticed fully about Epica until I saw them live last year, and it put a huge smile on my face throughout the concert. Within this take the vibe is perfectly captured. Great job!
And love to see Coen shouting through that Ahhhhh becoming a regular thing lol.
So sad that i missed them performing in Kyiv, didn't had the money to go.... and now i will probably never see them live. But at least i have this videos.

For me as an outsider I dare to say that band chemistry in Epica is much more authentic than Nightwish ..maybe Epica guys have still that drive to conquer and show their abilities whereas NW guys have nothing to prove anymore
Of course, the guys from Nightwish don't need to prove anything to anyone anymore, but their behavior on stage at the latest shows, especially in Japan, already looks like a spit on the fans, I dare to say this. How the idols stand on the stage and play as if under duress, as if everyone is pregnant there, and not just Floor 😏

eu amo os 2 primeiros álbuns deles, eu sinto saudade dessa época em que as músicas tinham um toque medieval! the phantom agony e consign to oblivion foram os melhores álbuns, sem dúvida. embora os atuais sejam ótimos também, claro. queria muito que fizessem um show apenas com aquelas músicas antigonas! sonhooo
Época de ouro do Epica. Depois do Requiem a banda mudou drasticamente o som. Não é ruim, mas a magia do primeiros albuns é mais impactante. E sonhamos com um show só de antigas kkkkk tantas músicas antigas que saíram dos setlists...😔
