4 Axel engines are known as GP 's general purpose engine . the six axel engines are known as Sd's and are used as has been described . reckon what started the fire ? Exhaust spark or a wheel slip causing sparks ? I never noticed either. He might have thought if it made it to that pile of used ties then he had one hot fire ?
Nice video showing the switching that trains need to do. Lots of back and forth and back and forth and back and forth......
Thank you so much for watching
Great catch of NS 7100 GP59. And that horn was great.

I think NS needs to freshen up the paint job on that ex Conrail unit😂
Oooo, ok. I wasn't aware that there would be a difference.
You have to Wonder 🤔 if it was a Hot Box or something else ? ALL Railfans know Not to BBQ close to the train tracks. 😬👍
Yes I keep the grill at least 10 feet from the tracks 😂
Great Film 😁
Thank you Tim for watching
@@therailroadtiespiker Your welcome
Awesome video again, were they able to put out the fire.
He did but it smoked for at least an hour after.
K5LLA on a GP38-2. 😭😭
What caused the fire? Good video.
Never did hear what caused the fire. Thank you John for watching
I've seen this happen before usually from a hot box, bearing or from sparks when the brakes are applied, nice video!🛤🚂
It was a very hot day when I filmed this video it was over 90 so that probably didn’t help.
I'm guessing that he couldn't go through because of the potential fire???
He was working the yard and the fire was on the main just outside of the yard. He took the train up to the fire to put it out.
Nice,1:26
Ummm, I thought engines had 6 axles these guys only have 4 what's up with that? Forgive my ignorance
These are locomotives that were built for local and yard work.
They are light weights, limited to yard ,and local industry deliveries. Now we use the wide bodies for road use
@@MrEngineman69 thank you
