I love your technique focused videos! Usually I find the instafilter quite obvious but you did it so beautifully! I was wondering if you could do a video about sheering out medium/full coverage foundations like the Nars radiant natural longwear foundation? Now that more sheer coverage foundations or tinted moisturisers are becoming more popular I don't want to waste my full coverage foundations especially when I find it so hard to find the right pale olive shade like Nars Siberia.
I remember the days when blush was a foreign concept and fear to Karima, and now she has overcome her fear of blush and is teaching us how to do it correctly. That's a glow up.
I have a really round face and find that a triangle with the widest side towards my ears blended to a gentle point towards my nose is the most sculpting/flattering.
For a quick monochromatic or travel-friendly look, I take my bronzer or blush onto the eyelids for a wash of color and then around the temples and cheek. Then I pop a bit of extra-light shimmer on the lids and high points of the face. Done. Because of the extra-light shimmer on the lid, the lashes already stand out so I can skip mascara if I want to. Sometimes if I'm really pressed for time or packing space, I'll also dust it on my lips before adding lipbalm or gloss on top.
I like the watercolor placement (even if it’s just 1 color) and the Insta filter. I just never realized why I like them so much. They flatter my oval face and sallow skin!
I'm rather fond of placing my blush in a large triangle, most concentrated on the outer apple of my cheek and blended out toward the ear like the sculpted cheekbone look, but also down at a 45 degree angle toward the edge of my jaw. I think it mimics a beautiful post-workout glow and also softens an angular or long face.
Karima, I am in awe of your effort in making a comprehensive video like this. This video is so good and perfect!!! I doubt you would have missed a thing.
I really need to know what shadows you are wearing on your eyes in the double dip section?? It’s a coral base with a lilac and baby-blue shimmer and sparkle. I’m in love!
@@sophied23. I remember those! I was actually thinking about them earlier today. It’s great that you were able to remember this one specifically. I have to go back to them and refresh my memory.
@@winxclubstellamusa we both need to get it immediately 😂 The only reason why I remembered because I’ve been taking them on and off my wishlist on ulta. 🤪
Brilliant video!! I specially appreciate you’ve done all the techniques on your own face, proving that there are no rules for make up, it’s there to have fun while making us feel beautiful. Lots of 💛✨ from Madrid, Spain.
Thank you for mentioning sallow skin. I find that placing blush on my cheeks accentuates the sallowness of rest of my face. So I end up putting blush on other places on my face. I hadn’t tried using a lighter shade of blush for that. What a great suggestion.
One blush placement I really like, especially on no makeup makeup, I learnt as a kid from the movie drop dead gorgeous 😂😂 the character is a mortician makeup artist and she called it the ski slope look(?) and it mimicked having frost burn by having two gigantic triangles of blush that go way lower than you'd think... It somehow looks really good, idk how 😂
I loved this video. You’re right lots of focus on the eyes usually. So a welcome change to watch a tutorial on blush placement. And your eye shadow is amazing through out. Please share!😍🙏
Lady, this video is fab (and I'm sure it'll help me massively with my blush) - BUT - please, let us know the eyeshadows you're wearing! I was soooooo hoping they'd be in the description box 😅
Thank you for this video, Karima! Very interesting and informative! I loved your eye looks on placement 3 and 4! I love all placements except maybe the last one! ❣️
I really like the « double dip » and the watercolor. I normally do my blush a little bit in the crease/higher crease of my eyes but very softly and on the « perimeter » of my cheeks, as I feel it tights everything together. I think I first saw it in Elanna Pecherle’s videos and I really enjoy it!
My face shape is similar to Blake’s Lively so whenever I’m struggling with the placement of my makeup I search for her photos to get inspired and whenever I do my makeup like her it comes out great! We have similar chin structure and eye shape! :) Love her! Thanks for the video! xx
I think I do a mix between sculpted cheek bones, double dip and water colour. I have a round face and find the first and second give some structure. And the water colour looks nice because I have big rounded cheeks and like how the light bounces of them with shimmer blushes. Also I think mixing blushes gives them a nice dynamic and I just like to play around. Thanks for the video 😊
I JUST finished watching your favourites video like 5 mins ago where you mentioned you'll be releasing a video on blush placement, such impeccable timing lol
I hope you know how adored you are. I absolutely love your content and you always make me laugh. Great video! My favorite placement is the Insta Filter- my face is on the long side and it really does help to add dimension and break things up.
My favourite flush placements are both the jnsta filter and the water colour, but with bright orange and/or bright yellow. Yellow looks so good with the insra filter placement when you have a warm/neutral hndertone.
For minimalists who like to match the color of their lip and cheek, could you make a video to suggest lipsticks which can act as blush as well such as which brands/ finishes are best (matt, satin, velvet etc) Also color suggestios for different skin tones.
Really enjoyed this one! I have Bern following you long enough to remember a time when you rarely used blush. Seems like you have a colorful spectrum in your collection now...
Love how informative this is! I’m a huge fan of beauty videos that are instructive not just in the “apply this, then that” but explaining why and different techniques 🥰
Ugh what an amazing video!!! I really needed this and loved the way you organized and delivered the content. Also, so many BEAUTIFUL eye looks in this video!!
I'm a little late but dear god this was a great video and so useful :) All the placements look super pretty on you and I will definitely experiment more with my blush application.
Great informative video! I normally do the sculpted cheek placement. However, lately I’ve been experimenting with what I call “the k-pop placement” (because of where I saw it popularized). I place a light, pastel blush in two flat discs high on the cheek directly below the eyes. It doesn’t really sculpt the face, but it gives a cute, youthful appearance!
@@robin7048 I like the Romand Better Than Cheek blushes! I got mine from Yesstyle. My favorite colors are Strawberry Milk and Blueberry Chip (my skin is fair and cool). They have deeper and warmer colors too.
i personally think you look great with all the placements but apple and double dip just look soo youthful and cute on you!! the other placements look mature and sophisticated.
I usually go for the sunburn look, but I love to play with more shades like Lisa Eldrige's technic. In fact, because of her, I bought 2 blushes from Maquillage (a sub brand of Shiseido), its call "dramatic mood veil", uff they're amazing, I never use powder blushes, but they are amazing.
Hope you enjoyed the video ♥️ Which placement was your favourite?

Karima please do a video on different types of contouring techniques as well. 😁
Good golly, I want videos on all of these eye looks, too! They're all GORGEOUS!
so I have high cheekbones diamond face and I want to hide them, make my face more oval, which blush and shading style should I follow? thanks
Old school tutorial where we are being taught something rather than watching someone simply putting make up on. Love this!

Thats so trueeeeeeeee! Thats growth haha
When she kept thinking blush didn't suit her or look good on her but now look at this goddess. All five looked bloody stunning!
Haha yes, we stan
Absolutely! Blush convert for sure.
OMG yessss
I have a really round face and find that a triangle with the widest side towards my ears blended to a gentle point towards my nose is the most sculpting/flattering.
Same! It works well for my egg-shaped face without overemphasizing my cheekbones (the widest part of my face)
I'm gonna try this i have a super round face too.
That sounds really pretty! I wonder if it would work on a heart-shaped face like mine?
yes I do something similar based on Wayne Goss, takes years off too
That’s my placement as well!!!
For a quick monochromatic or travel-friendly look, I take my bronzer or blush onto the eyelids for a wash of color and then around the temples and cheek. I don’t see it listed. What is it called? Looks like Lisa Eldridge to me. Anyone?
I like the watercolor placement (even if it’s just 1 color) and the Insta filter. I just never realized why I like them so much. They flatter my oval face and sallow skin!
Please tell me what eyeshadows you used in the 'double dip' eye look, they're stunning!!!!!!!!!
Yes please, and for all the others too ☺️
I was going to comment the same thing! Would absolutely love to know 😀

That’s a great idea! I’m cool toned so I tend to wear only pink blushes. I’d love to know if there are more colours that might suit me
