    "Now, really remember that it really doesn't matter. It's just make up, so you can apply it however you want." Thank you! That was exactly what I needed to hear. Everyone else seems so serious!

    i am so obsessed with your motto "it doesn't matter, it's just makeup!" honestly it's so refreshing to hear someone embrace personal choice and to make makeup less intense and scary and it is so awesome!

    I have a round face and was applying my blush on the apple's of my cheeks. I tried your technique for applying blush to a round face and I got so many compliments on how pretty I looked. I didn't change the color of my blush or anything, just used your technique for round faces.So thanks for the sharing your expertise and for making me more pretty!

    Love this tutorial, so many ppl get blush wrong including myself. After I changed my blush application to the higher planes of the cheek bone, it made my face look more lifted and not pulled down. Also blending is so important. Often times I see girls with huge amounts of bright blush on the apples of the cheeks and sometimes even lower than that and it looks so unnatural and made up. Keeping it defined with the correct placement of blush and blending makes such a big difference!

    I'm glad I discovered your channel. You have great taste in subjects to cover that allow you to get specific and technical, thus providing information that competing beauty vloggers often don't, while still remaining really accessible and easy to understand. You're very articulate at explaining the subtleties of technique -- and as someone who has done very technique-oriented manual trades, I know how hard that is! Thanks for the great channel. I just found you yesterday and I'm thrilled to have done so. I look forward to one day collecting some of your brushes once my skills improve enough that it's worth having a second set of very nice tools for special occasions. :)

    I struggle to determine if I have a heart, oval, or diamond shaped face. My face as gotten narrower as I've gotten older, but I have high cheek bones and a narrow, tapered chin. My forehead is really tiny. I think it's the least oval like, but my face is kinda shaped like a beauty blender lol

      @DannieGurl1995 10 років тому +3

      when you say tiny, do you mean height wise? Because you can have a heart shape and have a short forehead. It's width at the forehead and narrowness at the chin that makes it a heart.

    • @SingDea
      @SingDea 10 років тому

      DannieGurl1995 It's short;; it only fits three of my fingers. my whole face is pretty narrow, but not evenly narrow. My chin begins to taper after my cheek bones and I have high cheek bones. My forehead isn't wider than my cheek bones, it's either slightly narrower, or the same width. It feels it it goes in slightly starting at my temple.

    I have a *diamond-shaped* face. Should I use the blush technique for a long face, since both face shapes are somewhat similar?

      What's a diamond shaped face ? Do you mean heart ?

    • @Tiktok960
      @Tiktok960 10 років тому

      If I'm not mistaken a diamond-shaped face is the same as an oval face. It's suits everything ( not only blush applications but also hairstyles, ...)

    • @cocomomo80
      @cocomomo80 10 років тому +1

      Michelle Hernandez A diamond shape is kind of long or oval, but with defined cheekbones. Just think both a tampered forehead and chin, with noticeable cheekbones. Sofia Loren, for an example.

    I have a round face and try not to apply blush or bronzer to my temples, like you suggest. I find it closes off my short forehead and makes it look even stumpier. Thoughts?

    is there any way to make your cheeks and cheekbones less prominent? cause i feel like mine take up the entire face..

    • @Tengounsecreto231
      @Tengounsecreto231 10 років тому +3

      To make cheekbones less prominent, do not contour your cheeks. Also, don't apply a bright blush only on the apple of your cheek as that emphasizes round, prominent cheekbones. Use a softer color and make sure it is diffused. And if you like to highlight, make sure it's subtle and not a frosted glaring highlight.
      But I love your cheekbones. Just don't overemphasize them like most people do because you don't need it.

    Wait, what about the most popular face shape, the oval? I have an oval face shape, but it isn't long, I have a very small forehead, but a tiny face overall. I don't know which technique to use, help me WAYNEEEE lol. No, seriously, help me. Should I use the long face technique? The problem is although my face is an ova, I do not have a particularly long face.

      Darling, didn't you read the beginning in the video? Oval faces can use whatever technique they like - all suits :) but that goes for any face shape too :) its just a guide line :) xxxx

      I have the same thing a smallish forehead with an oval face but quite prominent cheeks sometime blush placed wrong can make them look bigger.. Not what I want! Would love to see a video in how to contour cheeks like mine.. as in how to make it look smaller I like that I have the killer cheekbones but not the chubby apples shaped cheek! Lol x

      ***** Hmm, thats weird I did not see that caption the first time I saw the video, guess I missed it, sorry :-(. Anyway, thank you for responding Wayne :-). I also was wondering because you said oval shapes can use any technique, but as I said in my comment above I don't have a typical oval shape and have a VERY small forehead so I don't think the technique where people put bronzer on their temples would suit me as it would make my forehead look smaller, thats why I was asking. My head shape is not quite oval and not quite some of the others so I was just curious. Anyway, thank you for taking the time out of your day to respond.

    • @MckinneyMini
      @MckinneyMini 10 років тому +1

      Caroline Hawkins Exactly!! I explained it in my comment, but I'm not sure if he was just busy and only read the first line in my comment. There is no way I could use the technique where people put bronzer on their temples because it would make my head look ridiculously small. Looking at your profile pic, it looks like we have the same head/face shape :-).

    • @notaubrey9407
      @notaubrey9407 10 років тому +1

      At least he replied some don't 😊 & at last someone the same face shape as me I try not to put too much bronzer on my forehead just a touch either side of my temple I do use a highlighter on the top of my forehead & in the centre to open it up info contour my cheekbones slightly and place blush higher up & try not to place it in the apples it helps a bit bit I sure would love a professional to sgow me if I'm going wrong x

    My face is oval shaped and I do the arc technique. As long as you don't apply a lot of blush it's really subtle and really compliments the face. It adds a healthy warmth to my face.

    how would you know what shape you are?

    • @cocomomo80
      @cocomomo80 10 років тому +15

      There are sooo many ways to find your face shape. You can just Google "how to find my face shape". Your face shape is mostly determined by your jawbone, cheekbone, and temple (or forehead) alignment. But, judging by your picture, alone, I would say you're a square shape. One of the prettiest shapes. Hope that helped. :)

      You can take a lipstick or eyeliner pencil (That you don't love!) and stand arms-length away from a mirror, and draw a line around your face (hair pulled up). What you see is your face shape! That's how I did it anyway.

    • @wendik.9854
      @wendik.9854 10 років тому

      HayGurl Hay Use a lipstick or eyeliner pencil that you don't love, AND that will come off the mirror easily. I know with some lipsticks, all it does is smear when you try to whip it off something. =)

    Thanks for this video!! This was really helpful. I used the technique where you out the blusher on your cheeks and your temples. I feel like a lot of beauty guru's don't go over how to correctly apply blusher, they sort of brush over the subject for whatever reason. You just hear "apply blush" or whatever, but this was extremely simple and informative. Thanks! Love your videos.

  • @DeanneFox

    I never thought I'd have to defend my blush placement (on the apples of my cheeks most of the time) because of my very long face, until I recently have seen such rude comments on pictures of celebrities or other people wearing it there- so I came here to see where i should put it and lo and behold! I think a lot of modern people have forgotten all the tips and techniques us oldies got from years and years of beauty magazines growing up! Then you come along, thank goodness, and restore a little sense to it all.

    So I just tried using a fan brush instead of my usual blush brush... oh. my. GOD. Wayne - where were you when I was 17?! Thank you so much for imparting these pearls of wisdom, I generally avoid blush as it always looked far too intense on my round cheeks/angled face, no matter how much blending I did. The fan brush diffuses the colour beautifully and gives me cheekbones, at last!!!! Love it!
