This one right here "Tyler Childers - Nose On The Grindstone | OurVinyl Sessions" Maybe give the lyrics a read before you listen because they're key to appreciating the song. A very real song.
Definitely love Tyler. One of the great new faces of country. Carry the torch brothers and sisters! Give “Fraulein” by Tyler Childers and Colter Wall a listen. It will shock you the vocal differences between the two, you will love them both, you will have to hear more AND you will be just like the rest of us!
I can’t believe you’re actually reacting to Tyler Childers. That makes me so happy. Check out ‘Feathered Indians’ and ‘Whitehouse Road’ next. He will lead you down a major rabbit hole of similar artists.
Yes yes yes!!! FINALLY you found this treasure! I've been waiting patiently. The first time I heard Tyler I felt it in my soul! His voice just cuts to the core of you. He has so many good songs. Feathered Indians is another of my favorite. And you MUST listen to his duet with Colter Wall, "Fraulein" I promise you will not regret it. So glad you loved Tyler as much as I do. Amazing reaction as always! Love you guys!
Agree 100%!! Was just going to comment the exact same thing! Tyler is wonderful and you have to give Colter Wall a listen as well (he is Canadian!). "Fraulein" is an excellent duet with the both of them.
I was born in Eastern Kentucky as was Tyler. The Tyler song that get's me every time is ''Shake the Frost'' Another great singer and song to check out is “Headwaters” by Charles Wesley Godwin
Western Kentucky for me - grandson of coalminers- and I can do relate to Tyler both sound and verse. Simple, honest and passionate all at once. He’s fantastic!
This was written for his wife Senora May. Try some songs from his "our vinyl sessions" songs: Hard Times, Shake the Frost, Follow you to Virgie All great stories.
Being from eastern ky myself, it’s incredibly hard to leave the area and make something of yourself, generational poverty & the drugs have crippled the area, but as a people and culture, it’s unique & there’s nothing else on earth like it.
Yes Jordan, happens to me all the time. A song comes on, the melody plays and the vocals come in, and I’m just crying. Not necessarily because the words I’m hearing are sad (which mostly they are because I love a good sad song) but because the melody and the vocals are so beautiful that you’re no longer listening with your ears but with your heart and soul.
Hard Times by Tyler Childers tells such a universal story of poverty and desperation. Just a great song. Universal Sound, Nose to the Grindstone, Shake the Frost, White House Road...so many great songs!!! Hope you explore more of his works.
You guys are getting some GREAT recommendations on new and old country from the Rob Squad family. I will have to say that I’ve been following you for some time now and am getting a really good understanding of what y’all like from your reactions. I’ll also say that it is interesting to sit on this side of sampling new music too, as we have heard these songs and WE KNOW YOU WILL LOVE THEM. Love to see the passion from this young couple and family! Keep it up we are personally invested in your journey too!
Oh my, I love Tyler. Explore more more more!!! Universal Sound Nose to the Grindstone Creeker Bottles and Bibles You will feel so much emotions for his lyrics. And style of playing. Than for sharing Tyler with us.
Hitting that thumbs up one time wasn't enough! I'm so glad you like Tyler Childers! That voice just tugs on your heart. I was tearing up right with you Jay.
This man's voice sends goosebumps down my spine. He has been working quite diligently on his discography and is definitely worth diving into. Here's a live performance "Tyler Childers - Hard Times (Live)" Very nice reaction, thanks for sharing👍🎶💖🤗
YES! ♥ So glad y'all got around to Tyler! Please check out more, and choose his live performances. Y'all are going to love them. The unique voice of Appalachian mountains sprinkled with coal dust. ♥
I love seeing reactions people have the first time they hear one of these acoustic Tyler songs, they touch your soul. Nose on the Grindstone and Coal are other favorites of mine.
What's better than Tyler Childers? Tyler Childers singing with Chris Stapleton!!!!!!! They performed at a concert they did for the Kentucky flood victims. OMG AMAZING
@𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩𝙨𝘼𝙥𝙥+𝟏𝟐𝟎𝟗𝟐𝟒𝟒𝟗𝟑𝟓𝟓 I'm old and it takes me awhile to figure this stuff out. I thought it was a phone # and tried to text the UA-cam link to the song to it.
Nose on the grindstone, whitehouse road, feathered indians, banded Clovis, all yourn, so many more great songs by tyler. One of the best doing it right now.
My friend Michael Brown introduced me to this song, and I think about him when I hear it. He had a heart attack right in front of my eyes two thanksgivings ago, and he went on home. Miss you brother, and thanks guys. Thanks a lot for this
Now this guy is one of the guys I've ben talking about for over a year or so now. These Americana country And folk singers are awe inspirining with their songs. Everybody from Jason Isbell to John Fullbright deserve recognition. I recommend them alll.
So glad you guys did Tyler Childers! Would love to see you do some of his live performances, Hard Times, Shake the Frost, Nose on the Grindstone, Whitehouse Rd, lots more!
One of my favorite artists, and i'm an electronic music producer & House music DJ. I was raised on bluegrass, and even though Tyler's stuff isn't quite Bluegrass, he has that "Cumberland Plateau" sound to his vocal stylings. He nails that Pike County Sound, hands down. He has some amazing stuff: White House Road, Follow You To Virgie, and my favorite, Hard Times. Even if you dont do a video reaction to it, listen to Hard Times. It will send shivers down your spine.
Love Tyler Childers. His voice is pure country. He is from my neck of the woods & I foresee a lot of baby girls named May in the next couple years. Lol!
I can’t imagine you two not loving “All Your’n” The lyrics are incredible, as are all of his songs. It’s just so beautiful and sweet. Obviously “Nose On The Grindstone” is a must too.
It’s actually not “simple” at all, it’s a pretty complex song, the metaphors between nature and human existence are profound and the switching of perspectives between a tree and himself is deep AF. Same with the parallel of a mans love for a woman and natures love for the spring of May
I have been obsessed with Tyler for years! My #3 artist for 2022. He does not have a bad song. I would recommend Nose to the Grindstone, Follow You to Virgie, and Bottles and Bible. Bottles and Bibles isn’t one of his most popular songs, but the storytelling is so good! Also, I see the Bengals hat! WHO DEY!
Tyler Childers is a badass. He's from my neck of the woods in Kentucky & he's really become a pretty big deal in country/Americana. He most recent album is an album of old church hymns. & songs about growing up in the hills in a small church.
What I love about this song is its all up to interpretation. No matter what you're going through you can find a way to relate to the lyrics. Mad, happy, sad, doesn't matter. This song will make you feel a certain type of way. Awesome video!! New subscriber for sure!
Tyler is awesome! “Nose to the Grindstone” will give you another sample of that angst and for an upbeat Tyler you have to listen to “House Fire” the music is great in that one too
im SO glad you guys found Tyler Childers. He is from KY like I am, and it's such traditional kentucky sound. I can't wait to see you guys react to "nose on the grindstone" or "Shake the frost". You'll be so glad you did.
feathered Indians is my favorite. WhiteHouse road is my husbands. Also nose on the grindstone. He was against country music but then overheard me playing this. Obsessed since. Similar artists are Zach bryan (something in the orange!!!, Godspeed), colter wall (devil wears suit and tie), Dave Fenley (Stuck on you), Paul Cauthen (walk this land), jelly roll (son of a sinner, save me) and Chris Stapleton (you should probably go, Maggie’s song, death row)
I have to admit that I've never heard Tyler before but I loved it so much I immediately looked for a video of him singing live. You have to check out that version as well (not necessarily for reaction). I will definitely be looking for more of his music, suggested here.
Tyler is amazing. You will really enjoy this rabbit hole. White House Road, Nose On The Grindstone. Listening to Tyler reminds me that you guys need to get back to Whiskey Meyers.
So very glad y'all found this guy. What a truly remarkable artist. Another really heart tugging song of his is "Nose On the Grindstone"

That is a great song!!!!
Please don't stop at one song with him. So much more you should hear. Best thing that's happened to country music in a long long time❤️
Definitely love Tyler. One of the great new faces of country. Carry the torch brothers and sisters! Give “Fraulein” by Tyler Childers and Colter Wall a listen. It will shock you the vocal differences between the two, you will love them both, you will have to hear more AND you will be just like the rest of us!
That ain't country. That is straight up modern Appalachian folk music.
@@michaelscoggins3503 damn shame to call Tyler country. Especially with the state of country music these days
Top notch comment
"Follow you to Virgie" is a fantastic song. It's about the passing of a lady that helped Tyler and his boyhood friends.
It was his buddy Cody's grandma
I can’t believe you’re actually reacting to Tyler Childers. That makes me so happy. Check out ‘Feathered Indians’ and ‘Whitehouse Road’ next. He will lead you down a major rabbit hole of similar artists.
And definitely "All Your'n" and "Follow You to Virgie" (The Red Barn Radio one)
All your’n is a beautiful love song.
Feathered indians is a great song. Nose to the grindstone is awesome too

That entire Purgatory album is outstanding! White House Road is a must!
Being from eastern ky myself, it’s incredibly hard to leave the area and make something of yourself, generational poverty & the drugs have crippled the area, but as a people and culture, it’s unique & there’s nothing else on earth like it.
Hard Times will shake you! Powerful display of pain and stuggle
Probably my fav from him

There’s a live performance of his on UA-cam of a song called Oneida and it’s not on any of his albums. Must listen for sure.

I love the smiles when his voice comes through
