It's so funny that when they get a name wrong, they say it over and over. It's possible they do it with names they get right and I don't notice it. But usually it's like today: Deedo, Deedo, Deedo! Lol

"Here With Me" is another famous song by Dido and it's great! 😊 The guy in the video is David Boreanaz. There's a number of shows you could know him from. He starred on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", its spin-off "Angel", "Bones", and he's currently on the show "SEAL Team".
BTW, you pronounce her name DIE-DOE. Like "to die" and "doe" like the deer. The name Dido is, actually, from "The Aeneid" by Virgil (and was based on a legendary queen who may or may not have really existed). I imagine the singer Dido was named after her.
This song is likely a reflection of that fabled queen, too. Dido fell in love with Aeneas after his landing in Africa, and Virgil attributes her suicide to her abandonment by him at the command of Jupiter (aka Zeus, king of the gods). Her dying curse on the Trojans provides a mythical origin for the Punic Wars between Rome and Carthage.
I remember "Here With Me" as the theme from "Roswell" back when I was in college!

I actually work with a woman named Diana, and she pronounces her name Dee-ana, so not the best example (though clearly Die- is more common than Dee- for that name). Lol. But yes, Dido pronounces her name Die-doe. :)

This song is THE song from a girl, a relationship, a breakup and a heartbreak for me. I am instantly transported. I wonder if I’m the only one. Her voice wraps you up in warmth. Also, it’d pronounced Dydoe.

I love this song. It was played in the months after my oldest son was killed. Even though she's talking about romantic love, it was easy for me to see it in terms of the loss of my son. It's been a while now, but still when I hear this song, it reminds me of how I felt after the loss of my son. Even after he was killed, I wanted him to know that my LOVE for him would never die. No white flag above my door -- ever.

@@djskdjsk28 That's very sweet of you. This song, and a few others, always made me cry after losing my oldest boy. It was an accident and he was killed instantly, so I never got to say goodbye or hug him one last time.
Crying is a GOOD thing, as it helps empty out the pain for a short time, but, in the end, it is what gets you to acceptance of the unacceptable. I usually no longer get teary-eyed when I hear it. It now brings just bittersweet feelings and memories.
I am so sorry for your loss. Loss of a child is the worst thing that can happen to a parent.

My ex fiancee used to dedicate Dido songs to me until her depression nearly sank us and we both sent that white flag up. Still, her songs always remind me of the great parts of the relationship. There were almost all good parts but the bad parts (the return of her addiction) were too much.

When you talk about this with girls, you would say she is using her "head voice" (like a falsetto) or "chest voice" if she is belting the notes out.

From what I heard Dido had a crush on David Boreanez (who was playing Angel/Angelus, a swoony vampire on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spin-off Angel then later Booth in Bones) so lucky for her she got him to play a part in her video. Notice at the end of the video both seem obsessed with the other cause they have pictures of the other all over their walls. Kind of like fans would have had of them back then.

We (separately) moved from the east coast to Los Angeles, driving with our fathers. We actually worked together for two years on Angel, but we only interacted a few times. He was on Buffy as Angel, then the spin-off Angel. He then was co-lead of Bones and just finished the series Seal Team.

Absolutely LOVE Dido! She’s a prolific song writer and plays piano, guitar and violin. For any future reactions, choose a live version. There’s plenty of live videos on her UA-cam channel to choose from. Don’t Leave Home (live on Regis and Kelly 2004), Here With Me (live from the Brits 2002) and any song from her live at Brixton Academy show are really good. Her later albums are also really good.
