Really enjoyed this video, you have done an amazing job with your improvements. I ordered my 67 with a pop top last September, it was due in March, then June, then September . . . Last week they informed me January 2023!!! It will be my first ever campervan, getting rather impatient lol.
Glad you enjoyed the video. I ordered mine in February expecting it May. It kept being pushed back until I eventually go it in the October. Looks like you are having to wait for a very long time. I think all manufacturers are having difficulty meeting demand not just AutoTrail. Just hang on in there safe in knowledge that when you do eventually take delivery it will be worth a few thousand more than you paid for it! I could sell mine now for a lot more than I paid for it even though it’s nine months old 👍

You did buy a good deal.J JUst for interest the mk8 ducato has a 100% new engine is an iron headed Alf-Romeo 2.2 litre. Also, you say you took 15mins to fit the rear view- possibly advise others how you did the whole job. Note the mk7 van can simply have a rer view mirror( in its own right or as a means to fit a digital camera) BUT mk7 and indeed mk8's with front window consatina blinds either need molded blind mate up magnet strip at the top to allow the mirror stalk to come thru the blind OR a mount made 2mm thin40 mm wide (ish)) which allows the blinds to still magnetically lock up

Hi Debs At 23 minutes into the video I showed how I routed the cable with the dash cam cable. Just tucked it behind the wall cupboards behind the control panel and the tucked it in behind the black rubber trim around the door . I then removed the plastic trim down the side of the windscreen then into the Pioneer unit that way. Hope this helps

@@markscotia5795 Yes it is unfortunately. When I ordered my van I was told it would be May delivery, then June, then August I eventually got it on the 7th of October! It’s the same with all manufacturers not just Auto Trail . Shortage or parts and delays in Fiat factory.
Hi Tony The tank heaters came from tankblanket.co.uk They are the tankblanket 90 kit quite expensive at £125 each, however I am led to believe they are the best with built in thermostat. Hope this helps

Hi The Goodyear BFG tyres and alloys came from a company called Rouge Alloy they have an EBay shop. The size is 225/15 R 16 . If you contact them they will make sure you get the correct ones for your van. Hope this helps.

The vanolarm looks like decent VFM Dave. Are the alarm sensors ok and not too sensitive to going off loads. I would be interested if they don't play up too much?
The alarm sensors work very well. It’s good that if anyone tried to open a door they get a bleeping sound just to let them know that the van is alarmed. I have been using the alarm for a few months now and never had a false alarm. I believe you can turn down the sensitivity if you need to. Van alarm has a few UA-cam videos you may want to watch.
Love the video. Love wheels and tyres. We have a 67 on order, with the optional alloys. We would love to fit the BFGs. Can I ask were the new alloys necessary over the original alloys or just a personal choice because you could? I heard what you said about the original tyres, thank you as new to campervans and moho 🙏
Good luck with your new 67 I hope you get it soon. If you have ordered the 16 inch alloys for you van then you can just buy the BFGs as the tyre size is the same. 225/R16 . I just liked look the black wheels to pimp my ride as they say 😃
Hi Dave, Great video and some good tips here. We just picked up our 66 and got a 3.9kg propane in the back, only one bottle in at the moment but its a tight squeeze, is that the same size butane you have in there as I was thinking I'll never get 2 in that space.
I have to agree it is very tight space. You can get two 3.9 kg propane or two 4.5kg butane Calor gas cylinders in just. The Flowgas cylinders are bigger so stick with Calor it’s a tight squeeze but they will fit.
Hello Steve . I show some of it on the video. I managed to push the cable up behind the wall cabinets from below. Then I pushed the rest of the cable in under the black door trim and down to the dashboard. Hope this helps
Hi Dave, can I ask you what you painted the roof heki with please? Got a maxxfan in smoke colour now and want to paint the heki and mushroom black. I have some PLASTIDIP PLASTI DIP PLASTIC/RUBBER PAINT SPRAY left from a job and wonder if that will work ok. Hopefully it would stay on if it's keyed. Cheers
Hello Tony The paint I used was MOTIP semi gloss black. If you Google MOTIP paint you will find it’s available from many suppliers. It’s an acrylic paint, however I think as long as you key the plastic with some wet and dry most paints should stick. I did mine 18 months ago and it’s still as new. Hope this helps.

We’re going to get the same one but not till next year because we wouldn’t have the time to use it.I think the price to spec next years expedition will be around £50k. You might consider ordering your one sooner rather than later to secure today’s price. If you ordered one now you probably won’t get it until next year anyway!

Hi well done on getting a van! Clean the tank base with some alcohol and stick the tank blanket on the long flat Part of the tank. The heat will transfer to the rest of the tank. Alarm from vanolarm.co.uk Tank blanket from tankblanket.co.uk The insulation from EBay just search( sticky back foil bubble installation ) you just have to cut it to the correct shape bottom,sides and back. Hope this helps

@@TheModelav8r Hi, I am installing a big lithium battery. I kept the original 75Ah battery as it is and linked a Renogy 50A B2B charger to the original second battery hookup. But, it seems that the charge current is not enough. When the engine started, the charger to the lithium battery gets 24A, but the original battery charge current dropped from 9A to 3A. I saw your link from the EC176 to your batteries with a 'fat' red wire. Does the wire link from EC176 to the vehicle batter/generator directly? If it is, which one? I think I need to get that wire to hookup with the B2B charger. And, do you know how much AMPs the generator can produce?
@@yimingzhou1776 Hi I’m sorry I can’t help you much as I have never fitted a battery to battery charger so can’t really give you any advice. The big red wire you can see is not connected to anything. It’s just a positive from the solar controller should I need to charge anything else. A good website for information and advice I can recommend is 12volt planet you can find most things on there. You could also give them a ring.
Hi Dave we've now collected our Expedition 67 and after having a radio fitted was disappointed to find it only works with the ignition on. The fitter said they were all like that and it's ok to have the ignition on a diesel as there were no coils. I noticed your ignition was on when you were showing the radio, do you think it's ok to have the ignition on for an extended length of time? Colin
Glad you finally got your van. Yes I was a bit disappointed that the radio only works with the ignition on. I did originally wire it to work with out, however it just flattened the battery over night. So for my music when on site I just use the blue tooth speakers I fitted as you can see in video. I use an app on my iPhone called radio garden. Very handy as you can listen to any radio station in the world. Great for listening to the local radio station to your camping site.
No, it does go against the grain to have all the ignition circuits active just to listen to the radio, but it’s annoying to lose access to the functions as soon as the ignition goes off. I’ve seen comments on the older Ducati’s that implied that the radio would stay on for 20 minutes but they seem to have done away with that. Thanks for the Radio Garden tip! 👍

If you have the 16 inch Fiat alloy wheels then the Ko2s will fit. If you have the standard 15 inch steel wheels you will have to get the 16 inch. Hope this helps.

Hi I bought the wheels from a company called Rouge Alloy. They have a EBay shop. The wheels are 16 inch and the tyres are 225//R16 BF Goodrich K2 . I got the idea from a couple I follow on UA-cam called John and Mandy . If you look at there videos from around a year ago you should find all about it. Good luck with your new 67

What make is the bike rack? I have an Expedition 67 so guess doors are same size and I like idea of it clamping to the door instead of drilling holes. I have been quoted £600 to fit bike rack!

No noticeable difference in noise. You also get a much smoother ride as I run mine at 45 psi as apposed to the 80 psi the camper tyres run at.
