Hi John & Mandy. After watching your video I have just acquired a set for my Peugeot Boxer L2 H2 Van (Work Van) They look AWSOME mate. If it was for not watching your video I may not of bought them, but so glad I did.
Thanks for your videos, I finally bought my first ever motorhome this week and took it straight down to Elite Tyres in Reading for some badass MSW wheels and Goodrich tyres and, rather nicely, Jay, the motorhome tyre guru, gave me 5% off because I said I had seen your videos. Nice one!
Great video thankyou. I love those badass wheels and tyres they are stunning. I will be looking to get them myself hopefully this year. All the best to you both and Cooper. Cheers
Super useful video. A point to note for viewers, the Snowflake on the tyre means they’re usable in Germany in winter. Many 4 season tyres aren’t actually legal in winter in Germany as they don’t have the snowflake symbol so haven’t met some EU standard. I run 15 inch Vredestein which are properly 4 season rates and are great, BUT 16 inch is the way to go for all the benefits John mentioned. John, you just cost me a grand 😉
Just noticed your Badass wheels and tyres. I was like whaaat? Exactly the same as we have got on our Renault Master. Loving all your review as we have only done about 1000miles in just over a year so glad to know these are gonna last. 👌👌
Great video as always, and I agree they are bad ass fitted a set 245/75 r16s to my Sprinter after Mel’s weld recommended them. Makes my Sprinter look & feel like a Beast.
Great vid, I do have one question tho that wasn't covered. If I buy these tyres will my van start? I'm having a minor engine issue, keep getting a warning light on the dash and the van won't run for some reason? Must be new tyres needed... surely??
We have the same tyres but different style of alloy wheel from Elite also.. been on a year, absolutely perfect, never been stuck or had any issues at all. Definitely worth the money in my opinion.
Always good to hear a first hand review, especially on tyres. I had 99% decided to switch to Michelin Agilis Alpin for next winter up here in the Scottish Highlands as I've watched videos and read reviews from quite a few Camerpvan'ers over in the colder Euro Winter climates suggesting they were up there with the best snow handling tyres during their Ski season..... and now you go and throw this spanner in the works haha. I've used BFGs extensively during my 12 years living in South Africa, on 4x4 Toyota bakkies and an off road trailer, covering many 1000's of miles and they never missed a beat either on road or off road, however for sub zero / snow conditions up here in Scotland I was wondering if the Alpins would be a better choice......... decisions decisions ;) At least I have a few months before deciding, and as the current original Agilis on our Hymer Ayers Rock have only covered 5k miles there is no rush. Maybe I will swap to a couple of Heat Lithium first, an easier choice haha. Cheers, John.
hi John and Mandy, trust your Euro trip going well, looks great fun. Just had my bad ass tyres fitted, for trip via hook of holland to Denmark next week. can not wait to drive with these new tyres.
Good video of a good set of tires. When I lived in USA I used only BF Goodrich, they are good both for cars (not the KO2's though :) ) and heavier vehicles and both for comfort and longevity. My next tires on my new van will be KO2's too :)
I have recently put the same on my motorhome peugeot boxer and I find i need wider mud flaps to stop the dirt from splashing up the side of the van what do you think thanks ade
John, great video, followed your lead and fitted the ‘badass’ BF Goodrich KO2’s on 16” Romac alloys. We added four TPMS sensors for £129 and all appear to be working OK👍
Debated about these tyres for a long time and then looked at Maxxis wormdrive 245/75/16 for my rear wheel drive sprinter. They are good with a slightly more aggressive tread as I wild camp mostly and cheaper after all I'm a pensioner. However if I outlive these tyres I will try the Goodrich KO2. Good video with tech advice.
hi john just more badders asser tyres on my boxer just put t/a 17inch on and it transforms the looks and noticed on the last trip in spain they where great. Noticed fuel consumption has dropped off though
I ran a set of BFG AT’s and also a set of General Grabber AT3’s on previous vehicles... both are good but the BFG probably just edge it especially for longevity ! Great review John !
Great review guys, love them wheels they look amazing and then the tyres really make it look fit for any purpose. You could probably do the dakar in that now. Hope you have a great week and Best wishes and stay safe and well to you both and your families ❤️ 💙 ❤️ 💙 ❤️
@@johnmandy Unfortunately mine didnt come with the white lettering, I asked the fitter and he said no. I can buy special paint and do them myself, but I would probably make a mess..
Good tyres. Had them on my Toyota Hi lux for 4 years. I’ve done over 50000 miles with them but now the front pair have gone out of shape and are very noisy. Saying that I would have them again. Mainly used them on the road with some off roading. keep up the good work John 👍
I was after these for our van but seeing your review on here filled me full of dread because like other stuff I've been looking to buy and then seeing your review I'm unable to buy... it really is a pain, thank you..😥
thank you for the good content. helpful. can i ask if your camper is 2 or 4wd please? if it is 2wd, is it front or rear drive? i wanted to know as i you said you drove through heavy snow. I have a front wheel drive van-renault master 3 lwb, and wanted to know if i just need decent tyres to drive in the peaks in winter, france and swizerland. (apologies if i have missed this, and that i have only recently bought and converted a camper). this will be good news as i cant afford a 4wd van!
Put same wheels, tyres on my van speedo now spot on , slightly more noisy at slow speed ,killed the gearing though had remap 175 hp now much better , spare wheel on rear door
Often stated on forums are that dedicated Camper tyres should be chosen (like Vancocamper from Continental) because they are designed to withstand being stood unused at home or in storage for long periods of time. Now I know that isnt a problem for full timers but do you think it might be an issue to consider with these tyres for the more occasional users out there?
Can you up the tyre pressure and park on tyre savers to reduce flat spots? What sort of mileage do you do John? I suspect none have done much in the last year anyway!
Average daily users very unlikely the tyres to last 10 years which is where most tyres are past their use by date. To enforce this i read recently that 7.5t and over must now have the tyres replaced at 10 years regardless of the tread due to rubber perish increasing the chance of a blowout. In any case its very bad for any vehicle to sit idle. Everything made of rubber on a 2001 or older very low mileage motorhome is trashed. The tyres, suspension bushes, bump stops, steering gators, drive shaft boots and timing belt and aux belts etc. Not to mention probably everything else has rusted from lack of use.
I had the same result with the speedo on mine, spot on with 16", the only thing I have noticed is I've lost 5 miles to the gallon ! But I just have to swallow that for the looks alone 🙂 ... my van is only 3.5T 5.5mt.
@@johnmandy Yep 😉 ! as I've said before they saved me in France in December. You do realise you've cost me a fortune in upgrades, so many recommendations, but they've all been worth it ... 👍🏻😉
Hi John i am looking at new tyre and found your video helpful thanks. Why does everyone say there is little weight on the front when you have engine, transmission, Driver, Passenger, fuel tank, fresh water tank and batteries all in front of the vehicle centre line ?
We've had front wheel drive motorhomes for about 16yrs and only had to be towed off twice. If the grass or ground is wet or soft i always Reverse as all of your driving forces are on the front wheels if you drive forward all the weight transfer goes to the back and allows the front wheels to slip so if you Reverse the weight transfer stays over your driven wheels.
And I'm still on normal road tyres. But i do like the ones you have so when my tyres run out of date I'll probably go for what you have may look a little strange on a Rapido 986F but if they do the job thats the main thing 😊
Curious to know what pump / compressor you used to put air back into the tyres after you'd deflated them to defeat your gravel obstacle - or did you just drive to a garage with them at the lower pressure?
Just fitted these or something similar (with Goodrich AT wrote on!) to Isuzu Pickup and wish I did it sooner. It tows a lot and the ones it came with were on their way out by 15,000 miles. I noticed more gravelly debris being flicked up and hitting wheel arches than before, but since there's been a lot of snow and rain combined with less traffic there's more stuff there to throw up
I can vouch for the strong side walls of these tyres, sorry "bad ass tyres". I have the same tyres on a Toyota Landcruiser Colorado, the truck weighs 2250 Kgs. I came out one morning and spotted one tyre was a bulging a just bit, I went to work and checked the pressures later on the way home. The one that was a bulging a bit was at 5 psi (I found a nail in the tread) but due to the stiffness of the sidewalls it didn't look properly flat. And it didn't wander or wallow when I drove it. Great tyres they last for ever, I've easily had well over 80,000 miles out of a set, and I don't hang around when driving. They grip like a certain waste substance stuck to a blanket, dry or wet. Good off road in the mud good in the snow, and even with the mid range aggressive tread no noticeable road roar. I've towed all sorts of vehicles out of muddy fields, a Peugeot estate car with caravan attached, Ducato van well loaded with tools Transit camper, all sorts. I towed one muppet who assured me his handbrake was off on his Transit 500 yards across a field with his rear wheels not turning. I didn't bother to stop, I had enough grip to cope! Great fun, great dollops of mud flying all over the place.
Brilliant! I was thinking about buying these for my van after we got stuck in the mud in the middle of nowhere, at night during a stealth camp. ( we eventually got out going backwards funnily enough 😅) that being said I am looking at the k02 copies that are half the price.....
Brilliant I’ve wanted wheels like those on my MoHo since I bought it my So tells my will ruin the ride and the noise on the motorway is deafening and I will want to change them after paying all that money out. Thanks for sharing Ray K UK. YNWA.
John the tps you just have to take the sensors out of you old wheels and put them into the new wheels and the van will recognize the sensor and you will have no light on the dash
Unless it uses the abs system, then they have no sensors. The basics...... Inflated tyres have a bigger rolling radius, so as you loose pressure on a tyre then that begins to rotate faster then the others.
@@johnmandy the TPMS sensor is part of the tyre valve, interestingly they kind of use the valve stem as the antenna and if you put a metal valve cap on, it can interfere with reception
@@johnmandy It's on the back end of the valve stem, I think stuck to the wheel with a sticky pad to the wheel. There's a fair chance they're still inside your old wheels/ tyres!? Genuine sensors £45 per wheel on Ebay. (Google fiat ducato tpms)

Hi guys. I am elite wheels now about to have a set fitted! I was unsure about putting bfg’s on and your video was really useful although one supplier refused to put them on the van! Although I have to have the 130pcd size, were yours 118’s? I mentioned you and they gave me some discount so thankyou! I have to ask, who is Louise? 😂 hopefully see you at one of the meets this year.
Hi John, love this vlog, we are getting bad ass wheels and tires for our auto trail , my question is what did you do with the factory fiat alloys have you sold them and if so did they go easily?
Hi John your wheels and tyres did you take them of your old van.. and the side 225/75/16..and can you tell me your wheel name I have fiat Ducato year 2015 I hope 🙏there fit.
Thanks for the video. Still can't decide. Currently running 15" Mich Agelis Camping which are rubbish on anything worse than dry grass. And we get about 32mpg on the motorway doing average 60mph with a coach built narrower than yours. Was looking at the Goodrich big ass tyre but concerned about the wet performance in tyre tests. They claim not great at stopping in the wet. But the alternative like a Cross Climate isn't made as a camper tyre, only a van tyre and so might not cope well with the extra weight and irregular use. Decisions decisions. ......

You order them and they then get stock & send them out, that’s mostly what happens with eBay these days. Just call them and ask 👍🏻
@@johnmandy thanks John need to save the pennies again first but last mot said tyres will need replacing soon 👍
Breaking distance on tarmac effected?
It’s much better as I said 👍🏻
Same as mine 😎👌
Do you carry a spare wheel and if so is it a standard tyre
We don’t, but we have several ways to repair punctures 👍🏻
Hi John . Seen 2 videos lately , sprinter and crafter , where the spare didn't fit into under slung cage . . Vince
Our van doesn’t have a spare, I have different ways to repair punctures.
@@johnmandy I know , just bringing it to the attention of those that do . Carrying a spare inside where space is limited could prove awkward . Good video . Vince
I think that covers it!! There'll still be questions though 😂😂
Oh no doubt 😁
Who’s Louise 😂😂
🤣
John can you help..Did you have Them on your old campervan..its just that I have fiat ducato.year 2015 ..and the side 225 75 16..
Morning John
Just bought these so Thankyou
But was wondering what torque setting you used for the wheel bolts
Thanks mate
Hi John, love this vlog, we are getting bad ass wheels and tires for our auto trail , my question is what did you do with the factory fiat alloys have you sold them and if so did they go easily?
I gave my old wheels & tyres to Daz 👍🏻
Hi John your wheels and tyres did you take them of your old van.. and the side 225/75/16..and can you tell me your wheel name
I have fiat Ducato year 2015 I hope 🙏there fit.
I’d start by watching the video in full
Thanks for the video. Still can't decide. Currently running 15" Mich Agelis Camping which are rubbish on anything worse than dry grass. And we get about 32mpg on the motorway doing average 60mph with a coach built narrower than yours. Was looking at the Goodrich big ass tyre but concerned about the wet performance in tyre tests. They claim not great at stopping in the wet. But the alternative like a Cross Climate isn't made as a camper tyre, only a van tyre and so might not cope well with the extra weight and irregular use. Decisions decisions. ......
They’re great in the wet, stopping distance is always tough when you think you’re stopping 3.5 tonnes.
Hi John, Is there much tyre wall protection from scuffing the rims or do you have to be very careful when near kerbs ?
The rims are protected by the tyres but I also do take care of them.
Great vid I have a bessacar 216 model it’s on a 3lt fiat Ducato I must get them I’m having problems with the link I need 225/75r/16c/
You can order them directly from Elite Wheels, their info is in the video description. Mention us and you’ll get 5% off 👍🏻
