true,i grew up in the 80s and the d.j was the man,on records ,live shows, house partys, one of the five elements of hip hop,m.cs had to have a good d.j.,it seems they dont get the respect they used to back in the day,but they have evolved into beat makers as well as mixing,i had 2 techniqe 1200s ,love it,
I love scratching and my skills would certainly not amaze any of you but I have to say that I couldn't stop myself from bursting out! I even could feel what a ninety year old would feel watching and listening to this.I must grow very old.
......and too. This is FIRE!!! And WILL change your view on the most underrated music stereotyped by too many narrow minds. Back to back metaphors that would straight up give you a brain orgasm! My opinion, these people are the most skilled focused on bold metaphors with crazy rhythm and for the love of it. Haha you'll know exactly what I'm saying after you hear this. And there's almost infinite more and more enhanced material. :)))
When one is using two 1200s and a crossfader, and no computer assistance they are considered a true turntablist. Much respect to them and to myself. ✌ to all regardless.
@LevelOneTwinks I used to DJ. A person can scratch on any record that's marked. I've mixed on white out marks, markers to stickers. Once you make a mental note where the sound comes in relative to where its at in space, that's all you need. Its more off Premo not being warmed up. He was heavy handed.
@ruslanio I agree with you that the skill level, and technical skills used, HAS evolved and ELEVATED since the 70's and 80's...what these kids are doing NOW on two turntables is INCREDIBLE!!! I'm really feeling these kids DJ Qbert, and Roc Raider...there are a few others I feel are nice, too, but i'm feelin those two the most out of these new generation DJ's. DJ Scratch is a LEGEND with DJin and Producing hip-hop music, but his "time" as a superior "battle" DJ has passed..."the game" good tho!
I'll always recognize and respect DJ Premier for his producing but I would never go knocking him just because of a display like this. Obviously he wasn't on home turf so chill.
now that you said it i'm thinking it might not be... Just thought it was cause I heard it at the end of Hip Hop by DJ Khaled (feat. Nas, Scarface & DJ Premiere)... Looks like it's a sample that Premiere uses a lot... Still wanna know where it's form though
@ruslanio I stand corrected, youngun...he won the DJ Seminar Battle for World Supremacy DJ Championship in 1988...the DMC tournaments came years after...trust, I KNOW hip-hop history, and when I am in err I can correct myself or accept correction...If he COULD qualify, he certainly would have won one, though...
I'm pretty sure the reason preem didn't do anything is because it wasn't his vinyls and stickers on them and he didn't have anything prepared on them. You can tell that preem was just invited to do something in the middle there. I've seen preem do better than just rewinding. So this isn't really something he was prepared for or planned to do. He has his own decks also where he stands in the start. So we didn't get to see his performance
True that, the regular music fan will listen to what is on the radio or MTV, which is aload of bullshit these days and won't really search for hidden gems unless they are "hardcore" hip hop fans. I agree with you. Whatever happened to the days of MTV raps, etc?
I'm not really a fan of R&B, but I respect the old stuff and can see the talent and the beauty in the music but these days it's all about generic beats and autotune. I don't know how people can call it talent.
This is Out Of Sight Out Of Mind Music. I been listening to this music for years. There's all kinds, and I mean all kinds of different perspectives. When hip hop has been getting worse and worse overtime, it got to the point right now where it evolved to a state where I just don't even criticize to this music nowadays and just stick to my unheard90's hip hop. Peep hankeshh's channel and listen Ten Thieves-Straight from the Slums/Black Reign . Guaranteed No guns, etc. Knowledge with skills
dj scratch won hands down! Evil D is still nice but man that dude is big as crazy. I remember he was skinny. DJ scratch won but Premo is still the best hiphop producer on THE PLANET!
Preem is an old school dj.. one of the best and is responsible for some of the most revolutionary productions in the world... lots of his beats WILL remain unmatched.. he is a a LEGEND... hes one of the most important djs on the face of this planet... but he aint no turntable tricknishan... he cant stand in front of someone like say klever..so im pretty sure he wouldnt bust any extravaganza scratch.. even if he had his vinyls..
scratching and breakdancing mixed together is one of the cornerstones of hip hop and is legendary in this world of hip hop in my opinion
Yall just gonna ignore that dj evil dee is there too
bucktown great upload bro this is real treat fam you don't get to see grand turntablist like this come together thanks!!!!

I love scratching and my skills would certainly not amaze any of you but I have to say that I couldn't stop myself from bursting out! I even could feel what a ninety year old would feel watching and listening to this.I must grow very old.

When one is using two 1200s and a crossfader, and no computer assistance they are considered a true turntablist. Much respect to them and to myself. ✌ to all regardless.

Premo has the funkiest scratch hooks and I love his identifiable sound BUT I dont know that he can really mix it with these cats technically!
His mixing and cutting is fire on his live from headqcourterz show though
@LevelOneTwinks

@ruslanio I agree with you that the skill level, and technical skills used, HAS evolved and ELEVATED since the 70's and 80's...what these kids are doing NOW on two turntables is INCREDIBLE!!!
