"can't play rap or trap music well" I had to snort laugh at that, to me, that "music" is going to sound crap to me no matter the quality of the system playing it.
My fav one is actually the, I think its called Echo Spot, the round one with the small screen on it, far more interesting than the others and as far as the new model, even though I am an adult, I find the kids version far more interesting, its good to have both options.

That just tripped me out. I'm actually editing on my other computer and using Warp Stabilizer at the moment...that was super weird.
Amazon missed a big opportunity. they should have made all the Echos and Dots with the clock in every color by default. then just give people the option to turn on the clock or not. It's an awesome feature, but it suck that you are limited to only the pale grey Dot if you want it.

Good thing its on sale for $30 and clock version is $40. These price points make a lot more sense.
I received an echo dot as a gift. After several months dealing with Alexa, I am at the very end of my wits. I have never in my life seen such a technological disaster. Day in and day out, Alexa makes random noises. I have to turn the thing off when I sleep, because all night long Alexa is either making random noises or saying "SORRY, SOMETHING WENT WRONG" - right out of the blue, for no reason, at 3:30 a.m.. It is completely useless when dispensing information. When I ask for the temperature, the machine will say "The temperature in Washington DC is 67 Degrees." ..........I live in Wyoming. The next morning when I ask the temperature, Alexa will tell me the temperature in Dallas, Texas. You really cannot ask this machine anything requiring an intellect greater than a 3-year-old child, because it simply does not have the capacity to even comprehend what you are asking. I am planning to blow the echo dot up with a stick of dynamite and put the clip on youtube.
Given that the Dot is only twenty bucks on Prime Day, I think it's become a genuine bargain. I bought three.
The 4th gen amazon echo dot with the mediatek chip really is a superior smart speaker system. I especially like how quick alexa responds due to the proper optimization done in this device

Just bought it for $30, it was on sale and I'm gonna give the 3rd gen that I have to my sister, so it's a win win I guess?
This explained to me why my first one is a nice hockeypucks shape and the two I got yesterday are these weird little spheres. Frankly, I like the hockeypucks way better. Travel, more stable on a table, you can pile papers on them, and see the ring on top and use it as a nightlight

This host is seriously mistaken! The third generation with clock is $60 or $12 a month for 5 months. The fourth generation with clock is also $60 or $12 a month for 5 months. You can look at both of the prices of these items right now on Amazon. The only way you'll get the $19 third generation device is the one that does not have a clock. This host needs to research his information better, and not be so quick to criticize.
The echo speaker is pretty nice and also doubles as a decoration at home. Nice design and competent mediatek chip
The successor in the name of the Echo Dot 4th generation comes with Amazon’s first-generation AZ1 Neural Edge processor for improved machine learning applications and faster response. Alexa and MediaTek additions does its job pretty well and efficiently. I think the 4th generation Amazon Echo Dot is absolutely worth the price. The setting up is real easy.
Except it looks like a stupid ball. No thanks. Echo Dot 3rd Gen much cooler.

I prefer the amazon echo dot 4th gen cuz it has a better audio quality overall and really good processing speed thanks to the mediatek chipset inside.

This was my analysis as well. The 3rd gen dot is an extremely good value if you aren't looking for good sound quality. For me I'd step up to the full sized Echo for the better sound and the Zigbee hub.
I prefer the older model Echo Dot since it is compact and the most recent. If you want to mount technology on a beam in the workshop or shed, it doesn't take up a lot

if you don't wanna go for the Amazon Echo Dot (4th gen) for the bland looks, I'd rather suggest to get the kids edition because the look is really appealing! similar specs with the in-built mediatek processor and the amazing Alexa support
I have three Echo Show 5s and love them. But I want that panda Echo Dot kids with the panda cover... I think you can figure out why.

If anything it’s just a design swap so buying it while having an echo is just a waste of money as if your gonna put on music why not put it on actual speakers instead of the echo device

My major major major issue is the lack of a built-in battery or a battery base. This thing does not need to be tethered to the wall for power and I still don't know how and why Amazon is missing this!
Right but your kinda wrong here. It fits in the palm of your hand. Obviously not going to have a very good base. And it’s a lot bigger. Us usually bigger means more and better. And this is the case her, it sounds better, and is much clearer. For a 30 dollar just it’s better. And you could have got it on Black Friday and cyber Monday for 30 dollars more.
I just got the frames with the echo dot. IT seems like we have to be on the alex app for both? I can't figure out how to use them without being on the app. The App drains your battery . The old echo ( which I still have ) you don't have to be on the app. Or am I doing something wrong?

@@mysterious8058 Of course it does listen. How else would it know when you call for it? It does not have the computing power to understand what you are saying, so it sends everything it hears to a central data center where it gets analyzed and then a command gets sent back to the device.
Sure, you can unplug it, but as long as it is plugged in, it listens to everything you say and sends it over the internet.
