- In one of the largest displays of Vintage Corvette Racecars in history, dozens of Corvettes landed at Road America in 2011. The re-dedication of the Corvette bridge, as well as the 100 year Celebration of Chevrolet, it was a historical weekend I'd never forget. In this video, see some of the most amazing Corvette racecars in history; hear the sounds of C2's and C3's, even C6.R and more! This was an American Lemans Series weekend in August 2011, and a weekend for the Registry of Corvette Racecars and Jan Hyde to make history. I was there and I will never forget it!

I don't know why do people post "First!" in the comments, but here I am...
lmao...me either...gotta do it though if you can...lol.
Great story and what an experience that must have been! I'm a 70's guy (high school class of '74) and was a Corvette freak since a kid (Route 66 was my favorite TV show). I love metal bumper C3's with big flares and side pipes and that car you got to drive is exactly what I'd want to build. At some point I might sell my C5 so I can build one.
Nice that you were able to get video of the event too. Thanks for sharing that with us.
It's definitely nice to go vintage, and use some modern tech to extract performance. I think the cage is definitely the game changer on the older chassis. Adding in stiffness and rigidity, with a competent setup makes the car very fun. The steering wasn't the greatest, in terms of quickness, but that car was built to a certain era spec. My C5Z is quite a car, as it's put together now, but as raw as the C5Z can be, nothing compares to a gutted racecar.
This was quite a beautiful video. You managed to communicate those emotions...
Thank you for that comment. Was definitely quite a day for me. Hope I have more ahead in my future if I can make this UA-cam gig work out...lol.
Great Video Thanks 😊
Tryin early upload to give East Coasters something to watch with breakfast...lol.
great job with the presentation of this beautiful race car
Little late to this video... great memories that you will definitely treasure forever... you know I got a soft spot for a “rise from the ashes” story!
I know you do! Nothin better than the story of a great comeback, beyond anyones expectations!
Outstanding. Thank you for making this video.
Thanks for watching! I actually redid it 2x...I was struggling with a few things but, I like how it turned out. Took me all day...ughhh...345am upload, started editing at like 5pm....lol.
Awesome video. Love the backstory of the car and how you got involved with it. Road America is my "home" track. However, I missed this event in 2011 unfortunately. You can even see the infamous crew chief Dan Binks of Corvette Racing team standing in turn 5 on that day. I appreciate your passion for Corvettes, as I have a C4 myself that I enjoy working on and driving. Love the video format. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for watching! Great day, and deserved a good video and story. Lots more Corvette and car stuff ahead.
Great video. Looking forward to many more. Thanks
Working on a real interesting one here discussing EV's and the acorvette future. Also have some C5Z and C6 stuff ahead. Just gonna keep on pumpin along. Trying to make a deal with this local shop that does consignment in rare cars, collectors, etc. See if I can get access to some different stuff. Thanks for watchin!
Happy New Year Mr. Knight. Well done video. Love the Vette content!
I try. Gotta mix it up to grow the channel and reach new people, but I will always keep the core Corvette. Lots more comin...
Great story, thank you for sharing it.
Great channel 👍
Appreciate it...lots more comin!
Super rad!
9:50 I met with Dick Gulstrand down at his shop next to Traco Engines. I wanted him to race prep my car but he was too expensive for me.
Haha, thats funny. Well, when you get to a stage in the game, you get to pick and choose customers...based upon $$$...lol.
wassup Damian!!
Veeeeda! I've waited for you to arrive!
