Mechanical grip, tires, and weight is what's keeping this car on the road; no wings or ground effects. Driving skills to the max with handling this car.
Brilliant, thank you. Great memories of the Big Bore A, B production, A, B sports racer, A Sedan SCCA Nationals back in the day. So lucky to have seen it.
Wow, the moment at 2.40 minutes, just a near perfect neutral slide with a dab of power oversteer, fantastic! The car is surprising neutral and light to the touch.
I love all those who say he's not pushing it. He's sideways in a corner or two and he's running over 170 on bias ply tires. That guy is driving that car and doing a good job with it. This is proof you don't need rev match on new cars, you do it yourself.
It's all about driving for the fun of it. You don't need to ring the piss out of it to get a smile on your face. Just hearing that motor scream would make me grin ear to ear. The throttle wacking on the down shift is sexy as hell.
I like how he put some front brake in the car after going into the first 2 turns of lap 3. definitely see some oversteer in the wheel on heavy braking. Good job on those tires, definitely finesse there. Motor sounded great.
The best video I have seen a long time !! And if he does not pushing the car, I'm OK with that. It does not worth the risk. So beautiful car, he is just enjoying the drive....
My Dad took us up to the CanAm's in the early 70's. Canada corner, someone said it was named that for all of the Molson bottles left by workers...... true? Great memories, thanks for posting this.
Goodness Gracious what a beautiful sound! music to my ears. This is a real race car, as compared to the new breed of PlayStation cars that race now days and sound like lawnmowers. Thanks for sharing.
wow indeed so many people clearly dont drive hard in real life judging and pointing their finger yet they dont understand the weight of the car, the power, and the tires made to take a lot of heat and last a long time how slick they are and how much talent is actually needed to drive a car like this hard consistantly. i said it to a youngin just before he almost crashed my 87 rolla :this aint xbox: he knew exactly how it was after he thought he was better than driving
I was at this event in a newly completed A Production car. It was a blue 1969 Corvette with a 350 (running a rev limit for first miles). It was running all 70's era tech, per the rules. This car looks like a monster by comparison, making probably double the power but...I had a great time none the less. I have a video of my Corvette and the Corvette dedication if you click under my user name and look at the videos. That was a great weekend and re-dedication of the Corvette bridge. This car in this vid is a monster though...I remember watching it.
This dude has a Fastest Street Car shootout Vette also that ran low 7s in the 1/4 back years ago. One of the nicest Vettes ever built by anyone on the planet. Dudes slick.
You said it - BB chevy in good tune plays quite a tune-lol I love all great American cars but GM and Chevys have always been my faves, also BB Pontiacs are awesome, and I have to give deserved respect to Mopar, my own first hand experiences made me a believer - lol
this is by far the best sounding you tube vid i have heard, the exploration is every car guys dream, the deceleration compression is music,, what a great ride along thnx.
Could you imagine this car with upgrade shocks wheels & tires ... OMG Lemma at it .. The L88 when it's making RPM like's to wanna pull you out by your ball's It just has so much grunt but lacks the tire technology to really shine ...
This guy is blasting around this track damn fast. A very good run and the car sounds great and so is it's performance. This driver knows what he has and how to use it correctly. This car on a 2-3 mile straight would hit 200m.p.h. maybe drop the rear ratio to 3:36:1 to get that speed.
Thanks for letting us close our eyes and pretending to be at the wheel of 700 ponies! :D Cmon you know you were sitting on your couch shifting and steering!
At first I was thinking he was a little slow getting into it coming out of the turns, but now knowing he was using vintage tires it's best not to overheat them by spinning unnecessarily. Once they get hot they start to get greasy and spinning out is easy.
Would say Brent has some " grande culhones". 700 hp in a car with really bad bias ply tires? What a sound though. Even the great 2017 Z1 camaro with 620 HP does not sound like this. This is how I remember the 427 1967 Vette sound.Could bring down a small building.
LOL Super T10, 3.55 gears and he downshifts into second at 100 mph. Downshifting into second is what we do on the street when we make a turn at an intersection.
Everybody's a critic. I wonder what Jim Henson has done that's so great. A classic big block Corvette, I don't blame the guy for not driving balls out imo it's not worth the risk. Common sense it's not so common these days. The man in the Corvette qualified at #2.
dam should of kept on it you had that mustang you owned him on the next corner any ways, are you running a dry sump system ? if no id get one, make way more hp and guarenteed oil never fail due to oil sloshing around crank never hits the oil that robs power when it does,..... love big block chevys ,.... but you what would be kool is dump in a new lsx454 crate motor with dry sump 770 hp and its a small block gm high perf parts crate motor thats the ticket 6 bolt mains get serious power nelson racing twin turbos way bad ass 2500 hp
If only GM would have supported factory racing in the 60's the cars they would have produced would be INSANE they had the first turbo cars, Grand sports mid engine AWD concepts would have been crazy
Mechanical grip, tires, and weight is what's keeping this car on the road; no wings or ground effects. Driving skills to the max with handling this car.
A V8 is my favorite music instrument!
What a ride!
What a drive!
Thank you for allowing me to run around the Road America in your Corvette.
Peace
Brilliant, thank you. Great memories of the Big Bore A, B production, A, B sports racer, A Sedan SCCA Nationals back in the day. So lucky to have seen it.
Man! What a vid! Really! Super nice sound of that 427 ci BB, as well as the driving quality of the Driver 👍🏼
Wow, the moment at 2.40 minutes, just a near perfect neutral slide with a dab of power oversteer, fantastic! The car is surprising neutral and light to the touch.
I agree!
I love all those who say he's not pushing it. He's sideways in a corner or two and he's running over 170 on bias ply tires. That guy is driving that car and doing a good job with it. This is proof you don't need rev match on new cars, you do it yourself.
Yeah it also has 700hp, I'd love to see these critics try it for themselves, but that would just be a waste of a beautiful car lol.
Are they really using bias ply tires?!
It's all about driving for the fun of it. You don't need to ring the piss out of it to get a smile on your face. Just hearing that motor scream would make me grin ear to ear. The throttle wacking on the down shift is sexy as hell.
What's a rev match?
this is the car: www.mlive.com/autoracing/index.ssf/2010/08/muscle_cars_show_their_power_a.html
Music to my ears

totally cool!!!!!!!I Love these "ride along" videos and they are really good when they are a track you are familiar with
The mechanical music of the 427.......speachless. Too much fun.
That was the coolest thing I've seen in months, thank you very much!!!!
+Matt Kenny spec ford racers are good on here also.
I love the SRF races, RacerX (Phantom9192) has some great videos of them.
I could listen to this all day.
Great driver! Perfect domain of the beast. It was a pleasure to see and hear the perfects punta-taccos. Thank you!
That's an extremely healthy sounding engine .
Nothing can beat the sound of the 427's
You`ve got a point: ua-cam.com/video/VJ59hYvc8T8/v-deo.html
Pure magic, thank you for sharing
What a fabulous ride. Thanks!
one of my favorite videos. thanks.
What a beautiful sound!
B R A V O.... ! fantastic...! getting goosebumps just listening to this. ....One million thank you for sharing this, beautiful noise
absolutely incredible!!
What a BEAST. Thank for upload this.
Thank You for the Ride and Very Cool
The best video I have seen a long time !! And if he does not pushing the car, I'm OK with that. It does not worth the risk. So beautiful car, he is just enjoying the drive....
What a glorious noise!
My Dad took us up to the CanAm's in the early 70's. Canada corner, someone said it was named that for all of the Molson bottles left by workers...... true? Great memories, thanks for posting this.
Enjoyed on my new headphones! Oh my! Thanks!
Goodness Gracious what a beautiful sound! music to my ears. This is a real race car, as compared to the new breed of PlayStation cars that race now days and sound like lawnmowers. Thanks for sharing.
Great track, nice ride.
Ive watched Brent drive he knows how to use his equipment and he wins....notice he qual'd #2 in this vid
That's what keeps the heart ticking, nothing better
dam this was pleasantly good, watched the whole thing and wanted more.
Well sorted out car. Very accomplished driver.
Wow!! and the sound!
ive always loved the naturall inspired v8s
wow indeed so many people clearly dont drive hard in real life judging and pointing their finger yet they dont understand the weight of the car, the power, and the tires made to take a lot of heat and last a long time how slick they are and how much talent is actually needed to drive a car like this hard consistantly. i said it to a youngin just before he almost crashed my 87 rolla :this aint xbox: he knew exactly how it was after he thought he was better than driving
An absolute beast
Torque oversteer for days. Great vid, thanks.

I am clicking right now!❤
The revs remind me of the movie Bullit chase scene through San Francisco streets.
427 nuff said.
You should look up a vid of the SVRA group 6 on watkins glen running a C3 chopped roof with a 427 it's intense
This dude has a Fastest Street Car shootout Vette also that ran low 7s in the 1/4 back years ago. One of the nicest Vettes ever built by anyone on the planet. Dudes slick.
"Such sweet sounds of mechanical thunder"...... on the rear deck of Dan Gurneys Plymouth..................@ 1968
Nicely done - very easy to mess up 4th to 2nd downshifts and get the back end hoping and he did not do that. Well done!.
wonderful sound therapy :)
AMSR
That was glorious!
The engine was built by Performance Restorations in Mundelein, Illinois
Eargasm , That L88 Is plain Nasty , omg !!!! 🤩🤩🤩🏁🏁🏁 pull out that super t10 and put back in the M22 rockcrusher, we want some gear whine too 😍😍😍
That looks serious fun.
This is awesome
I would love to see him on that road course with his 68 Chevelle
You said it - BB chevy in good tune plays quite a tune-lol I love all great American cars but GM and Chevys have always been my faves, also BB Pontiacs are awesome, and I have to give deserved respect to Mopar, my own first hand experiences made me a believer - lol
Great c2 427 my man and great race
Road racing is so much cooler than drags or NASCAR. Just the sound alone is much more soul-stirring.
winner,, the sound,, the performance of this car,, the car a old vette,,, this is winning :)
this is by far the best sounding you tube vid i have heard, the exploration is every car guys dream, the deceleration compression is music,, what a great ride along thnx.
Could you imagine this car with upgrade shocks wheels & tires ... OMG Lemma at it .. The L88 when it's making RPM like's to wanna pull you out by your ball's It just has so much grunt but lacks the tire technology to really shine ...
great stuff

Those first 2 laps were hard driven even with traffic.
Seems like he would have been good to have on the L88 teams at Sebring, Daytona, Lemans back in 67
I'm watching in 2021!
Awesome!!427
Engine must me stroked to get a 427 to wrap the rpm's that fast. Interested what kind of trans too.
"If the Holman Moody Mustang is here, we might as well put it back on the trailer"...
Turn 6 at Road America is hard. This driver does a good job with a car that can easily oversteer.
wow, that 427 ran clean for a long time
Nice! Would like to have seen the car from the outside!
Pure muscle.
symhpony with this 427,what setup is this beutiful engine?! wow
But a period correct 65 Vette don't have a 427 but a 396....the 427 came 1966.
Nothing sounds as sweet as a big block Chevrolet power!!!
nice driving
Snarly, nasty beastie. I love it!
Thanks for letting us close our eyes and pretending to be at the wheel of 700 ponies! :D Cmon you know you were sitting on your couch shifting and steering!
I watched this for the first time today 4/20/2022 and kept thinking to myself "How WOULD I drive a million dollar 427 Vette around Road America ?"
At first I was thinking he was a little slow getting into it coming out of the turns, but now knowing he was using vintage tires it's best not to overheat them by spinning unnecessarily. Once they get hot they start to get greasy and spinning out is easy.
Nice. Who built the engine?
imagine how fast they'd be if they had real tires on these things, 700 horse and bias ply skinnies would be scary as shit, awesome non the less
Goodyear Blue streaks are a historic racing tire.
Would say Brent has some " grande culhones". 700 hp in a car with really bad bias ply tires? What a sound though. Even the great 2017 Z1 camaro with 620 HP does not sound like this. This is how I remember the 427 1967 Vette sound.Could bring down a small building.

Sick 👍🏻🇺🇸
I wanna drive that
Yea..that's what I'm talkin bout...
Bad ass...
The exhaust plays bass the tires sing falceto

Cool, their website seemed more like fabrication, restoration, paint and body stuff.
dam should of kept on it you had that mustang you owned him on the next corner any ways, are you running a dry sump system ? if no id get one, make way more hp and guarenteed oil never fail due to oil sloshing around crank never hits the oil that robs power when it does,..... love big block chevys ,.... but you what would be kool is dump in a new lsx454 crate motor with dry sump 770 hp and its a small block gm high perf parts crate motor thats the ticket 6 bolt mains get serious power nelson racing twin turbos way bad ass 2500 hp
Looks like he's got a good bit more horsepower than brakes. Not a surprise, but he's definitely having to get on the picks early.
If only GM would have supported factory racing in the 60's the cars they would have produced would be INSANE they had the first turbo cars, Grand sports mid engine AWD concepts would have been crazy
PASSED 2 PONY CARS WITH THAT HORSE
That Boss 302 is pretty fast...
ill probably go broke, but shes gonna be worth it!
700hp on bias ply tires lol
That engine is not making anything even close to 700hp. To get a NA 427 700hp you would have to spin way higher than the 6000 or so revs this turning.
@@GlassTopRX7 it said at the beginning 700hp @ 7100rpm
Goodyear Blue Streaks are vintage road racing tires. Not the same as the bias ply street tire from 1970.
@@SS454LS6 the op is right on both counts.where did he say those are street tires...
@@GlassTopRX7 I wouldn't argue that, a L88 did anything from 525-585 with a mech cam.
FUCK YEAH!!!!!
What sweet sweet sound that comes from that car!!! And to the 12 dislikes!! Your nothing more than bugs in my grill!!
The dislikes come from either the deaf and dumb and the drivers behind him who couldn't catch him.
Merica!
at 5:23 his steering wheel is straight but the car is turning the corner. full drift mode.
I came five times just from the engine sound.
I noticed the car is sliding through the corners and he's basically steering it with the throttle! Looks like it's set up really loose!
i think it has 8 inch wide tires on it,, id say he is doing great.
