# I had a show cow that LOVED M&Ms! All you had to do was shake a bag of them and she would find you, and was always wanting more. If you had a 1 pound bag, she would try to get into it. Cows do have a taste for sweets!
One thing I love about your vids is it's like hanging out with a friend. You always keep us included as if we were standing right there. I could comment this on every video but your appreciation for old stuff, the technology of it, or the architecture of the old barns etc. is wonderful to see. Brent (who I like more and more as I see him) is blessed to have you. So many people just want to do what is expected and duck out right after. You want to do everything that is needed and learn everything that could be helpful, and are never afraid to crawl under a dirty chassis....🤔 or a manure pit 🤷♂️ to do what's needed. it's absolutely evident that you care so much about the girls as well as Brent. Pretty amazing are you. Have a good one!
Hi Taylor, I’ve said it before I’m still impressed how well you and Brent work together. Glad all the hard work came together for milking. Stay safe! 💕
Tie stall/stanchion barn milking is probably the hardest job in the business. I was told it's "AyRshure" not "ASHshire" by someone who not only raised them, but actually went to Scotland. 😂 Not a gripe, I love how people from different places say things. I'm from the South, and we have a different dialect. Love y'all's videos!😂😂👍👍
Good morning Taylor Very educational about the milking and the machine technology You are already well on your way to being a great dairy farm owner !!😊 Keeping it real !! Enjoy your day
Taylor your videos are never boring. It’s because of you and other farming channels that I watch that I’ve come to realize how critical the AG and Dairy industries are here, and more so the family owned farms. Watching your videos are like spending time with your closest friend. You’re a blessing Taylor! 😉👍🏻
Great job Taylor, your Videos are never boring! Seems Greta is kind of boss in your herd😅, she reminds me of my favorite cow Gaby😔- she was always totally pissed when she didn't make it on the 1st place in the parlour🐄💯 Keep up your great work
Hi Taylor, thanks for taking me along really enjoy your videos and any part of farming isn’t boring to me, I used to hate working in the milk room in the summer, winter was nice but regardless of the season the work had to get done
Nothing boring about anything you and Brent are doing Talyor! I watch you and Brent scrap up watery cow crap off the pad and enjoy it just as much as anything else because it farming in its purest form in this day and age! Riding on the tractor mowing... awesome. Riding in the tractor scraping up poop SWEET! Sitting beside a cow just chilling and talking.. Good times!
Taylor you may be small but you are strong and do a heck of a lot of work. I hope that you and Brent get to enjoy Labor Day with your families. Actually farmers labor every day.🐄🚜😉🇺🇸
Good afternoon ma'am. My name is George Netroe. Urbana Va. Just discovered your channel. You are simply amazing at your work. I not sure if any of us understand not only is your work hard. But the time you put in to film for us to bring us along. I know nothing about Maine. I feel like I already want to visit. Definitely a fan for life. Gotta a lot of catching up. Thank you for giving us farming. George Netroe
Happy Labor day Tay and Brent and families. Greta will get a sweet tooth and expect tootsie rolls and snuggle time. Your videos are never boring, I am glad you show people all the diverse things you need to do on a farm. Hope you guys all stay safe and healthy.
Great video. Heifers looking good. You can tell the cows trust you. When you call them, they look and come over to you. We used milking pails and had to wash them every time we milked. They held about 50 to 75 lbs. of milk. We would then pour the milk though a funnel and filter into the large milk cans. Lots of physical labor back in the 40's and 50's. Wouldn't trade it for anything. Nothing yo film is boring. Especially if you grew up on a farm. Rainy days are a pain. But there is always work to be done. Have a great day and God Bless.
Hey, here's an idea. Find a person who plays a musical instrument, have them come and play while the cows are out in the field and watch them all rush back to listen to the music.
Hi Taylor and Brent what beautiful video plus you’re video is never boring love how you both talking while you’re both working Add hanging out with Greta and as always you both safe 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Always look forward to your videos Taylor, never boring, as you well know that some aspects of farm work are repetitive and can be mundane but it is always important and joy to be found in it .Best wishes
Hi Taylor. Being on the tractor IS great, but it's actually this kind of stuff that really gets my gears turnin, because I know nothing about it. It may sound silly but I actually take notes and at night I look it all up. I wish I knew of a trusted place that had all this info in 1 place. The milking inflation's look like massive modular Ford coil packs, look up 5.4 coil packs... It's uncanny. Lastly I can't believe Greta eats tootsie rolls, what a nut 😋haha. The show must go on! Hope y'all have a great day!
My experience with milk machines back in the 70's was using Bou-Matic milkers with 01 Delaval shells and liners. We would boil them and then soak them in lye water which would rejuvenate them and give a couple extra weeks of use. The Bou-Matic milkers featured a 60% rear and 40% front pulsation, characteristic of milk production in most cows. We also used peanut hulls instead of shavings for calf and heifer bedding which were very reasonable in Dixie land in those days. In the deep south, most cows never saw the inside of a free stall or "tramp" barn, thanks in part, to mild winters. Thanks for the memories!
All that milk and cream make the best mocha. Nice cleaning video a good reminder of how sterile dairy farms have to be. In behalf of all specialty coffee drinkers we salut the cows and farmers for your hard work.
The barn looks awesome young lady great job. Be careful with that lime in will burn you and fry your lungs. Glad to see you wearing a mask. 👍👍👍👍👍. Everyone in Northeast Arkansas says hey Taylor especially Miriam 🤭🤭🤭😁😁🙋♂️🙏🙏🙏🙏🐄🚜
Lovely to see my favourite farm hand working hard, not wishing to be predantic but the spoken word for Ayrshire sounds like AIR-SHEER, still, glad to see all the cattle are well.
My Uncle Back In The Day Had Cow Mattresses Installed in the stantions in his barn so the cows were more comfortable while they were laying down.......he also used sawdust also before he tried cow mattresses.......
& changing milker rubber liners yup been their done that too 👍🏻 triangle shaped liners he/we used........he's retired now n solely raising beef cows......
We use to use hydrated lime. In winter though if you use too much or not enough bedding over it, we had teat end issues getting dried out with the cold. Freestall barn. Dries the teat out too much and damaged and cracked them.
You are an anomaly Taylor. Loved by many you will never meet. Brent right? He doesn't waste movement. Like he's done it before. Some of my first work was on farms and in gardens. I really enjoy your content. Thank you.
Taylor our vet had us use pieces of newspaper cut in 12” squares to wipe tests on our cows, within two weeks our incidence of mastitis stopped. It also improved test health and the skin on the tests all from the ink in the paper. Try it you may be pleased with the results. Good luck
Aa-sheer Air-sheer....it's all the same thing. No biggie. Some parts of the country they say ya all and every body knows it means you guys. When I worked on a dairy farm when I was a kid we washed everything down with iodine. After every milking out came the iodine. Used it to clean everything. Old school I guess.
Could there be nutrients in the sawdust for the calves? I don't cate for the vanilla chews either. Greta does not mind them. I lived on three farms in my younger days. Your videos take me back. My sister & I named our cows many years ago. When it comes to cattle, thete is some animal training to do.
Yes, your pronunciation of Ayrshire has been very funny, but I kept quiet. Never heard Ai SHURE before. Ayrshire is pronounced AiR-SHURE after the County in Southwest Scotland where the breed came from. As a boy the farm in England (Swindon, Wiltshire) had 121 milking of which about 40 were Ayrshire, 40 Guernsey, 40 Jersey (all pure breeds) along with probably about 1,000 chickens, 2 pigs for leftovers, and a couple hundred turkeys for market in the fall. Our equipment was a Fordson tractor, and a Massey Ferguson Combine Harvester. People don't appreciate the amount of work required for a dairy farm. You give them valuable insight.
Loved the part with you and Gretta ❤❤❤
You and Greta hanging out eating Tootsie Rolls made me smile.
Never boring Taylor, always wonderful. Thank you so much for your videos!
Nothing better than a new TayFarms video with my first cup of morning coffee.
👍🏻😁 thank you so much for farming along with us!!
Brent Runs That Skidster Like A...Pro..!!!

I'm from southern NH and I 've always said and heard ash-ere as well. Might be a New England thing.
Cool barn set up
SWEET you have a Ayrshire!

At what age, do the girls start producing milk? Enjoy you and Brent, being and doing things old school.
Just before first calving
Great question! Around 2.5 years old, can be older for some and younger for others depending on their size. So glad you enjoy watching 😃
