“That’s a Favre like throw”
Crazy how times change. Now people say
“That’s an Aaron Rodgers like throw”
Jesse Lee lmaoo idk where you’re at but people in Az definitely say that shit lmao along with literally everyone else
Favre had a cannon of an arm, guts, and that's where it ends. Rodgers has a cannon, laser like accuracy, wheels, and most importantly brains. If he didn't have to sit behind Favre for 4 years he'd probably beat every record Favre owns, well.... except for 1.
@@BradyIsAfagInHeat most consecutive starts?
@@hkarmy96 longest time between passes to the same receiver, both of which were to himself and 17 years apart i think lol
@@BradyIsAfagInHeat Rodgers can't run to save his life, actually
Not running at least one more play before halftime was the most Mike McCarthy thing ever.
because he was a master of halftime adjustment . Mccarthy gets no respect and he is one of the Packers great coaches !
@@jesusoftheapes True, but his best qualities couldn't save him from his worst.
@@Saltiren I think he got hosed . And while I did support the change when it happened Mccarthy was given no talent for to long and eventually not even a great coach can win with old schemes (which Phillban brought back to Green Bay and Capers thrived on ) . Mccarthy was handicapped by an injured Rodgers, a GM who was still in charge while suffering the effects of a couple strokes and a bunch of bad free agent loses that shouldn't have happened pretty much chopped Mccarthys chances at another ring in Green Bay off at the knees . Mccarthy will be a successful coach someplace else . I believe that and Packers fans owe him nothing but gratitude and recognize him as one of the best Packers head coaches in the history of the team !
Fuck that guy
jesusoftheapes I agree, but his offense became extremely stale and predictable and his game management became worse and worse as the years went on. He just kind of lost his touch.
This Packers team was probably the best 6-10 team in NFL history. Positive point differential, top 5 in scoring, 4000 yard QB, 1000 yard RB, 2 1000 yard receivers, top five in defensive interceptions, the list goes on.
Makes sense since they won the super bowl two years later.
That defense literally just could not hold leads. They lost so many games right down at the end.
Couldn't win close games
They were losing game by an avg of 3 points that year.
It was better than the 13-3 team they had in 2019.
As crazy as it is, Aaron Rodgers' first TD pass as a starter is still one of the best throws of his career.

mason crosby tackling jared allen at 6:40 is the epitome of bravery
If he had sprinted amd doveto win the fumble, or actually tackled allen id agree. But it looks like he jogs over, doesnt dive, then just trips him up
He always tries and often does tackle guys on returns. Wish more kickers/punters did that
The amount of tackles that would be penalties today is hilarious. Man I miss those days
Or "holds" or "late hits" or "roughing QB" or unnecessary roughness... Patriotsgame last night a ravens player PUSHED... Not tackled... A player out of bounds he fell down they call unnecessary roughness

I too miss the good old days where men received severe brain damage for my own personal amusement
It a physical sport and unfortunately the risk that you may develop CTE in retirement after playing is a thing we need to accept but they’re being paid millions of dollars to play. Boxers, nascar drivers and even soccer players get CTE but they’re sports aren’t being scrutinized for it.

I was at this game, and there are 2 moments I remember very vividly. During the break between the 1st and 2nd quarter, a Cowboys fan (don't know why he was there) telling me Rodgers had a weak arm and couldn't throw deep, then Rodgers promptly completing that bomb to Jennings at the start of the 2nd quarter. And the TD throw to Hall, that was the moment I knew the Packers had something special in Rodgers.
I remember driving home as a 16 year old and hearing we drafted rodgers on the radio. i was so stoked. I called homer and got ridiculed for 3 hours b/c i said Rodgers should be the starter and ppl were very mean about the high register of my voice. Long live A-Rod!

Kornheiser was a Favre ball washer. he was going to bring up Favre as much as posslble to the point where jaws just told him to shut up.
8:07 What a beautiful play-call, throw and catch from Rodgers to Driver.....obviously it got called back, but it's rare you see a play like that during a QB's first start. Then again, Rodgers himself is pretty rare...

he worked a lot on his mechanics while sitting on the bench. Mccrappy and the qb coaches completely changed his throwing mechanics in those years. applying them in game was the most important aspect of the 08 season. by 09 he was really starting to find his groove and obviously by the time they made the playoffs again in 2010 he became one of the baddest dudes in NFL history to ever flick the pigskin.

AGK927 and also calling him the best right now is a bit far fetched, we got Patrick Mahomes just now entering in the league, Tom Brady hasn’t retired yet, same with drew brees. And to be honest although, Aaron’s numbers were big. He didn’t have that great of a season last year.

When Rodgers took over was such a fun time to be a Packers fan. As much as I loved Favre, it was so cool to witness the new era (I was too young to witness the beginning of the Favre era). I think we could be seeing the same thing in terms of the new head coach and coaching staff. I'm very excited for this season. GO PACK GO
Rodgers looked so much better then than love did today against the chiefs. The proof is in the pudding. Green bay front office fucked up for like two years straight.

9:02 Will Blackmon. One of the greatest athletes ever to come out of Bishop Hendricken.
In mass?
There's also a highlights reel of Brady's first start, and I was struck by the differences. Rogers had had three years of sitting on the sideline, and now he was the crown prince taking over for the king. He was drafted in the first round, was always someone to be watched, and had known this moment was coming for months, ever since Favre announced his retirement. His victory was welcome, and enjoyed, and everyone felt relief that he could, indeed meet a high standard. He was clearly a star.
Brady was taken in the sixth round, no one thought much of him, he'd been given the starting job with a week's notice after Beldsoe's injury, and no one expected anything from him. He was facing Peyton Manning and the Colts. At that point, a number of analysts ranked the Colts within the top three teams. Patriots were at the bottom. We're accustomed to thinking of the Patriots as the top team, but people said they were made of cast-offs, rejects, and losers.
Rodgers made a much better show as a first time starter. He threw some beautiful balls, he understood exactly what he needed to do, watching him is a joy. He could run and move to a startling degree. I only wish he'd had better weapons around him. I don't know how he dropped that far in the draft, but the Packers are fortunate to have grabbed him.
Brady, in that first game, depended, heavily, on a defense that suddenly came alive, and a running game no one suspected even existed. The fun of that clip is watching Manning's growing frustration, a defense no one believed in (that scored two touchdowns and forced two other turnovers), a running game that suddenly emerged (analysts, in discussing it later, couldn't believe it showed up), and unexpected qualities from a quarterback no one believed in. Brady made some good throws, made some good decisions, and didn't make any important mistakes. He wasn't Brady, not yet. That would emerge during the year. But even within that first game you could watch him improve.
Final score? Patriots 44, Colts 13. Manning scored one of those touchdowns himself.
Greg Jennings puttin the team on his back 😂😂
Back when we had a D. Good to see...2 years before the SB victory
This was when the packers had that magic about them

it's hard to argue he's thrown a better touchdown pass than this first one as a starter at 3:40. absolutely wicked angle that the ball is thrown at relative to the direction rodgers is facing, slips by 3 separate defenders fingertips, all while off balance. very impressive and beautiful to watch

That kid wearing No.12 has potential. ---- Some Packer fan in 2007.
No one talks about how fucking insane that rodger's first TD as a start was. No way in hell Favre could've ever made that throw. It wasn't favre-like. Favre had a cannon but he had a cannon ONCE he set his feet, he hardly ever threw across his body with no platform, while rodgers does all the time when under pressure.

For all the good Aaron Rodgers has been you have to begin to wonder if overall it’s been a disappointing career. Only playing in and winning one super bowl is disappointing considering he’s a top ten quarterback of all time. Obviously defense has been a problem but you would think he could of at least led them to another appearance at least in the big game.

Rodgers was and is great. From the start. Ppl who don't agree are not thinking clearly. Or just believing the narrative the analysts try to create. He was amazing this game
he had three years on the bench to become that great game 1
@@salamipitza for sure. He didn't look too promise in the preseason the first year or two. Not saying he looked bad but it was nothing to be excited about. But I remember his first meaningful playing time. Favre went out after a concussion against the cowboys after really struggling on a Thursday or Monday night game. Rodgers came in and brought them back, played way better than favre. Prolly would have won the game but the defense couldn't stop Marion Barber and the run. They killed 8 minutes and Rodgers never got a shot. But I could tell then he was prolly gonna be a hall of famer
