Don’t forget to support your neck. Bob was only doing these exercises briefly to demonstrate them so he didn’t have support under his neck. But it’s very important because not all of us have neck muscles that are that strong and you don’t want to strain them trying to hold your head up.
I’ve had back pain for almost 10 years now and these 2 legends have helped heal me better than any doctor I’ve been to
I too have back pain. I am guessing mine is due to weak glutes, trying to do this glute test to see how much down I am
@@Pulkit__7 result?
It was due to weak glutes only.
What I figured is doing normal gym exercises, which involves developing glutes helped me a lot. Note: I never do deadlift or anything major, just simple squats are helpful, then working on hamstrings and quads and abdomen
Any doctor just like any physio may not understand how to treat your issue. A person can just as easily say a doctor fixed their issue better than any physio
Thanks for this, Bob & Brad. I'm in my mid-40s and just noticed that my butt is starting to be a bit flat. Now I know the reason for my back pain and tight hamstrings, too. Thank you for all you do!
I love you guys. The two most jolly PTs on the internet!
In our opinion ofcourse :)
@@TaoistSwordsman haha
Sir, one suggestion. It would be better if you both talk less N demonstrate the exercise more.Nobody has patience to listen to what, how when that you talk about. Suggestion...
@@zahidameher1697 the talk makes it fun, slow down and enjoy the fun delivery and the usefulness of what they talk about, they are ace😃😃
Bob and brad, you two have great chemistry on screen. I hope that chemistry is true off screen as well.😊
I am a physical therapy student, and your videos are very helpful and informative. Thankyou!
Bob and Brad---you really ARE the "two best physical....therapists....on the internet!" (love your song!) I saw you're the best
because I've been to several physical therapists, ortho specialists, etc. for SEVERE hip pain. NO ONE has *ever* mentioned
the importance of the glutes !!! THANK YOU!
Always so freaking timely! It's bizarre how in synch your videos are to my body's needs!😳😍🙃
It's about time guys...
I love doing glute workouts. I had forgotten about the one where you lay on your side, that's a great one too. Always great to warm up and stretch after too. It's very interesting how Atrophied muscles can affect so many things. I've always loved to work out. My sister inspired me when I was very little, and that's lasted through my life. I inspired my daughter by her seeing me workout, and I've been still working on my son to get him to exercise regularly. He has a sit-down job, so it's even more important for him to take breaks and to exercise. When I sent my other sister a video of yours she said she already follows you guys😊
Thank you for making this video!
I've been going to PT for 7 months weekly for left hip, lower back pain. After testing the glutes, my left side is barely firing.
Good news, my PT already had me working on these.
I am so happy to find your suggestions to build muscle strength in the glutes!
Had TKR 3 months ago. It's like my glutes were removed during surgery 😮 thank you for the reminder to strengthen those as well as quads and hamstrings😊
I love all the information you two give us. I know it would take a lot of time but a video with all the best stretches from your head to your two would be so great. I would love to put it on and stretch along. Even if I can't get out and exercise I stretch. I almost think stretching is the most important thing to keep your body moving. Your two do a great job.
These two are not the only ppl on yt who share physical therapy suggestions. Stretching videos already exist on this platform, and there's more than you could take.
I love everything you say and do, but there is so much to sift through! Do you guys have a daily stretch and fitness routine available, DVD?
The chair is a great idea!
Great reminder!
I did this after my hip replacements.
My right hip feels sloppy. I need to do something!
I'm a runner and your two exercises are in my routine. Also low bar barbell squats done using Mark Rippetoe's Starting Strength method will massively strengthen the glutes.
You guys are awesome. I have learned so much by watching your videos. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Thanks guys. Needed this today!💕
Thanks guys, very informative
This explains so much. Thank you!
Wow this is helping so much
Your uplifting attitudes make my day, thanks for the knowledge!
Thank you... needed this!
great info. thanks
As always, Awesome Bob&Brad. I liked the exercises. Wishing you, many many more years as most popular Tag-Team therepists on the Internet :) ! Cheers!!
Great info thank you!
Great! Going to do these! Already doing one during PT.
Thank you!
Thanks for giving me reasons to keep up with my glute exercises!
I love you guys! You’re funny, motivating, and helpful! Thanks so much for your videos!
Thank you for these exercises!!
You guys are great, thanks!
Thank you for who give the advice free, sharing the experience and try to help people every were🙏🏼all the beast wishes and god bless.
a cattle prod has also been used for glute activation, with suprising results.
THANK YOU!
You guys really helped with my achillies pain -- which I no longer have -- so, thanks. And thanks for this this one too...
Thank you. In PT now for this very thing.
You guys are awesome!
Love and appreciate you two so much.💕🙏🏻✨
Excellent. Very helpful. Thanks. God bless.
Excellent physical therapist. Thankyou so much giving us good sound advice on how to look after our bodies
This was especially interesting and VERY helpful for my glute/ hip problems.....thank you!
Thank you Bob and Brad, you both are always so funny and entertaining as well as very informative.
I needed exactly this exactly now😮
I live you guys too. I really do 😂😂🤣😂 you help people while having a giggle 🙏🌼
I can’t wait to try this I have those problems from a injury I had 4 yrs again and could not find a solution. I sprung my ankle and the dr had me in a boot to long and didn’t want to put me in therapy cause of my age. They told me I will bounce back when I final took it off I walked with a leap. Then I got a lot of weakness in my knee, hip and lower back. I’m a cosmetologist so I’m always on my feet so I really hope this works for me.
Superb ❤️
I tried out that chair test you guys did and even doing a few reps of that can get your glutes firing for a nice warmup.
Bravo.👏
You both are great n funny the same time. 😃 Wonderful few exercises with smiles n jokes , can't say no to you guys I needed this knowledge. All of your vedio so informative n motivational for people who says" I'll start exercise from tomorrow". 🙃
Brilliant physiotherapists on the web x
Strengthen the whole posterior chain to compensate for all the sitting we do
learning to fire my ass and hams fixed my knee pain.
I find it amazing when that happens because I too experience knee pain.
What did they have you to do I have knee pain as well?
@@agoddesstouch4910 i started sitting then getting up from a chair. The difference being really flex your ass and hamstrings before you get up or sit down. It takes all the pressure off your knees and strengthens the muscles so you can heal. Took me 6 months.
@@agoddesstouch4910 they showed an exercise machine they have for knees where you sit down and move your foot forward and back. I just mimick that exercise without the machine and it works great. When I do it I do it on carpet with socks on so theres some resistance.
Thanks for the informative glute tips guys. I walk 3 miles a day and make sure I engage my abs by holding them in tight towards my spine, and engaging my glutes by tightening them with every step pushing me forward. I find this very helpful. I also engage my glutes with each step going upstairs, pushing through the heals and tightening the glutes with every step up. Abs and glutes are everything when it comes to a strong back.
These exercises are EXACTLY what my own physio had me do after I started a job where I'm sitting all day and they really helped me feel more balanced through my hips and lower back 👍🏻
Bob & Brads guide to getting THICC quick
I love u Brad
They always have the best body weight exercises
You guys are so funny! INdeed the glutes MUST be strong
Can you guys do a video on the upper cross syndrome also?
These exercises are is also very important for us swimmers 🏊♂️
Alas I had an unstable fracture to my fibula with talar shift. So needed an operation two after the accident. I had to keep my leg up above my heart for 8 weeks. Also non weight bearing for 8 weeks. Now walking but my left butt isn't engaging like my right butt.
Did you do any PT after thee weight bearing was lifted?
@@BobandBrad still waiting for physio, on the waiting list! I'm doing the bum lifts in the morning and night time when I am in bed, hope this helps!
I wish I could like this video twice. The similarity between shoulder and hip girdles can't be overstated. Evolution, using or reusing a pattern that works. Constant wonder and amazement, that :)
I do these often yet I still have slot of lower back pain and Im pretty sure the glutes aren't working right. Do you have a video of more advances exercises for these muscles?
my only issue w/ these exercises (except the clam shells) is that for many of us they are going to be working the hamstrings more so than the glutes b/c we don't know how to activate and recruit our glute muscles : (
4:55 -Find out if you need to work on your glutes
The last exercise done lying stomach down, lifting half-bent leg up and down, what if back of leg thighs cramp out??
I do that last exercise in a standing position and it really works. However, my hamstrings cramp easily and this exercise causes some discomfort at times.
tosue1 that’s because the glutes are weak. Keep going.
@@kward8996 so the hamstring cramping goes away?
Jannes yes. It’s just a symptom of weaker gluten and your hamstring reactions.
@@kward8996 k thanks
I am exited to get my glerts to work right!
Can zero Dorsi- flexion in the metatarsal joint decrease gluteus firing?
Best buns in the business, sprinters and ballet dancers.
Great! Thank you!
Do you guys recommend any electronic massagers? If you're allowed :P
Here's a link to our massager: amzn.to/2P3dwmm
Quite a few exercises to fire the glutes.
So the bridge is ok to do if you have degenerative disc disease?
I can’t get on my knees due to knee replacements, too painful.
What if your hip flexors are tight. Will that affect your ability to extend hip especially from prone
Yes, you end up hyperextending at your lumbar spine if hip flexors are tight
I HAVE ATROPHY IN MY GLUTES & CALFS PLEASE HELP ME.
I have a lower spinal fusion 🥺
I want to know more than I "need" to know.
My butt thanks you, Bob and Brad
while squating, my right glute apppear lower than left glute, why is that?
My glute max won't work I tried the exercise. Pls help
My glutes are all knotted up and painful, so much so they wake me up at night. How can I unlock the knots?
I fell down, and ever since I can’t seem to get anyone to be able to help, it’s like my nervous system is hyper sensitive now, my hips are swollen and I can’t ride in the car it just hurts to much, and I’m sleeping In the recliner as my ribs pop out if I lay down...really weird symptoms....I had limes disease and the COVID so I’m not sure if that has anything to do with it....anyways I’m looking for chair exercise for,the hip....I can’t lay down 🌺
Please look into getting myofascial massage therapy from someone who specializes in that form of massage. It's worth a try.
👍

“Glurts” hahahaha 😂😂😂
❤
Anyone have knee pain when doing bridges?
yes, if it's on the side of the knee (on the outside) it could be your IT Band causing the pain. Could be all sorts of things causing it, possibly weak glutes (to my knowledge). I found that turning my feet out slightly and moving them slightly further apart helped with the knee pain. I prefer the 'glute pump' exercise since it seemed to isolate it quite well without the knee pain

Should make a gleurt shirt
can weak gluetes cause knee problems?
Yes, whole kinematic chain gets affected .Other muscles over work to compensate
@@yashassu2772 ooh thanks dude
Which is best for bridges. Pushing off heels, flat-footed or balls of feet?
Balls of feet.... & alternative leg raises, my good brother !!
🕊️🎆🙏🏼🌟💓💐🎆🕊️
Nobody:
Brad: Sure.
LOL
Does walking help my glutes?
It does to a degree.
I (and most of the men in my family for generations) have had flat butts all of our lives. Always had to use belts or suspenders. Only one brother had a "nice butt" per the (then) wives....
I cant feel my left glute
Head down on mat to avoid neck strain
I like 'glurts'
