This game deserves all the praise for how good and effective it is. By far, the best Alien game ever!!!... Still hoping for a sequel.
I wish so much they would do it, but sadly i can't see it happening at this point. Good chance it would not live up to the quality of the original game and even if it was developed by Creative Assembly again, much of the people who were with them involved in this project, are no longer even with CA.
Nice review, though you failed to mention the biggest improvement of this port that convincingly puts its visuals above other console versions - the TAA. Feral got rid of the horrible pixel shimmer that existed in all other versions of the game, including the unmodded PC version, by improving the anti-aliasing with a temporal solution.
Superb game, instant buy for me.

Speaking of horror games where you need to be cautious and try not to get spotted, I played Remothered, a game I wanted to love since it borrows heavily from the infamous Clock Tower series, but apart from glitches up the wazu it is also plagued with a main character whose normal walking speed is a super slow tip-toe, and since the roaming old man who is after you has super human hearing, you rarely get away with running for very long. The best moment in my playthrough was when the old fart got stuck in a door and I then had complete freedom to run everywhere and solve the puzzles at hand, until the next cutscene respawned him.
Totally agree pal. I have that game and the old bugger keeps getting me such is the slowness of the protagonist 🤣

This would be day 1, for me, if it was physical. I have so much to play right now, I don’t need to add to my digital backlog with a relatively pricy port. I DO love all things Alien, and I DID miss this one on 360/PS3 and the subsequent PS4 re-release, so... I’ll wait for a sale, as per your recommendation.

I'm glad this game exists on the Switch. I have no regrets buying it. I just wish it was released as a physical copy.

How short is the game
Agreed. It feels really streched towards the end and lets you backtrack for around 3 unnecessary hours.
But for real alien fans it is still recommended.

I hate games which force you to press the analog stick in to run or crouch. It's so annoying. Can you change that in the game?

Hey man. First things first my money is not hard earn. I have a steady income without working. Second of all good review.
I love the authentic movie feel to it, I had it on the PS4 and I didnt finish it cus it was pretty difficult, I will get this day one for sure … I love how they have made the switch version even more tidy buy taking away all that nasty shimmering that the PS4 version was plagued with, here’s hoping the next Alien game gives me the pulse rifle to let rip with !! … the sound of that Rifle is still the best sound ever !

@@SwitchWatch yeah Aliens the directors cut edition is unbelievable by todays standards of cinema, the pulse rifle sounds and the elephant sounding screams of the xenomorphs as the bullets hit them is pure audio porn !! … glad I was a kid growing up through the 80s with parents who let me watch 18 cert movies as soon as the were out to rent on VHS :)
Feral Interacrive make a great job AGAIN. I have Grid Autosport on my Switch and is superb. Those guys want to compete with Panic Button and Iron Galaxy?

@@RedBullAddict-_- Saber Interactive did The Witcher 3 and also Ghostbusters. Feral did Grid Autosport. So along with Panic button there are 3 here that are doing some great ports.
@@SwitchWatch I forgot about Saber! I have Witcher 3 and is also stunning. We can trust on Switch versions made by those studios.
I would like that MK11 port was in the hands of Feral, Panic or Iron Galaxy, but It was on Shiver, who made a terrible job, I will never forgive WB and NetherRealm for this.

If you see a trailer that have eshop logo in the end, its mean digital only but there is a possibility that the game will be on cartridge in the future, only time can tell and hopefully it will

Game length wise, days gone went on a good while too long for me. Just all the wind blew out of the sails for the last section for me after such a great build up to the first antagonist just fell flat with gameplay and story

Alien Isolation Collection is £35 on Steam right now and only £30 for Switch so I think the Switch price is fair for a brand new Switch title that is one of the best looking games released so far. It's already £5 less than the current PC price. I'd love cheaper games but I don't think this one has a huge "Switch tax"

When u say it's long I think it goes on too much with the Android's they make too many appearances imo, the game is amazing as long as it looks on par with ps3 version I'm happy
Have a look at a few other comparisons, it looks the same as the PS4/XBONE versions, the PS3 version was missing loads of effects like dynamic shadows but the Switch is very similar to the current gen console looks.

Atmosphere and design HUGE 10/10. The detail is actually ridiculous and there are so many small things that will go unrecognized by most folks who play. My all time favorite space sci fi game... or game, period.

@@SwitchWatch Ok! There's one issue with the game but can be simply fixed. I beat the game but a few days ago but then now restarted it and the AI Voice Audio was missing. The only way to fix it is by restarting the game until Samuel or Taylor's voice audio is normal. If its normal than the game will be good. If you don't do that then you'll run into similar areas like that, that force you to reload cause the AI's will do nothing at all. So it's best to keep restating at the beginning till the AI voice audios good. That's the only issue though I found out and it took me only 3 restarts to get the game to normal. So go a head and let others know if you want to. Doesn't happen to any DLC.
