The Switch really going out of its way to prove that publishers/studios that claim they don't/can't release games for hand held gaming are just ABSOLUTELY LAZY.

@@Bluegrunt25 Downgrading is one of the easiest and laziest things you can do. Developing a new Alien game exclusive and optimized for Switch would be the real indicator of how much trust companies put on Switch
I know people complain about ports from the past generation but i missed everything from the 360/ps3 era. This is all new to me.

People will complain about everything. I wish we had more ports from the past three generations. I'll buy just about anything for the switch it's such a good system.
Even being an owner of all the PlayStation systems, I’m having a lot of “past” games missing from my collection. I’m more than happy of being able to play them on my Nintendo Switch. The only major drawback is the price 5 dollar on PSN games get when being ported... the so infamous Nintendo tax.

I finished this awesome game in PS4 back then, so I can say that no matter how old this game is, the production level of this game is brilliant and if someone out there who loves the franchise hasn't played it yet, PLEASE GET IT. For me it's one of the most underrated games of the current gen.

Playing hours?
J Arceno About 20 hours for the main game if you’re not into exploring every last corner. More like 30+ if you really want to see everything the game offers. The DLC episodes are quite short.
Oh I got it and finished it in 3 full days. I loved it. I give it a Triple-A rating. It's said to have 17 hours of game play but it depends how well you do pretty much. Like me for example. It took me around 30 hours because I died felt like hundreds of times and explored to backtrack.

Switch while the games looks great on Xbox one and PS4 the game is much better on Switch. The condensing of the game gives it much more Grimy and shadowy presentation which contributes to the game’s atmosphere

@@eastern2687 Just saying what would make my trifecta. But EA is fully capable themselves of doing the port. I just don't understand why they let the series die. Capcom resurrected RE from decline after 6 with stellar direction changes in 7 and RE2 Remake. Would be awesome for EA to do the same with Dead Space.

Trust me, remaster of a single player game that was closed by them due to flop in sales is the last thing in their list to pull up again as they think only about one thing - money
I remeber when i got my switch in 2017 i told myself if this game ever got the chance to come onto the system via hack or mod I'd so be willing to risk my switch for it. Here we are in 2019 and I still cannot fathom that this game is here. Thank you nintendo for making me excited about gaming again

- you introduce more points of potential failure, that is the card reader and the cards themselves
- increased headache of maintenance and taking care of the portable storage to ensure it is not lost, stolen and well maintained to prolong the lifespan of the hardware which in the future will inevitably fail.
- data stored in cartridges moves slower than data stored in the console's local storage:

In conclusion, it is much more beneficial to let Nintendo take care of all this headache for you and go digital, which has no physical lifespan attached to it and enjoy a better performance
2nd best game of this generation. Atmosphere, surroundings (the space station Sevastopol), Amanda Ripley and of course the Alien are superbly done.
@Wilbur Wafer I have to say RDR 2. Because that game had so authentic feeling world and npc's and it looked just beautiful. I propably have easily over... many, many hundreds of hours of gameplay behind me where i didnt do any story missions or anything. Just wonder around in that amazing world. That game set the bar for authentic world that feels lived, just like Alien Isolation set the bar for enemy ai.
It's an absolutely top notch game. Easily in my top 5 of all time (going back to the 1980's)

One of my favourite survival horror games ever, they really did the alien franchise proud and it’s a shame it wasn’t more widely recognised, I probably won’t get it on switch as I have it in PS4 but it’s impressive they got it to run on the switch so kudos to the devs!

I'm going to get this game. This game looks beautiful on the Switch. More ported games should look great especially in handheld, I play mainly handheld.

Ive went on a horror game spree, and I waited quite a while too get this one hoping it would go on sale. I paid full price and it was worth it
One major gripe I had with the PS3 version of the game was the load times. I don't mean loading screens, but that beeping that some doors do when loading a new section of your current map. I know that players and the dev team have both said that the game is designed to be best played on Hard mode. But I couldn't progress because some doors simply would not open in time - load times close to 20 seconds. Hiding and coming back would reset that timer.
When I switched to Normal, I could move forward, because the alien backed off long enough for rooms to load, but I feel like I really missed out on the intended experience.
I ran into this on two different PS3s, on digital and physical copies. Can anyone say if the Switch has any problems like that? I really love this game, and I am interested in picking it up if it runs right.

It is not just good, it's damn close to ps4 which I confirm as I have it on ps4 and ps3. Ps3 looks 50% worse than switch release. This is officially the best looking game graphicswise on switch to date.
@@eastern2687 - NICE! I actually bought a PS3 just to play Isolation. Then I levelled up to a PS4 and double dipped. Honestly, I think the game is so good, I'll happily triple dip on it. I simply never tire of it.

There are SO many great games available on the Switch at the moment, and SO many great deal on digital games at the moment. This game’s just come in a year late and %30 too expensive. Shame because I did regret not playing it on 360/PS3, or the subsequent PS4 re-release. I’ll wait for a sale, or the physical.

Negatives of handheld mode: When I shriek and throw whatever I'm holding, it won't be an easily replaceable USB mouse.
I dunno. I just don't know. :D Maybe next Halloween I'll try and get this in the spirit of the season. But it just looks suspenseful as all get out. I'd need to get a group together and play it. XD

Alien: Isolation was the first game I played on my PS4, and being able to play through it again on a portable console is a real treat. The graphics are absolutely stunning on the Switch. It's almost indistinguishable from the PS4 version.
Amanda Ripley is a great protagonist, just like her mom. I also love the setting of this game. Sevastopol has such a well designed and believable environment that's just like the movies, and I would've loved to see what it was like in its prime. And the atmosphere is so dark and intense that it reminds me of Doom 3 at times. And the Alien has such brilliant AI and always has you genuinely scared for your life whenever it shows up. It has to be one of the best enemies in any video game I've played, regardless of genre. In fact, I think I was spoiled by this game to the point where I just couldn't enjoy Prey 2017 the same way. The Mimics and Typhon in that game just don't give you the same sense of dread that the Alien or even the Working Joes do.
My only real problem with this game is that, like you said, the last part drags on a little too long. And I also wish Amanda could at least try to talk to the people with guns to say "Wait, I'm not the Alien!" or something else to make them chill out.
Handheld - That's what appealing to gamerz nowadays :). Now trying to rush thru Tokyo Dark Remembrance before playing this veeery soon
Really getting into this game again, but I’ve started to hear some weird bugs. The big scene with Marlow (shan’t spoil it for anyone) the sound was all messed up, with the helmet sound drowning out everything else. Also, a couple of key moments with NPCs failed to trigger, causing me to have to close and restart the application. And I’ve even had the game crash completely. I really hope Feral can patch this.
I'll wait for a sale. Although it is a great game and I haven't played it through yet, the price gap is just way to high. I mean, I have seen the game with all dlc for PS4 in the PSN Store for 8€, when it was on a sale last Christmas and 19,99€ for regular price. lol

Really enjoying this game on Switch. I was going to pick it up on PS4 for years, but never got round to it, glad im playing it now. I disagree with some people's opinion that it should have ended earlier.
The odd thing is that when browsing the actual Steam page, they still charge around $50 for the same thing. The game plus the same amount of DLC.
Does it come as a cartridge or you can only download it? It’s currently £14.99.

This really looks good on my switch OLED. I’d like to see games like this and maybe Ghostbusters game revisited on the OLED to get your all’s opinion on that. Does the old screen really a lot to it do you think? I think it does. I also have the Ghostbusters game. Amazing game. Doesn’t look like it was from 2009. Still was spectacular
Honestly the OLED is such a must I can't picture my life without it . Makes so many games look way better ESP ports . That's where the oled outshines the old switch . The oled makes a lot of ports better for sure

Hi, i read some message on reseterra and reddits about people complaining there is an imput lag on swtich (already present on ps4-xbox one but it's look like is worst here because of the implementation of the new AA system) someone said is like a delay of 1 second when they press the bottom, for someones they said is not a big deal, for other are saying the game is ruined for them , can you see if this staff is real? for me is a deal breaker and if it is real i will not buy the game at all, i prefer a worst grapich/framerate than have broken controls
I would've picked it up if I was into stealth horror genre, they did a fantastic port job. This port shows it again that if the devs are sincere enough, a lot of games can be ported to switch which were considered impossible.
Would it help if I said I hate the stealth horror genre... yet still enjoyed 2 complete playthroughs on PS4 as well as many chapter re-runs? If you like the original Alien movie... and you like Sci-Fi... then this game is unmissable.
The way I see this game is not a “stealth horror game”, but “the sequel the original Alien movie deserved”. Not that I dislike Aliens, but it moved to a very different beat, and this game brings back that original movie’s feel. That said... it does also borrow a bit from Aliens, but to reveal any more would spoil things.
@@happyspaceinvader508 The thing is, I really don't like slow paced stealth games. I even played Assassin's creed games without using stealth too much XD. I enjoy watching lets play of them but don't like to play them myself. I know it may sound weird XD but that's how it is.

That’s not a sound alike, they actually got Sigourney Weaver back to record for this game. For the DLC they even got most of the original films cast back too (Ian Holm allowed his likeness but they used a soundalike, John Hurt didn’t return but considering when the DLC takes place it makes sense for Hurt not to be there).
Looks like a great port that falls short on price. How many hours would it take to complete this Glen? Shame the digital only price is high but if demand is high enough, they'll release a physical soon. Cheers for the audio Mark and look after yourself Glen, peace.

Layton Lipke I’m really enjoying it so far! I’ve heard the main campaign is quite long and it also has all the DLC’s:) I think it’s worth it :) it’s a very well made port (it runs very well and looks amazing) and you could always play the game again in harder difficulties!

I hot swop between games but havent turned this game off for 2-3 days, it is much more tidy than the ps4 version, all the jaggies and shimmering have been cleaned right up, 10/10 easy, Epic game cant get enough ! I didnt play it much on PS4 but I am really really into it on the Switch, really amazing how the switch just amazes every month with something that you wouldnt expect to run and look as good as this on the Switch, I really am dying to see what games start looking like next year on this console, said it before and ill say it again … this console has got me back into gaming like nothing before it , 35 years of gaming owned every console ever released in that time and the Switch is the best console I have ever had, I reckon by the time I have had this for 10 days and my game time displays on my profile it will say 50-100 hours playtime already.

Classic film. Amazing game. Ouch price if you’ve already played it. Worth a pickup at 19.99 for a replay. But if you’ve never played 34.99 is ok.
Hard to believe all we are seing in this video is Switch graphics, but then again - there's a lot of dark areas on screen, maybe they played into this with the optimization.

Hmmm.... one thing really annoying me is that I can’t get the stun baron to work. It says it has 2 charges, but when I try to use it against a Working Joe, it does nothing except gently prod him in the ribs. :-(
I don’t even bother trying to attack the working joes. They are so strong. Stealth is 100% the way forward with everyone except humans at times. Glen
SwitchUp Normally, that’s what I do, but sometimes you get cornered by them.
SwitchUp Worked our what I was doing wrong... the baton needs to be used at a bit of a distance. If you’re too close, it hits your foe before you press the trigger. Also, aiming for the neck gets best results. However, if there’s an alien on the prowl, electrocuting and beating an android to death tends to attract its attention!

So basically for you dear sir, since the digital copy is rated 85% which is very high for digital version of a game the physical must be rated from you at a 90 or 95%?? Maybe it is worth 60 or $70 physical? What do you think?

I’m a big Alien fan but have never played this as I’ve only got a Nintendo Switch. Has the publisher stated a physical release is happening as would prefer a physical copy?
If this is what the Switch can do then I really want to see how well the Arkham games would hold up. Also, this confirms that Mortal Kombat 11 should have been able to look better than it does right now. No sky box in the krypt? Really?
henkman00 Asylum, City, and Origins shouldn’t be a problem. Knight might some work though. Remove the constant rain, maybe tone down the Batmobile’s tire smock, etc.

This one has been on my to be played list for years. This Switch port price hike is really getting annoying with some of these older games. Guess I'm waiting for a physical copy or when it's $20AU on the eshop.

Wow, I've literally never seen so much renewed attention with Alien Isolation on Switch, just lately. With all the Nintendo ads I've been getting, and umpteen user reviews, you could be mistaken for thinking it was a completely new game!
There's absolutely no disputing that Alien Isolation is an underated masterpiece, it's just a real pity that Sega didn't make this much effort with all the other platforms five years ago. But then again, I suppose having the festering corpse of Colonial Marines in it's wake, really did it no favours either.
Thirty quid is far too steep, but let's hope, if nothing else, that all this renewed attention might lead to a much deserved sequel, this time.
I played it in handheld on my Win 2
