My brother on the drums. Praise God
he is a genius
One of my fav drummers
Your bro is a genius! Respect
Hey Derek, your brother is a pure genius.
Derek and Eric! Let's go!!
The bells are awesome, hypnotic.
That bass drum hi-hat ostinato is so dope. I love how he takes a phrase and develops it into a sophisticated conversation with many layers of complexity built on the simple parts.
I saw Eric play a solo in Jazz Alley in Seattle in the last month. I am a drummer and I regarded it as the most brilliant solo I have heard. The reason I say this is that Eric was using double pedals on both the bass drum and the high hat. He was playing with his arch and heal with both feet. So the sound was as if he had two bass drums and two hi hats. Then he was playing so fast with his hands that the experience was like he was playing two complex solos at once. I don't know how a human brain can do this! I hope to get a video some day as I keep telling my friends what I saw. What an amazing musician!
As always, a blizzard of creativity, and dressed for a blizzard.
Eric Harland playing on a nice Yamaha Stage Custom bop kit .
This is gold !!
Those Drums sound like crap
@jack falco
Hi dear jack, I respect your opinion but I'm not agree.
Thousands of reviews everywhere about how good the Yamaha stage custom sounds.
This drum sounds as good as high end kit .
@jack falco
Of course it's not a craviotto cherry kit lol
What your opinion about PDP concept maple bop kit and the PDP concept classic Bop (Wood Hoops) ?
@@metothemoon1227 my comment applies only to the way the drums in this video sound. the choice of heads and tuning make all the difference.
@jack falco
Agree with you brother, I don't like the tuning on this video .
The floor tom is kinda dead loose.
I hate splash on snare drum. It sounds weird too
I don't often wonder what drumming outside the stream of time sounds like, but when I do...
My fav
The longer his beard grows, the wiser and more creative he becomes!
I agree 😊! Homes is putting on weight as well. Taking on the look of a wise Buddha 😊❤
@@robertmorrisey7140 haha, I like that, the wise Buddha of jazz drumming! I saw him live this last summer, with Chris Potter & James Francies (a memorable concert!), but he had ditched the beard unfortunately...😔
still love your drumming!!
Man I wish I could have seen this live!!!
Eric is truly a once in a lifetime talent lol he will go down In history books as one of the people that push art forward
Sounds like Marcus......Great solo, though.
Eric is a genius, never lacks of ideas.
But the floor tom is tuned kinda weird haha
Does anybody know what those bells/chimes are?
Both you and I just listened to that hailstorm. Don't get mad at me for mentioning it....
Awesome playing like always!
This solos is straight up innovative!
I guess he did not have the time to drop his coat, and his beard.... 😅😅😅
