God, the chorus to Mikasa, still gives me shivers when i hear it.
+Smithysmithin Except he can't sing it live... I really don't understand why bands insist on writing vocal melodies that they know they will not have the endurance to sing accurately live... Lukas is talented but God that bugs me...
Thats true there really aren't... kudos to him for at least being ambitious enough to try
same, I've actually started a nice little idea/project from the chorus and the word mikasa has taken on a new meaning for me. to me, mikasa means to achieve immortality through making small changes to your environment such as signing your mame on a wall. as long as that wall is up and your name is on there, you will live forever in the minds of those who see the your name, whether it be arranged in stones on a beach, on a wall somewhere, etc. that is what mikasa means to me and why I truly love the chorus so much.
+Smithysmithin i can literally repeat the chorus like 90000000 times
+Rhinma but im immortal
Such a good vocalist.
Dāvids Groza fuck yeah. Great cleans and uncleans.
No doubt!
Just a question. I do enjoy listening to this band but I have yet to actually listen to all their older stuff but I was talking to a friend of mine and he said that the old vocalist couldn't sing well so they didn't have cleans in their but they realiZed that Brandon could sing so they wanted to use that. So I guess my question is how true is that
***** true. Old guy could not sing.
Kouri Parrish well at least he didn't try right lol
Screams and sings live and it sounds perfect. This guy is magical.
+Justin Sparks you look like you'd like magical looking guys singing
+Darren Kristianson who doesn't...
+Darren Kristianson lol I can't even comprehend the point you were trying to make :P
I like this band, but this is trash live
Fuck everyone's opinion, I love the new VoM.
***** sameees
I didnt actually think he could do these vocals live, I was fucking wrong
Uh. He can't lol. He didn't hit a single note in either of those songs. The clean singing, I mean. It was so flat it ruined it.
@@andrewdickerson9133 sounds bad because its a live recording, you can tell what is bad singing vs. echooes diminishing a note. he actually did very well
@@andrewdickerson9133 I saw them a couple days ago. They were literally pitch perfect.
@@andrewdickerson9133 i think everything is tuned down a half step and he’s perfectly in tune. It’s not pitch perfect to the recording but in context it sounds right
@@andrewdickerson9133 old post but just saw these guys 2 weeks ago. Such an amazing vocalist live. amazing pitch and tone.
This band is so talented all the way around.
Mikasa, su kasa.
i was thinking the same
I see u everywhere
+MrCJduo
who?
+Rui Carneiro fodasse ahahah
+MrCJduo cooped I see you
I can't believe no one is talking about the bassist, he was going in
Luis Rivera every old school VoM fan loves Danny, give it time they're new fans :p
When the bassist has more strings than the guitarist! 😂
Actually it's as many
@@sabakun0gaara The guitar has only 6 strings here.
Thats a 7 string bass...somehow
But only plays the first two form the top 😂
new vocalist is fucking rad
This vocalist is flawless
+taylor goulart Except he's flat in the chorus. I like VoM but let's not get carried away here.
Chris White I think he did a great job, it's a hard chorus to sing.
Yeah of course it's hard to sing live right at the upper limit of your vocal range, particularly after screaming. I don't know why they didn't just play it in a lower key though; I'd rather hear this song played a tone or so lower and in tune rather than identically to the studio version and flat. Those soaring notes in the chorus are meant to be the big crescendo in the song after all.
+Chris White I think that high note in the chorus is the only one he couldn't get at that time. maybe the reason the didn't drop the tuning a step or so is because he can get it from time to time. people usually dont look too critically at how the singer is singing in most metalcore bands (look at how famous the Amity Affliction is and their bassist can't sing at all live) so they just let it stay how it is.
+taylor goulart all the cleans are a little flat, however I think more than his vocal range being pushed too much it's more likely that his in ears are a little crappy and not giving him a clear idea of where he needs to be, a lost of vocalists will pitch a little flat when they can't hear themselves clearly. The reason I think this is more that he's consistently flat rather than fluffing one or two notes.
I'm so proud a left handed drummer in a decent band finally
Don't forget Dan from After The Burial.
+Henry Jarnigan hes been in the band but yeah hes good, anf if im wrong... if this is a new drummer... the previous one was left handed.
+Michael Avalos it's still Sam
+Henry Jarnigan Chris Adler is a lefty
+Henry Jarnigan Dude, Cameron from BOO is a lefty but self-taught on standard set-up. Fuckin' props to that guy
I idolize those vocalist who can scream, low scream and clean on live performance.. Idol!!!
Marc is a straight up riffing machine
Lucas has some of the best live vocals I've ever heard - I'm extremely impressed.
Y'all I didn't even get past the ad and reading these comments I'm so hype to hear this will be back with an updated comment
5:07 i mean come on 😍
He sings so good live holy shit
hey b0ss
They are friggin amazing live, their new album has me hooked because this dude can sing his ass off
Bad fucking ass voice 🔥🔥🔥
Fucking awesome live performance of VOM
I like how he sounds better live
VengeanceAfter Right? His recorded lows aren't that great, but they're fuckin' beastly live. And them cleans though, goodness.
I would enjoy the album more if the lows in it were actually low. I have this same problem with northlanes node.
Lukas Magyar is such a good vocalist!
the fact that he sounds great live too is amazing
The singer has a way better stage presence than not so long ago ! It's great to see ! :)
what an amazing chorus mikasa has....and vom is superb
VoM's drummer is one of the best for this style of music!
One of the best sounding live bands I've seen yet and they use the houses system when they play.
Fucking phenomenal, I love the new album to death, and seeing they're so good live (in contrast to most of the scene's bands) is a pleasant surprise.
the bass taping
Even using a loop station they still sound so tight live. I'm very impressed. Dude can really sing too.
i was a little bit skeptical when i heard VoM would do clean vocals. Now, im a believer.
It works for them
good job guys
I think this just shows, that this new vocalist was the missing link.
This is one of the best live performances I've watched on UA-cam.
Whatever they say, Lukas Magyar is really doing a good job, it's flawed at some point but the spirit is there and he pulls it off
I love that he's one of the few modern metal singers that doesn't cup the fucking mic, it sounds so much better.
Lukas has a fucked up amount of stamina, damn. Such a great vocalist.
The chorus gives me chill bumps
New vocalist is a boss. Saw them live a couple months ago and it was amazing
2:13 god damn his cleans sound so goodies and hes not all shitty live like some vocalists
0:53 Danny just having some fun while playing absolutely flawless through the whole show
Oh CaliberTV you guys have come a long way with your filming/editing!
I saw them opening for Animals As Leaders in June. They were awesome, honestly I loved the bassist the most. He does all this with such little effort! A true pro!
Damnit, they were about to play Punisher :'(
Matthew Curtiss We have Punisher on our channel from this show :)
Oh awesome!
+Matthew Curtiss Go Hawks!
The way they immediately transitioned into Mikasa AHHHH
Lucy gives me so much chills when he starts the clean singing. Like fuck man.
One of the baddest bands around today. 🤘🤘🤘
5:07 i love this variation
4:53 amazing in this part
I think he uses false cord for his lows and fry for his highs in this one, but uses fry for lows in false idol
Or maybe not, this live confuses me
5:08-5:14 dem fucking riffs doe.
Those vocals are beyond the top
All being just these guys should be playing stadium shows. Lukas literally took these guys to an entirely new level.
I am thoroughly impressed
Really really good live vocalist
One of the best band today wow
Incredible vocals.
Tmnc, que vocal incrível desse cara
Seeing them tomorrow, I'm so fucking excited
That is a tight ass band
Haha damn his lows have come in nicely as fuck! So good.
Clarkzor Really though this show seems like everything was well balanced nothing was drowned out
fucking absolutly filthy spot on like the album much props x10
Mikasa has such a beautiful chorus
JESUS this guy sounds almost exactly like the album. Change in this industry usually sucks, this.... this is good.
I havent heard anything "new" from these guys and I'm happy with everything but clean vocals. Come on VoM:/ and all the techno stuff.
Best vocalist hands down in the scene, Lukas is a freaking beast!!!
0:52 sick polka grooves
I LOVE IT !
Left handed drummers make me uncomfortable
Supportfailure For real though.
I could not agree more. I couldn't explain why but they do.
He's killing it!
A lefty drummers are always cool
@@amanfromnowhere1388 yes right, i just lil' bit uncomfortable
4:57 "Oh my God...."
Jerome Turner lol
Oh, fuck yes!
HOLY WOW THIS IS SO RAD. VoM is insanely good live.
Saw them last year and it was awesome but too short :p
damn. mikasa gave goosebumps.
I remember seeing a live video when lukas first joined the band and i was like damn this guy is shit, i miss the old vocalist. But got damn do i love this new album, he is a really good vocalist. He was prolly still learning the songs on that initial video i saw.
Mikasa is my fave song, second fave is Subject Zero
very very good ..........
Holy shit 😯
Is that an 8 string bass? fuck.
I think it's a 6 string so he can do guitar scales on it
1000alextico its a 7
1000alextico 7 string bass, 6 string guitar.
Yeah, shit's wack. :)
fuck me seriously how does he get his hand around that thing, and I thought 6 strings where intimidating
Marc on 7 string now, Dan as well
🔥🔥🔥🔥
damnit i want to see them live :(
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Cleans that chill bones that is sick
I love how the bassist has more strings than the guitarist. :D
I've not seen that since Viraemia's 10 string "bass"!
7 String Bass and 6 String Guitar....something is wrong....
the new vox is sick live.
Dammit this is the show I would have watched I'm fucking pissed that I missed it
I came here to see if their singer was really that good, and I was not let down. Also, that fuckin bass!
signed, a fan waiting in denver.
I mean what can you say. So fucking good/
NO COMMENTS?!
and nice
I would never ever release music with vocals I cannot perform on a random Tuesday. I listen to them regularly btw.
just waiting for them to get really big
Such a great performance. the mikasa chorus tho...
mantap wa
awesome but chorus vocals can't quite hit that high note at the beginning of the chorus a smidge flat still amazing though but now I see it was obviously dubbed for the album
Im actually fairly convinced they play a half step lower live, or at least here. Alot of bands do that, mettalica does a full step lower. The reason it sounds of to you and i are because we probably have listened to the song plenty, so the intonation is beaten into our heads. I gotta in mine because im learning to play this song on guitar.
Do you know how hard it is to transition from screams to singing near the top of your vocal range?
Screams and cleans honestly is not best to pair with. So, just appreciate everything and listen to them. VoM is much more mature than the old one..
I've seen old veil live and it had way more energy than this. I've never heard a crowd chant like I did that night. That being said I like new veil so much more.
As much as I love this song, they should drop it a half or whole step for the performance cause that range is something I doubt he can do night after night considering how his screams are. I'd hate for them to never do a song like this again on future records.
+Chris Misery Why are you worrying about them? let them do their thing
XxHybridarmyXx Because I love this band and I love the direction they're going in. I would hate to see him hurt his voice and not be able to to something that he can do, or lower the quality of what he does because he hurt himself. I encourage this sound I just hope he doesn't hurt his voice, it sounded like a strain for him to sing like that.
+Chris Misery its always gonna sound strained when you sing at your highest range and scream at the same time you'll even hear a voice crack occasionally from all the air being pushed from the diaphragm. Considering there were absolutely no backing vocal tracks he killed this even with a few flat notes here and there in mikasa.
the concept of failure They should have just dropped it a whole step so his singing wouldn't kill him is all I'm saying.
veil of maya owns shit yo.
Its so weird seeing Lukas with a mic XD
I wonder how better it would sound if they had a second guitarist?
Oh yeahhh!!!awesome
