I don't understand the critics about this garage. It seems like a very honest people to me and if I move to UK I will let them have a look at my nav...thanks for sharing and avoiding other people to make the same mistakes.
Thanks Des, I have just recently bought a cheap 2014 Navarra as a supplement to our farm vehicles knowing full well that it needed a timing chain replacement because your channel has educated me in the vagaries of the YD25. I thank you and your team for that as well as all the other entertaining and educational videos you produce. Cheers from Bathurst New South Wales Australia.
@@richardsmith2879 Is this true about all the model. All manufacturers at some point put out cars that exhibit problems. Sometimes there are recalls because of this but don't they generally fix the problem over time as the newer models are being built. If these trucks are so bad, why do I see so many of them on road
This is a no brainer. If you have the money go for the Hilux. If I could afford the Hilux I wouldn't be looking at the Navara. If you ever decide to sell the vehicle later, the Hilux with fetch you a better price than would the Navara.
A million thanks for this video. I am actually in the process of purchasing a 2014 Navara Tekna. Took my mechanic to look at it but he wasn't as thorough as Des. Des you are the man. I am planning to go look at the truck tomorrow for another inspection and test drive and this video has equipped me with what I need to be looking out for. Can anyone say if there are any major issues with the 2014 model. This one that carries D40 in the chassis number and has the 2.5L diesel engine
Hi des, cheers for the videos, learning alot, i resently brought an 09 d22 dx with yd25 motor 155,000 kilometers on clock , it has just recently developed ideling problems when its not been used everyday, so when its cold. Basicley starts fine idle sounds fine and then for a split second sounds like its going to die then goes back to normal, does this few random times over first couple minutes of turning over when cold. Cheer from Jordan in NewZealand
I just bought a 2010 beater upper and it rides great. So far have done one fixup session at mechanic. Most of the things to fix now are to make it more quiet. Like windows rattling inside the door frames and under the drivers seat there's a creaking noise as I move around in the seat. I'm surprised there isn't anything major to fix yet. The truck looks like it's been through 30 years of use instead of 10. The only thing that looked good was the engine compartment :)
Did Nissan fix some of the underlying problems in the 2014 model???. I am eyeing a 2014 Tekna with on 26,000 miles on the clock and compared with what the other 2014 options are going for they are way way more than the Navara. Trying my utmost best not to make a wrong choice but the vehicle looks good, no sign of accidents. By the way how do you check the MOT on a vehicle. Is it a free service
i dont know what engine navaras use but here in the states the frontiers have the vg and vq . the vg is superior than the vq in reliablity but suffers from poor mileage and poor performance although has insane low band torque. the vq more or less fixed a lot of that but vg . is more reliable, not to say the vq isnt but not as much. in terms of truck quality, there all the same truck basically the 2nd and 3rd gen frontier are almost identical to chassis and parts used and they share some things with the higher trims of the 1st gen. nissan doesnt want to change there super reliable truck so they basically change the outside
Has the owner any legal case against the trader that sold that heap? Or has he left it too late? Did he get the V** document with the car that shows that it has been a write-off and that it has been properly repaired? It obviously hasn't been properly repaired though and looks like a really bad bodge job. So is the chassis still bent dangerously as it stands there? What's up with the engine? Is it out of a much older vehicle? The Euro3 engines wouldn't have been common-rail would they?
The seller was obviously without a conscience or common sense , i couldnt sell that except as parts car .Chassis damage caused by accidents commonly results in a vehicle writeoff .
my friend had his 07 navara bought back by nissan because the chassis was rotten he has bought a 05 discovery three the chassis is mint like the rest of the car and he says it is far superior all round
The new cat s is not the old cat c,cat c and d had no bearing on the damage it was to do with repair costs. Cat d = repairable at less than the cars value but uneconomical. Cat c= repairable but cost exceeds the value of the car. The new structural "s" and non structural " n " is far better due to this common mistake between cat c and d
Hey mate that’s a shocker of a Ute. Such a shame the young bloke didn’t pick up on the issues before he bought it and has had to learn the hard way. It’s even more of a shame there are assholes out there who rip other people off with junk like this.
Are you saying you have a kit to upgrade a single to a double timing chain on the NP300? If yes, is there a kit for a 2010 NP300 2.5 4x4 diesel? Thanks.
Silly boy trying to save money don't always work ..pays just to get it checked professionally. Well done guys up.😉 there And greetings from sunny Jersey
I have a 2.5 diesel 4x4. It's kind of slow on the acceleration phase was once you get going it's not bad. If your not in a rush there's no problem. But a bigger engine I think would be better at pulling heavy loads.
Omg never buy one of these ever. I've not had an engine in bits for 20 years.. Working 47 years in job. Mind you I hate nuts and bolts with a passion now. Stick to oil changes and brake pads it's easier.

Cheers Mate, I'm looking at a Navara in the next few days, so very helpful. Thanks,
No worries mate let us all know if you jump in and why, Thanks for watching Des
I booked a test drive. But when I turned up at the dealership the pick up wasn't there. I think I dodged a bullet
Don’t buy one, they are a well known disaster area. Lads love them though; dunno why.

Great videos guys very useful thanks from Australia 👍👍👍
Truck sales have skyrocketed recently in the Caribbean, really like your videos, keep it up, still can't decide between the NP300 and the Hilux..
There are so many videos about navarra here in YT. Keep watching them. I'll go for the hilux. But it's your money anyway.

Good information from helpful people 👍🍻
I was thinking of one of these but they seem to be riddled with problems.

What do you think of the 3.0 v6 diesel engine? Would you buy a high mileage one?
How do you check the MOT on a vehicle. Is it a paid service.
That poor fella, it must stink of oil when engine gets hot
I’ve just done a google search on your company and it came up with a Facebook page about you conning people out of money. Can you please explain?
The owner has been seriously mugged.
Has the owner any legal case against the trader that sold that heap? Or has he left it too late? I wonder if he has a case for legal action on the basis that the trader didn't sell him the car complete with that V** document?
Huw Williams . I suspect it’s caveat emptor.
Someone told me that an 07 Navaro failed the MOT for the same reason , rust. Nissan only offered 2k against a new Nissan vehicle.
My mate sold his back to nissan for 3.300 and 400 of that was compensation Not a great deal but who else would have bought it
Great video man.

This is NOT a lemon. A lemon is a factory defective car.
This one was simply abused and neglected.
In America yes, but here in the U.K. it is the proper nomenclature.
It is a lemon.
It's a lemon.
A lemon is a lemon and that is a lemon 🍋
Abuse and not well maintained car that's all i see..in my opinion..
what happened to the car in the end?
Nathan Reid sadly we don’t know
Hey mate that’s a shocker of a Ute. Such a shame the young bloke didn’t pick up on the issues before he bought it and has had to learn the hard way. It’s even more of a shame there are assholes out there who rip other people off with junk like this.
Correct , he missed a lot of things and should really have had it checked over before he parted with his cash. But when you're young etc.
Are you saying you have a kit to upgrade a single to a double timing chain on the NP300? If yes, is there a kit for a 2010 NP300 2.5 4x4 diesel? Thanks.
Hi , do you use thread lock when refitting a timing chain upgrade ?Thanks👍🇬🇧
Thanx for informative video .keep up. I love your channel from South Africa

What a shed wow Stevie wonder could of seen them panel gaps wow
lyndon webber well said buddy
But Nissan are your bread and butter .Don’t you want people to buy these vehicles
It feels a bit odd when you see someone with integrity these days.
OMG, that car really is (was) a rotten lemon !!!
He should just drive the piece of S__t though the guys front door. At least that would be satisfying.
Omg never buy one of these ever. I've not had an engine in bits for 20 years.. Working 47 years in job. Mind you I hate nuts and bolts with a passion now. Stick to oil changes and brake pads it's easier.
Damaged and repaired, badly.
