@@thirstypilgrim97 greetings from Gilleleje (den.)! I can recommend kent (Sweden), especially their Isola and Hagnesta Hill records (which have versions in English, but the Swedish lyrics are better imo), and Dizzy Mizz Lizzy (denmark) if you are into nordic guitar-focused music :)

Apparently they are on faze 5, I've not got into the Lore of the band, but it seems to be intriguing, they are a gang Apparently (the green gang)? and a few seem to have crushes on others lol. I'm going to look into it more it seems they put alot of thought into this concept.

Jamie Hewlett is the creator of Tank Girl and did the cover art for one of the great under-appreciated pop punk bands of the early 90's, the Senseless Things. Edit: Shit, that thought made me go back and look at some ST vids and I find that the front man, Mark Keds, passed last year. Same age as me :(

Have you ever thought of adding side by side frames of your expanding intro riff. And the characters of each frame (playing a different instrument portrayed by you) can "riff off each other" [insert laugh here.] Would love to see the expansion of a jingle/chorus into a full scheme: drums, bass, and any other instrument, like a flex spot, anyway.
    Example: on this video
"where am I gunna put my guitar"
    [other frame justin]
"oh here, I'll take it, I'll hold the bass in one, and that in the other! rock on justin"
    Good day.

Justin, were you an Oasis or Blur guy during the Britpop wars of the 90? Would make a great video to hear your opinion of the bands, what you felt at the time and what you feel know. I like to say Oasis won the battle but Blur won the war. Both were great bands but Blur evolved more.

Fair play to Damon Albarn, he has proved beyond a doubt that he is more than just the Mockney Essex boy character he played in the early 90s. Gorillaz has been a fascinating experiment in world building, animation technology and really pushing the envelope with musical collaboration. Jamie Hewlett, for anyone who isn't aware, is the genius behind Tank Girl. It's been interesting watching the aesthetic of the "band" evolve as the years have gone by. To put what they have accheived into context, you have renowned musicians, clamouring to play in a cartoon band, virtually fronted by the bloke who used to be the singer in Blur. That's impressive.

I was always under the impression that The Gorillaz consisted of just the vocalist and the animator. Perhaps it's changed in modern times but when they first came about a lot of people were saying that all the music itself was done by the lead singer alone.

Hi Justin, absolutely love your videos and could listen to you talk forever. I've just watched the Netflix documentary about Woodstock 99, and if you get round to viewing it yourself, would love to hear your thoughts. The stark contrast to the peace and love vibes of the OG in 69 was pretty shocking. But then if you look at the line up (mostly Nu-Metal bands), I guess you can see, to some extent, how a different vibe was curated - massive, aggressive mosh pits, etc. It was an interesting comment on society too, with hoardes of dickish frat boys, not there for the music as such, but to fuck and get fucked up (but in the worst way possible). That said, maybe Woodstock 69 wasn't totally peace and love either - maybe we romanticise it a bit, I don't know...
I'm 34 now, and was in high school was your first album came out. Loved it. Thanks for the ride!

I love this song. As ever with Albarn’s stuff, it’s not as simple as a first listen would make it seem. On revisit, the intricate unique details and incredible musicianship become more prevalent, which makes it get better and better.

Thundercat is a true virtuoso. He is just as skilled at the bass guitar as anyone who has ever played it. First time I ever heard of him was when I saw him live opening for flying lotus at the catalyst in Santa Cruz. It was that joyous moment when you go to a show to see a specific artist, and then the opener turns out to be just as great. It felt like I didn’t deserve to feel so good.
