Do You NEED to Fatigue a Muscle for Growth? Hypertrophy Discussion

    The video in question was good, but when we're discussing hypertrophy I think the first subject should always be mechanical tension, and how we're going to prioritize it in our programming.
    It's the single most important variable as it relates to hypertrophy, and there is even debate as to whether metabolic stress or muscle damage work independently to signal muscle growth.
    I also think a common misconception is that fatigue or soreness IS stimulus - when in reality these things can hamper our ability to apply mechanical tension to the muscle fibers we need to experience growth.
    When it boils down to it, a well-designed body part split is just as effective as full body training if volume is equated. This has been repeatedly demonstrated in research.
    I prefer full body for many scenarios/contexts, but it is not superior or inferior for growth if that's our goal.

    So i can spam lateral raises until fatigue without weights and still grow the delts?
