- In the early 90s, it was hard to imagine any other boxer with such destructive power as "Iron" Mike Tyson. The young, fast, and freakishly strong American was unrivaled for a long time, destroying everyone in his way. But in the spring of 1991, a Brooklyn hooligan met in the ring with a fighter famous for his destructive power. He was a fighter that Iron Mike respected and that, as you know, is worth its weight in gold. So, meet the great and terrible Donovan Ruddock, aka Razor. In this episode, we'll bring you the story of this great boxer and show you two of his fiercest fights, both of which have gone down in boxing history. Ultimately, we will try to explain why Mike Tyson respected this fighter so much.

Tyson said he was scared everytime he walked in the ring but he used that fear to his advantage. These new Tyson fans that didn't watch him think he's superman.

Tommy Morrison knocked the feet out from under him in the sixth. Tommy hit hard.
Meanwhile, at his peak Ruddock was a very dangerous fighter.

Uh-huh, Donovan never learned the fundamentals of boxing, he was just scoring uppercuts, hooks and looking to score an knockout, thats it. But primarily he was a tough boxer, no doubt. He got the height, the kilos and is capable of withstanding quite good shots. I can give an example with Tommy Morrison vs Razor Ruddock match, where Tommy scored a nice hook to Donovan's chin, and yet Donovan wasn't knocked out, he even withstanded really good shots from Tyson too! He's a really tough and endurant boxer.

I think an in shape Riddick Bowe would have beat Tyson
Riddick Bowe is a very controversial boxer, but no doubt he is also a boxing legend. We can only guess which of them would have won, but for Tyson it would have been a very difficult fight.

I think Mike was more scared of David tua he’s lucky he never fought Tua you know who Holyfield got to spar with before he fought Tyson David tua Because Tua and Tyson were the same size and fought pretty much the same style upper cut hooks like to brawl inside
It would have been interesting to see the Tyson vs. Tua fight when they were both at the peak of their form
At the time, the fight can go either way. In Tysons prime, Tua wouldn't stand a chance. He went life n death with Rahman, and was taken school by Chris Bryd. Tyson would of annihilated Bryd anytime in his career before 03, and Rahman anytime.
Tua was great against stationary targets, and fighters with no jab. Outside of that, he was basically a one trick pony.
