Hello everyone! This is a combination of all 6 of my Battlefront reviews in one video. I've made a few changes and updates here and there, mostly for BF1 and 2. Sorry if there's a bit of back and forth with mic quality, I didn't want to re-record the entire first video, my apologies. For clarity's sake, the VIDEO RELEASE order is BF1 > BF2 > BF2015 > BF2 2017 > Renegade > Elite > This one. Watch my editing and overall structure of my videos improve as you go, WEEEEE. I've added in a mod/PC section for the Battlefront 2 part, and I talk about the PSP version in this video, too. Hope you enjoy, and now I can feel safe to never talk about this series again. GG. > post multi-hour battlefront compilation > battlefront 3 debug build is recovered days later (content complete, mostly implemented) Cant imagine the frustration
It's a classic joke for longform analysis at this point--the best is PatricianTV's "Brief Skyrim Retrospective" that is like 20 hours long split into two parts that are like 9 and 11 hours respectively.
Hey Dorkaxe, I love your videos. One thing I don't think you mentioned was the commando pistol in battlefront 2 (2005). certain classes such as the clone jet trooper got that instead of the standard blaster pistol. It had a much faster rate of fire and was one of my favorite guns. keep up the great work!
There’s one important thing you missed while talking about BF2 (2005): the Classic Collection version allows you to toggle award weapons once you reach legendary status.
I was debating on putting the classic collection stuff in here or not. I went with the mod/PC discussion instead. This is good to know though, thank you.
Thanks for this these games were my childhood and then with the reboots my early adulthood i have so many happy memories of this game series and just hearing someone talk about it in such depth and with so much hard work put in i just appreciate you and just know your content makes some peoples day ! Thanks again brother much love and happy holidays
20:30 random thing, but you mentioning that Tusken raiders can hold command posts made me remember that I've seen it happening once that the AI Tusken raiders won a battle capturing all command posts. The game treated it as a lose for the player team.
I honestly wouldn't have as big of a grudge with the EA reboot if they didn't just try to take the name and soft erase the old games, making it impossible to discuss the old games when people only heard about the new one with the identical name
4:00:13 About IG-88, I specifically remember someone on the team, maybe during their old livestreams showcasing DLC, mentioning they would've loved to included IG-88 IF they had a droid model to work with as a base. That gave me so much hope for him being added in BF2.... 5:03:37 Also, supposedly ISB Agent in BF2 is actually the Padme model they were working on before she and Ahsoka had to get scrapped. You can see the resemblance in her face. That might explain why her ability is like a beefed up officer?
I'm glad to see these series of videos combined into another familiar big compilation, these Battlefront videos were always some of my favorites! As another random big video recommendation I say is Team Fortress 2 (Given you have footage of it from your L4D video)
If this is brief, I'd love to see your more indepth videos, anything shorter than 10 hours just isn't enough content! (Not sarcasm, keep that video girth coming)
34:50 also worth noting that prone has the effect of lowering one's aim sensitivity, making fine sniper aiming easier than when standing. Crouch also does this, but to a lesser extent than prone.
This is a great video, good work! Gotta Pound that Like like button. The biggest issue with ea isnt so much the games, or gameplay, its the rushed Earlyacess game that never got finished.
38:59 I could be wrong but I think there's actually a clutch mechanic where the enemy AI gets slightly better either when they're losing or when you're doing well
It took me a week's worth of work to produce a 20-minute video a long time ago, I can't imagine how much time it takes to do a nearly 7-hour video. Outstanding work
The thing about the Empire campaign is they released a book prior to the game launching about idanversio's team infiltrating a group of terrorists that were planning a major attack. You don't have to show the Empire being mustache twirling villains all the time if you don't want to, there's lots of nuance with a group of soldiers wanting to bring peace order and stability to a radical galaxy and fighting a bunch of terrorists, not everyone knows their leader is a literally evil villain.
ayla secura, grievous, and ki adi mundi were OP in the og BF2, especially in the all heroes mode. I remember grievous having a special lightsaber flurry attack that pretty much one-shots anything in the game. ki adi mundi also has a front-flip-slash thing that could be chained indefinitely and also pretty much one-shots anyone.
Strong PatricianTV allusion with the title, as well y'all's writing/analysis style in general. Thet is high praise, as Pat has gotta be one of the best writers in longform vidya essays--possibly for all of YT full stop.
EA bf1 is great imo. It plays like bad company 2, the weapons are unique, i like the progression, the ui, the reloading, and the graphics are the best in any video game ever. The photogrammetry technique made maps harder to make but damn do they look good. Also ea hoth is wayyyyyyy better than classic hoth.
Being honest I probably won't watch the whole video but I saw a bit of what you said in the EA Battlefront 2 part about the progression and the obtuse menus and I agree, I bought the game like 5 days ago and tried it for a bit and while I liked how the game felt in general, seeing that whole progression thing turned me off so much I ended asking for a refund lol
Idk if this will be burried but your graphic related rants for the EA Battlefront sections need further context, that context being that the way those two games look is actually THE LEAST time consuming and most efficient way to have done those graphics. Photoscanning is one of the most efficient ways to make a modern game look really good and realistic because the textures are already high quality and match the asset library of what you're trying to target theme wise. Sculpting textures and material shaders yourself is far far more time consuming and performance intensive. This is why EA Batllefront's games and Battlefield 1 and 5 look so good while running at 300 fps on PC. Instead of expensive shaders and textures that change in real time, they just have good textures scanned from pictures. Your complaints about load times is because you played Battlefront 1 on the console version, not because the graphics are too demanding or the loading time of the engine itself is long. So in actuality, the graphics is probably one of the best things DICE did for this iteration of Battlefront since they are both inexpensive and amazing looking. The problem with Photoscanned textures is that: 1. You need dedicated people who know their photography stuff to go out and photograph these "materials". 2. You can't cover them in real time shaders that are vital for the current 2020s trend of RTX and Path Tracing, which is why most current "demanding" releases don't use photo scanning. Which is why the industry has not made this technique of doing textures standard.
I personally love elite squadron. The psp version. Maybe I have more appreciation because I played ds first then played it on hacked vita. You’d think I’d like renegade squadron more because I had it as a kid and my cuz and me used to play online all the time but nope. Also didn’t play battlefront 2 EA till fixed and man I love it and need to play it again on steam deck since kids took over PlayStation lol
oh yeah pandemic battlefronts are my childhood I play once in a while to this day. The later battlefronts from EA were a massive disapointment made for newer/battlefield gamer. P.S. the remote rocket is actually really overpowered, the trick is to use the sprint key to boost the velocity up which causes a huge explosion on impact.
The rant about a story mode for the Galactic Empire near the end struck me as really weird. I kept watching it, waiting for you to pull out the rug and respond with something like, "That's what some people think, but here's why that's wrong." I mean, there are plenty of games where you play as the villains in a campaign. Here's one of them: Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2005). I'm just wondering where your rant was in that game's section. Something about how every mission made you sick to your stomach and how you couldn't bear to watch the endings to the Imperial and CIS galactic conquests.
My guy you can't be serious lmao I recorded an entirely new section talking about this, retreading this very argument! Did you just not keep watching??
@Dorkaxe I watched literally the entire thing. Do you think "they irredeemably evil" is an argument? [EDIT] Oh, wait, are you referring to wanting to see the journey of that one guy turn good? In that case that's missing the point, since there are many ways to make a compelling story for a villain other than to make them no longer a villain by the end.

Could you do a video on Red Dead Redemption 2?
I’d prefer a more in-depth analysis at some point but this quick video was perfect for my on the go schedule
6 hour long discussion for each main game, 3 hours for the psp 😂
> post multi-hour battlefront compilation
> battlefront 3 debug build is recovered days later (content complete, mostly implemented)
Cant imagine the frustration
"Brief"
Lmao
It's a classic joke for longform analysis at this point--the best is PatricianTV's "Brief Skyrim Retrospective" that is like 20 hours long split into two parts that are like 9 and 11 hours respectively.
Incredible quick video that summarises all the games neatly.

Glad I can say I was with you on this journey since you had around 1k subs. Hope 2025 is an even bigger success for you

Well put together video, was a nice look back the nostalgia line, thank you! :)
*Looks at watch* Yeah I got time
Lmfao 🤣

IN GALACTIC CONQUEST...
🗣🔥
A 7 hour Dorkaxe video about star wars...this just made my day!!!
I'm glad to see these series of videos combined into another familiar big compilation, these Battlefront videos were always some of my favorites! As another random big video recommendation I say is Team Fortress 2 (Given you have footage of it from your L4D video)
I was starting to get into the Battlefront game play and such, and this gold mine just drop. Perfect timing. :3
Thank god this was brief
I just finished replaying both classic games 5 mins ago and come across this, what timing!
I enjoy fat videos about my favorite childhood games
for what it's worth, I really liked your poem about the hero characters for the first game lol
That intro still hits every dopamine nerve in my brain. Loved it on the Xbox, sometimes more than 2
"Putting money over a finished product" is an excellent way to define modern day videogame industry
This is a great video, good work! Gotta Pound that Like like button.

Well these were all worked on at various points in the past 4 years lol, probably an accumulative 5-6 months of work I'd say.
This is where the fun begins..
You deserve way more subscribers.
Pound that thing is a great meme. Genuinely made me lol whenever it showed up.
Thank you for making it brief. I can’t stand videos that waste my time

“A brief look” ☠️ Is this just what we’re gonna call ALL of our SUPER long form video essays in the Star Wars community or what? 😂
BECAUSE I AM HERE FOR IT 🗣️🗣️🗣️
We eating good tonight
I love your videos bro.
Hell yeah brother

In og BF1 you can also land starships on top of the heroes to kill them
-Be 10 year old me
-Load up Battlefront 1
-Select Rebels
-Select Sniper
-Go prone
-go backwards
-Be pleasantly confused why I feel funny
You put in so much effort for so few subs
thats how you go from few subs to huge subs

Could you do a video on Red Dead Redemption 2?
Could one you dorkaxe patrons ask him to cover ninja gaiden
One more video before bed
Arguably the best Star Wars game series besides force unleashed
Battlefront 1 is better than 2 for that iconic loading screen alone.
Fight me.
what the hell dorkaxe 7 hours?? and I was just about to go to bed too :/
good video

I do quite like Hoth on BF1, you're right...actually, yeah the maps in BF1 are pretty nice. I'm more partial to the season pass maps, but still!
My dream video became real 😍
This is only the tip of the iceberg
Let’s ride

I wish it was a bit longer this is too short (real)

Time to watch

I kinda wanna go back and play some more EA BF2 as well. It has too many good things in it to fully dislike it imo
I appreciate the nba references lol
In the first ever Star Wars Battlefront I’m pretty I have lost a battle on Dune Sea to the Tusken Raiders . 😂 Has this ever happened to anyone else?
Sad that the best game in the series was cancelled
oh yeah pandemic battlefronts are my childhood I play once in a while to this day. The later battlefronts from EA were a massive disapointment made for newer/battlefield gamer.

Ah yes, I forgot to update that small error. Shoot lol
3:57:57 his brother 😅
"A brief look"
6 and a half hrs later..🤣🤣
Just like the simulations.
Way to hit the 10 minute mark
Man, this guy is really padding his runtime to get past the ten minute mark for the mid video ad read 😔😔
yeah elite squadron looks like ass. Glad i never got to play it when i was a kid or else i would have been disappointed
Ah yes..... compilation videos the bane of UA-cam
