I have Synthmaster 2 and it keeps surprising me in positive ways. For example, select the additive osc, load a drum sample per partial, use the sequencer in drum mode and - yep a complete sample-based drum machine. Combine it with another layer and you can have those VPS Avenger backing track vibes, if that's your type of thing.
A very underrated synth. I discovered it at NAMM a few years ago and immediately bought it. The price is silly for the quality of what you get. Great video!
Thanks for this. I’ve been using synthmaster for over a year and I am just amazed at the depth of functionality that this provides. It has an incredible feature set and I’m not sure there is anything else that comes close in terms of pure capability. But I am frustrated by the outdated documentation and lack of comprehensive up to date tutorial videos. When you have something as awesomely powerful as synthmaster then you really have to supply some support to explain how everything works and where all the features reside because it’s not all intuitive. If it had that then I think it would deservedly be the #1 soft synth available today because in terms of features and sound then it really has it all.
@@be7min483 thanks for the heads up! Is that the full version? I have Avenger and still don't always dig into it as much cause I love the drag and drop of Vital. I also like using presets a lot though and that definitely appeals to me with Synthmaster

I really should dig Synthmaster one and 2 out again. I am a bad sufferer of plugin aquisition syndrome, and have a perennial VSTi collecting habit. The trouble with having quite a few good softsynths is that each is a serious distraction from spending time with other plugins.
Yea I feel that man. I try to stick with usings Serum, Massive X, AnA 2, Kontakt 6 and all the native instruments stuff that comes with it. I have a bunch of others though. I went on a little spree collecting libraries and freebies that last few days with the sales going on....ugh...i need more HDs lol.
Plug-in acquisition syndrome is a bad thing. I know how that feels. Me, as 'only' a drummer I am collecting only nice free stuff and a few cheap offers during the sales.
Something I try to do is set rules about what plugins to use in any given project. In addition to having it solve both the "analysis paralysis" and "blank canvas" issues, it's also an opportunity to revisit various plugins that I haven't had a chance to use, either in a while or not at all. And I guess I have another thing to add to the wishlist =D
I'm a plugin hoarder. I love playing with new things with buttons and dials. Synthmaster was my first paid synth. Over the years, my collection of non-free synths has increased massively, but I love going back to good old Synthmaster. It's s bit buggy, it acts weird, but I can always manage to make any sound in it. The greatest thing about it is how it sounds. Sometimes it doesn't sound quite right, but this also tends to translate into sounding way more alive. Call it analog (I wouldn't know), call it character, but I love it. If I had to chose just one synth in my collection, I'd choose this one.
I wanted to point out the excellent screen splitting effect you used this time. It look very nice and pro, congrats !!! I love your channel content, bravo !!👏👏👏
I just purchased the Synthmaster 3 upgrade (a whole, whopping $29) and that has given me access to an alpha version complete with a temporary skin. Yes, I will be beta testing for free but, I don't mind. SM3 is looking like an amazing upgrade. It is now a fully modular system complete with a module/node graph where you can connect pretty much anything to anything. It's not a true modular synth in that you are not directly routing CVs and audio via wires but, you can rout audio signals to pretty much any other audio input in whatever order you want including many into one and one into many. It'll be really interesting to see how it develops from here until final release.
Came to this video following a link from KV331. That track that you put together is spectacular. While I've scored a handful of budget films, I've yet to get a project that calls for music as cool as that. Thanks so much for sharing.

It's a bit odd that the key and velocity mapping tools are available only in the iOS skin though - are you certain about that? I find it quite surprising that such a standard and useful feature would be mostly hidden.
Synthmaster 2 is great. What sucks is that I have a nasty bug in Bitwig (up to 4.1) that causes Bitwig modulator values to jump all over the place when I open the synth. I also have this bug with other synths (Nexus) and Bitwig developers just point to the VST developers :(
I bought Synthmaster One this year, but I hardly use it. This is because of some illogical (imo) flaws in the user interface, which make you lose too much time. Figuring out things soundwise can be frustrating but serve a purpose. Figuring out the (il)logic of interfaces is a waste of time. I'm not unsympathetic towards Synthmaster One at all , but I end up picking other plugins that are more intuitive.
I do point this out to them from time to time. Usability is king! I have and use them both, but hiding randomization in menus, instead of offering it up front by one-click remains a usability sin! (I hope you read this - again - KV331). On the plus side, I always highlight its CPU-friendliness. It's not AS important to me now as it was a couple of years ago, but if you are like me and like layering thing, it is still a big thing, because some synths bogs the system after just a few instances.
Hopefully with the release of SM3 they'll be able to implement all these ideas in a much cleaner UI/UX. I think maybe part of the problem is that these plugins are getting a bit old and with so many updates there is just an inevitable degree of 'feature creep' that wasn't really possible to work into the existing UI without significant changes, and if you significantly change an older plugin people are used to they're bound to start complaining. Guess we just have to wait and see!
I own SynthMaster One & 2 but don't really use them as they are still buggy despite numerous updates, only VSTs that crash my Ableton projects. They need to volume match their presets, some are really loud, I nearly blew my speakers going through some of the bass presets.
Is that 2000 presets with the full bundle or at the opening price? I have a pile of synth plugins and not sure I am that excited about adding yet another that does what I can already do.. then again, I am an addict.
Included with the plugin! There is also the Synthmaster Player which acts as more of a 'preset player' without the synth engine accessible if you're just after some sounds. Give the demo a spin and see what you think, it's a pretty versatile plugin!

I do take notes of some tricks for the synth I use the most. I use Essential Pim for this. It's more than a note program, but it is very easy to organize notes. There is a free version that is more than enough for this.
Sounds cool! another synth to ... skip :) focusing on hardware synth I have, plus Arturia's V and Pigments plus a few: ANA2, Omni, FafFilters. Enjoyed watching your Synthmaster demos and a reminder on getting creative and learning what you have in hands!
Scaled pitch randomization is cool! Does the sequencer(s) arpeggiate thru notes when feed with chords? quantized? like ANA2 does. Maybe I don't want to skip it :)
It's been in development for quite some time, no idea when it will release but I'm patiently waiting. From when I spoke to them last about it, they say it will be like the 'next Alchemy' which would be amazing. It has a lot of interesting features planned - just a matter of it actually releasing haha.
Its a great synth but ive always felt it looks kind of cartoony visually which maybe stops it from coming across as the serious player it should be viewed as.
I spent some time learning modular synthesis. I had bought this plug-in years ago before messing around with modular. With that new knowledge base, this synth, which seemed "overcomplicated" to me years ago, is really starting to get the juices bubbling again.
I'm sure this app will suffice a lot of time before I have the money to buy a real hardware synthesizer. I was thinking about the Minibrute 2s since I already have a couple controllers here. But here in Brazil everything is pretty pricey, unfortunately.
I can't even get synthmaster 1 to work on my desktop. The ios versions are buggy as all hell. They call it synthmaster because once you buy it you become their slave.
does anyone reading this have any recommendations for a simple free minimalist synth plugin? I am a guitar player and just want to play around with a synth but all of them seem to go for maximalism with tons of knobs and stuff. I don't really have the desire to go all in and learn that stuff but want to play with sweeping textures, etc. thanks.
Vital. It's free, and the visual aspect and drag and drop part of it basically helped unlock synths for me to not only hear but see exactly what's happening.
Synthmaster Player is exactly that. No knobs to tweak, just nice factory presets and free sometimes when there is a sale on the site. Regular price is 9 bucks I think.
We already have Surge and now Vital: I do not know... is there point for existence for synths like this? If it is paid product I think it should give something more than free product. Falcon, Phaseplant, i think have that, but they are too expensive toys. I know what Pigments have over Vital (but honestly if i did not have Pigments before Vital came out - i am not sure would i buy Pigments). Synthmaster vs Vital - for money I only get skeuomorphic interface, which i personally do not find neither clear nor attractive.

I spent some time learning modular synthesis. I had bought this plug-in years ago before messing around with modular. With that new knowledge base, this synth, which seemed "overcomplicated" to me years ago, is really starting to get the juices bubbling again.
Oh my God… “get the juices bubbling”? Really? Which century is that expression from? 😂
@@juradodevoz One you probably never lived in. I feel so sad for you.
Ok
does anyone reading this have any recommendations for a simple free minimalist synth plugin? I am a guitar player and just want to play around with a synth but all of them seem to go for maximalism with tons of knobs and stuff. I don't really have the desire to go all in and learn that stuff but want to play with sweeping textures, etc. thanks.
Vital. It's free, and the visual aspect and drag and drop part of it basically helped unlock synths for me to not only hear but see exactly what's happening.
@@BrofUJu cool. appreciate it.
Synthmaster Player is exactly that. No knobs to tweak, just nice factory presets and free sometimes when there is a sale on the site. Regular price is 9 bucks I think.
@@mistral-unizion-music cool thank you
For simple and free, Synth1 is hard to beat!
Synthmaster vs Vital - for money I only get skeuomorphic interface, which i personally do not find neither clear nor attractive.
i dont like (soft) synths with one million pages with one million options which you can modulate with one million modulators.
What synths do you like?
we need cc subscribe.
great synth terrible customer support...
I did get great support from them in the past.
