Great video!! I had a good time with the first part of the tutorial and was able to produce the same results. I followed step by step on using Cardinal as a sequencer but I'm using Ableton as a DAW. I set up vital on another midi channel and linked it's input to the Cardinal out channel. I cannot hear the sequencer producing any output to vital, although I set it up as I always do, transport running, in outs correct
. Tried 5x to rewatch and compare to what you did in Bitwig. I'm confused. LOL. And fascinated.

Hey, Cameron. I've been subbed to this channel for 2 years now, and I rarely comment, but I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate you. You don't do the same stuff as other channels. And that's the part that has kept me watching your stuff more than the others that I started with when I was first learning. Even your videos about getting over writers block and your philosophical, and personal stuff is unique, and lets me know that a real human being that honestly cares about others is right here. You probably won't catch this comment, but by the off chance that you do: Thank you, sincerely. Your hard work is appreciated. And so, I'm taking a moment to let you know that. I hope others do too.

I'm pretty addicted to Omri's channel especially since im just getting my head in the modular game(learning vcv rack for about 1 year.) Though the time it must take to make a thorough modular tutorial must be a seriously insane undertaking.

I appreciate seeing you give Cardinal the love it deserves. It's usually a mediocre choice for "basic" setups like using it as a typical synth or filter, but it really shines when you need that extra, personalized touch that your other plugins can't give you; one of my favorite uses is building effects that react to MIDI input.
Also, it's beautiful for just messing around and experimenting, you can learn lots of new ways to make noise with it, and even create your own synthesis method if you feel like it.

In the past on my old PC, I had some performance issues with Cardinal, so I never used it. But now, I just installed it and works great! Never went into the Modular world, because setting up a hardware based environment, cost some money, and second, it didn't really worked on my old PC. But now I'm in. I'm right there with you. It's a daw within a daw. The effects this comes with are so powerful, it basically makes half my plugin library irrelevant. There's everything for granular to x y gestures in here. Also, I've heard that the airwindows vcv module is likely coming to it as well. ALL 300 odd airwindows plugins in one module.

I love how you said you have standards - to be honest you're my fav. youtuber for ambient sound design music theory and composition - you're on point, your humor is spot on, you're content gets straight into it, you offer skips for sponsors due to chapters in YT - you have the highest quality period of story keep to exactly what you're doing as I'm sure you understand, no need to copy others - that's what makes you awesome your content is point from the heart and original! Thanks for all of the vids on the plugins as well, esp free vst/i stuff. Stay healthy and look forward to your next video, it's always right on point with what I want/need to watch to grow as a composer! Thank you so much! P.S. you're teaching style is perfectly on point, slow enough to cover ALL of the steps but fast enough to not get boring, the pace is timed perfectly! P.P.S. what's the difference between cardian and VCV rack? interface looks similar, is it just a fork w diff library of modules? It sounds amazing!

Late to the party here (as is usual for me). Just got into Cardinal as I was never that interested in the stand alone version of VCV. This was an incredible video, even by your enviable standards. Thanks so much for making this all understandable and fun.

I got this plugin recently to practice modular, but I didn't really get into it because it seemed too overwhelming. The timing of this video was perfect for me. You present everything so clearly, and I'm very grateful for that

For Logic users, a workaround is to use Blue Cat Patch Work. Pick your instrument (in this case Pigments) and load patchwork as a MIDI FX on that same track and then within patch work, load in the cardinal component or vst. Then it works just the same way as what Cameron is doing here. Load in the synth version of the plugin, not the FX. I didn't try the FX, but I know that the synth works.

Great vid - esp the Pigments mash up. Man I'll have to watch it again to see how that's done. Perhaps pretty please you could do a similar vid but for making beats - even euclidean beats with Cardinal. My ind is still blown - only discovered Cardinal today lol
