I have been putting off doing my first newsletter because it all looked so complicated. You just simplified it to my level of intelligence. :) Thank you!
Thank you so much for this! I worked through it directly on Klaviyo while watching and it has helped me overcome my fear of having an ineffective format for an email newsletter. Thank you!
Hey @siddhant2002, ironically yes the email would have worked on iOS Gmail dark mode when this video was recorded, but not anymore. Unfortunately, you can't make a lasting video regarding dark mode, because dark mode is changing regularly for email. Case in point, iOS Gmail 3 years ago when this video was recorded did no treatment for Dark mode, but since then now it inverts the colours - dark becomes light, light becomes dark. To make things more difficult, Outlook only inverts light colours - light becomes dark, and dark stays dark. These are the rules in February 2024, but they're not going to be the same forever. To make sure your email is dark mode compliant on each marketer to test, test & test. It's the only way to prepare for how your customers experience your emails.
Hi, thanks for the video. He has greatly simplified the creation of campaigns. Unfortunately, however, we have noticed that if the email is read by Gmail, it is not shown immediately, but "show images" appears, instead of having the email immediately readable. Is there any way to fix it?
Hi Matteo, whether images show or not is completely up to the recipient, they can decide whether images show when I open email or whether the “show images” link appears. Since a percentage of customers will have no images showing by default, it’s especially important to use actual text blocks rather than including the text in the images, and using button blocks for the same. This way people still get a lot of the context of the email, even if they choose not to show images.
Hi! I created a very nice email but when I send the mail to someone, the blocks below the shop now button are not the same colour as the blocks above. This problem is happening on mobiles as I opened the same mail on my laptop and it was perfect, What could the issue be, can you help me? Thank you.
Hi Vardaan, I can't say for sure, since every device and app shows emails slightly differently. It also sounds like the issue might be related to dark mode. Dark mode is especially annoying on iPhone Gmail, and Mobile (iOS and Android) Outlook, so test for those. Fortunately most customers don't use dark mode very much, so it should be an issue for only a minority of customers.
Hi i noticed you uploaded an image with a white background but when you uploaded it to canvas template the image blended in background color. How do you do this? Whenever i upload an image with a white background it doesn't blend in with the template background-colour
Hi Dion, that's a PNG image, so the background is actually transparent, not white. Here's a great video from LTT about image file formats: ua-cam.com/video/ww12lImOJ38/v-deo.html
Hi Luc, no problem at all! We're not against building with raw HTML, but we just haven't found cases where it was necessary, so we stick with the drag and drop builder. There are a couple of things that are clunky with it, but Klaviyo is constantly updating it. A little birdy told us that there are even bigger updates coming soon too!
@@emailexperts Thanks for your help! Do you think there are any processing differences at the consumer side when going for code instead of the prebuilt blocks?
@@luccheung Email code is loaded in before the customer opens the email, so load speed isn't affected either way. However, once an email code extends beyond 102kb, then the email itself will clip for Gmail users - Google "gmail clipping"" to see what I mean. Coding it yourself will minimise this, but it's rare for the drag and drop to reach 102kb anyway, and if you are, the email is probably too long and ineffective anyway. The only reason I can think of custom coding your email is for designs that you can't do with drag and drop, like Google AMP.
Hey, this email design was amazing! I just got into email marketing and I was wondering if you ever had free time to help me go over a few things and possibly give me tips and tricks? If you’re willing to hop on a call tomorrow??
Hi Lumik, kudos for asking. We run an agency working with fast growing brands. Feel free to check out our work on our website, and let us know if there are particular topics you want to see us make videos on.
Haha, thanks for the feedback Emjay! We’re really conscious that other tutorials waste your time with unnecessary backstory, but we will try to balance it out a bit and maybe slow it down a bit.
Oh dear! Well the good news is that the default Mail App doesn't change the email on Dark Mode, and it's the most popular app, however, you're right, on Outlook and Gmail mobile apps it goes out the window.

I didn’t know Canva was that good. Is that the free version or paid version?
The demo here is all using the free version
@@emailexperts Nice! Thanks for the reply. It’s frustrating when UA-camrs never respond to anyone

Hi. The image i'm uploading (900x 900) isn't fitting to the edge correctly - i centred it and also clicked 'fit to width' like you did. Any ideas?
Hi T, could also be the padding and margin, with the block selected, check the "Block Styles" tab.
Can you please make a video on how to implement product data blocks/feeds when building email from code
Hi Luc, when you say "from code" do you mean raw HTML? Or just ysing the dynamic feed features in Klaviyo?
@@emailexperts Sorry for being vague.
Yes I meant when building the whole email from raw html
