That shit hurts! It hurts a lot! My nails grow quick but I have to keep them short because I work in the garage with my dad so I was picking up a cabinet and moving it into the house, i snapped my nail and holy shit it was almost clean off like a tiny sliver was left!

My nails grow very fast so they get so long. About a week ago we were cleaning and I smashed my nail into something and it bent a weird way and really hurt. Like REALLY hurt. My nail broke afterwards, so I had to file down all my nails. It was a very tragic day, but like I said, my nails grow fast so they are almost back to the length they are before. (Btw it didn’t take that long for them to grow back because my nails are about 1/4 of the length of Cristines long nails.)
I just broke my nail on my ring finger....it's so painful and the break was so low down that my finger swoll up from pain...its been 6hr and swelling has gone. I patched it up with nail glue and medical tape. Now just gotta let it grow out so i can file the break.
Coming back to this because I broke my nail after washing dishes and I cried (it took me 3 months to grow out my nails and I had been biting my nails for the past 15 years)
i relate on a spiritual level my longest nail broke a couple days ago so today i gave up and got acrylics
It took me 5 months to grow my nails and they were healthy and clean BUT thanks to my STUPID SCHOOL, I HAD TO CUT MY NAILS.
I came back to this because I broke my nail yesterday. I slammed my car door on my thumb accidentally 😭😭😭 I have no idea what to do because it cracked all the way across (horizontally). It’s awful!

@@arielfarra7979 for the most part all my pain is gone. Unfortunately the top half of the nail ended up coming off so I have to wait until it grows out completely. The only pain I’m experiencing is because some of the exposed skin is a little sensitive but that’s all. I have to actively be messing with it to experience any pain. Honestly the worst part is that you don’t realize just how much your nails affect your grip until you’re missing one.

For years I have tried to grow my nails but I always ended up biting them off due to anxiety. But over the past few months I’ve finally been able to grow them out without biting them-instead they either break or they kind of flake at the tips. I broke one of my longer nails yesterday and now I’m scrambling to get a repair kit off of Amazon. Thank u for the helpful video, I think I’ll be able to save my nail until I can grow it out more!

I’ve finally had the self discipline to grow out my natural nails and a few days ago my ring finger nail broke in half down in the mail bed like yours, but somehow I didn’t even notice when or how it happened?? I did the teabag method and it seems to have worked pretty well. Now I’m playing the waiting game on letting the break grow out past my mail bed before I file it.

Cristine PLEASE be careful when dealing with an open wound like that, because you still have glitter and nail glue in it it can cause serious infection! If under your nail you feel a burning painful sensation and it seems to look like there are red vein-looking lines going up your finger and you feel sick that means its septic and its hospital time.
TLDR: Be careful and try to clean your damn nail cracks as much as possible next time so u dont die

Plus irritating the wound more would have been more detrimental to its healing than the slight risk of infection. She's in otherwise good health and she lives in Canada so she can easily get to a doctor if she feels it's not healing or it's infected.
Alyx Taylor she lives in Canada so she'd have to wait for however long to finally see a doctor as opposed to making an appt or going to the ED to get help as soon as she can
she can go to the ER whenever she wants it just depends on how long the line there is. if she has sepsis they would triage her. also if she has a family doc she can still make an appointment. do you think we all just stand outside one large medical building for days/weeks/months until they have a time for us? we may be short on doctors but some people still general physicians and the hospitals still triage based on whats most urgent.
