The best you can do is get under a strong desk or table, like they teach you in school. If you can’t do that, then get to an interior wall (without windows ofc) and just hug it. Even just crouching and sitting in place, protecting yourself, can be good. Outside away from anything and everything is also good. Don’t try to go up/down the stairs during a quake, just get to the closest shelter as soon as possible.
