Been watching every single Zf review under the sun because ive been wanting to buy it, until i scrolled down my notification bar, and saw it as GxAce's thumbnail, and i was like " it is time"
@@ChristianB90for me the 40mm f2 lens has the same “magic” and similar character old XF 35mm 1.4 has. It’s not perfect nor extremely sharp but people love it. Not to mention the size of both are pretty similar. Nikon 40mm is wider of course but it’s like combining my favourite focal lengths into one (35mm & 50mm)
I have been saying for 5-6 years now in every camera forums that camera companies need to make ads and commercials again. It'll drive up sales and bring back the nostalgia of what camera lovers had back then
Your ability to express such emotions like nostalgia while introducing cameras is incredibly impressive. Every time I watch a video from you, I get the sense that my eyes are floating, the colors are soo damn beautiful. Love the work.
You have the best photographs and the best videos on YT. Better than the “top” ones that just have slo-mo “cinematic” videos of them standing in front of a waterfall. You deserve millions of followers bro. Keep up the great work.
Holy crap!! BY FAAAARRRRRRR the best video I’ve seen in forever. The writing, the sound, the color grade is outstanding. Thank you. First video I’ve hit like on in six months.
Do you realise how good your production are?? How well your video are made? I never had interess in nikon whatsoever but after to telling one last time how a freaking great work you made i’m gonna teach myself about this camera I want to see movies from you mate be proud of what you do and keep going ! A fan of your work
I actually watched this video 3 times because I needed to fully grasp each part. 1) For the Camera Zf particulars, right balance of specs to feels and such. 2) For the Bladerunner/Cyberpunk aspect that just cannot be understated how well you pieced this together to make it feel like we're in that era. 3) For the Weaponized Nostalgia aspect that gives me the feels of original Pizza hut and Arcades but we're not talking about anything but the camera. Absolutely stunning visuals, scripting, and edit. Well done.
A camera that I find not only fabulous but that stands out from the mass of similar devices. An absolutely phenomenal review like each of your reviews. I flee youtube for all these smelly tests to the glory of I don't know which brand, which often seem just window dressing probably in the pay of certain brands, perfectly useless and soulless reviews. Yours on the contrary are beautiful and the soul is projected intimately. It's the only UA-cam channel I'm going to subscribe to. Congratulations GxAce
You my friend are a very talented film maker. You don't just make content videos for UA-cam you make cinematic short films. I love your cinematic and entertaining videos. Well done indeed.
This camera is glorious. Yesterday, I was able to check one out while on a photowalk with some pals here in Tokyo. Nothing but GREAT things to say about this rig. And the 40mm lens? That has been my go-to for so long, so now I need to get my hands on this whole kit. Branded as the "special edition" here in Tokyo. I'm not sure what that entails. Anywho, it was cool seeing this pop up on my feed. The robots know my brain, now.
@@SarbjitSingh-rs6kp I haven't shot Nikon in 14 years, so anything's interesting at this point. Ha! The tactile experience of the Zf is super nice, so I'll need to check out that Z6iii. ;)
The production value and creativity of your channel is unbelievable and to think that its all about cameras is absurd. Im not complaining ofcourse i just think visual storytelling like this would suit almost all kinds of topics
Bought myself a zf after a summer of going film crazy. This camera blends the absolute best of both worlds and i can’t see myself wanting anything else. A digital manual focusing dream
This video is stunning. I have been eyeing the Zf for months and now after watching it I don't want it, I NEED it. You have portrayed the exact reason why film cameras are still sought after... they bring you back to an era where there was emotion and connection with taking the actual picture and then also developing/enlarging it. I started in the 90s with film, both B&W, color and slides. The tactile experience of a camera has always been important to me and then transitioning to digital I felt like fulfilling the job but with emptiness and lack of joy... the Zf should be fun to use and it is no slouch for the price and specs!
Got the ZF recently and I’ll be selling all my Fuji and one of my leicas. I think that’s what I like about it. It’s FF, can take my M mount glass, great sensor, great AF when needed. Good video when needed. Manual focus is amazing. Really well thought out camera that ticks a lot of boxes. I actually like the colors better than my Fujis. I think the reds are better and to me that’s one of the most important colors to capture accurately. Fuji reds never look right to me compared to my Leica or older canons even. Rich Tone Portrait is actually pretty nice for generally shooting and it LOOKS like we are going to have some really good “recipe” control in upcoming Nikon cameras. If they do that well they will eat fujis lunch.
I'm with you...Nikon SP! I think one of the brilliant things Pixii camera has shown us is that if software engineers with no mechanical RF experience can make a modern rangefinder then there is no reason the big three can't! :-). Let's go Nikon SP digital mechanical rangefinder! :-)
All your points about the Zf are quite right, and I would say most of them apply to it's smaller, older brother: the Zfc. I've seen a lot of hate towards it, but it's also a great capable camera, great low-light performance, and the design and size of it have given me a new drive to shoot everyday. If a camera inspires you to go out there and capture, it makes it a great camera. Great video as always!
The ZF makes me feel like I’m learning all over again. On dials and switches. Hoping my combo creates the perfect image. It’s the reminder of what photography first was for me
seems to be the same reasons I bought my (used) Df, sensor quality being good, enjoyable tactile experience, but also the ability to use older, classic lenses
Immediately clicked on this video and as usual, you didn't disappoint. The Sci-Fi/Bladerunner style to your reviews/videos are amazing to watch and like I said before on another comment, it feels more like an event rather than a camera/lens review. The visuals, the soundscape and the overall storytelling is superb as well as being very unique. It's very interesting to see many Fuji owners test or own the Nikon Zf and if I was using Full Frame, it would definitely be Nikon. I'd like to know how you feel about the ZF compared to the X-T3 because your X-T3 review really showed how much you love that camera?
I am very happy with my cheap full frame Canon 5D and 6D combined with the great EF 40/2.8 and some other EF lenses which you can get very cheap now. The colours are gorgeous. This is my Nostalgia setup.
Love to see a Nikon highlighted in your style! 🥹 You broke down the Z mount better than anyone I’ve heard & makes me excited to get into that system! Thank you!!

That tiny error in the hardcoded subs @10:31 kinda gives my brain comfort, because everything else is so amazing I almost don’t feel worthy of watching.
I played with the Z fc a bunch last year and definitely wanted a FF version. I really enjoyed it, and had a lot of fun editing the photos in post (don't care for film sims). I'm currently testing the Z6 III, I'm kind of tempted to switch entirely to Nikon, but I don't think it'll happen

Love? Very possible, IMHO. Some kind of passion, for sure. 🔥
i am a forever nikon addict. when i was selling a million in camera gear a year back in 2014-ish i was asking Nikon to make this camera. my first camera was an FM-10 and I hold my Nikon F / FM / F1 etc dear to me. the design, reliability and hell the nostalgia. but to have a throwback body that can handle most of my old glass (punch in focus for my even older lenses) RED luts with two card slots and the same batteries as my boring DLSR/Zs. this is the one I'm buying as the last mirrorless I'll ever own.
I feel soo disconnected from my past, like it never really happened and there is no one I am looking forward to seeing in the afterlife. Am I even human. I do have some photographs that stand as testament to my existence.
I love the feel and the color and everything of my collection of old Pentax lenses, so got myself a Pentax K1 markII so I still have the nostalgic feeling uses the lenses and the old style viewfinder. no adapter or anything, everything from 1975 when they introduced the K mount until the latest lenses. it is also nice that you can throw a film camera in your back to like the small MX and just shoot digital and film side by side.
