Fuji historically made some of the best ever cameras like the GX680. They had a dull period when digital took over and it’s great to see them back at the top again.
GFX 100 is a bit beyond my budget, but I was lucky enough to get hold of a secondhand 50R at a very low price. I have been using the Fujifilm digital cameras for over 20 years, and have been using the X-mount cameras for 10 years. Always love the "Fujifilm colours", but this time the GFX really took my photography experience to a new level. Amazing dynamic range. And with a larger sensor all these good lenses I have collected over the last few decades finally get to show their characteristics. Glad to see this channel finally talk about the amazing GFX camera system.
Hats off-this video is truly exceptional. The storytelling and cinematography are nothing short of extraordinary. Furthermore, your photography skills are truly commendable. As an ardent enthusiast of Japan (having spent a delightful five weeks there this April), I find myself even more enamored with your videos. In my studio, I rely on the GFX 50s, which has proven to be an unwavering workhorse. Its 50MP capabilities have been more than sufficient for my headshot photography business. However, I often find myself eagerly searching for justifications and opportunities to buy the GFX100 II. And you did not help with this video go ignore the voices in my head, who are yelling "buy it, buy it, buy it"... 😂
I thought about upgrading to this camera while watching the video ... until I saw its price tag. It costs more than combined total of all of my family's cars. I think I'll keep my $200 EOS-M for now, but that fuji camera looks incredible.
The best money can buy isn't going to come cheap! I've got an RP and 40mm 2.8 is my favorite despite having used the sigma arts and other such stuff. There are older gfx second hand maybe for under 2k, but then add a lens to that..
This is the first video I went to after watching X-Summit. Glad to see I'm not the only one excited by the possibilities of this camera. Honestly, because money getting in the way of my creativity has always been a struggle, this camera feels unobtainable right now. Though there's always tomorrow. Maybe if I keep fighting the good fight, some day I'll be in a place professionally that I'll be able to use such a tool.
Could do what I did with the gfx50 and just wait for the next model to come out to tank the price by a few thousand....granted I still ended up buying the 50SII anyway lol but that's due to poor impulse control
Don't let money limit your creativity. Find a way to get the result you want no matter the tool. I still use an old ass 5D original when I could have much better.
As someone coming from photography (a7ii) and moving into cinematography (fx30) I find myself constantly surprised with the color and quality of Fuji… so much so that it has me considering making a shift from Sony to Fuji.
Do it, Sony is a joke by comparison and just like Nikon created it's market share through massive amounts of money dumped into marketing instead of actually making better quality products justifying their prices. That and the GFX system is so good it can basically use any lens in existence

I am really happy you were able to get your hands on the camera and create this beautiful review for us. I have to agree with you on the design it looks amazing
Looks like a powerhouse of opportunity. I agree it is going to be a great tool for cinematographers moving forward. It would be very interesting to see people starting using this for more serious street photography. Although it would be an overkill. Your results are stunning of course. Great video!
It is NEVER overkill, unlike every other brand Fujifilm cameras were meant to be used instead of sitting on a shelf or in a foam case only to come out every once in a while for a gig
Medium format was pretty standard back in the film days. Plus it gives you excellent bokeh versus smaller sensors. It would be awesome if they made a waist-level finder for it.
@@k-ozdragon yeah, this sensor isn't quite true film medium format, being smaller than even 6x4.5, a shame the digital era made medium format so much more expensive than it already was
@@CianMcsweeney Isn't it smaller because the resolution is higher with digital though? Would be nice if it was a true medium format. I dint realize it was that much smaller.
This is an epic video review/overview, nicely done. Can't believe they added an UNCALIBRATED waveform meter or at least it looks like it from your video? Waveform monitor addition is good but an uncalibrated scale waveform monitor is highly annoying.
this camera was hanging and to restart you need to remove battery. in studio flash sync is the most worthiest in market. big and clampy. bad autofocus. sold ! switched to Hasselblad. happy.
The extandable evf seems like a good idea, and also make it open to third party companies and allow camera control to get more options in terms of monitoring.
Someone's been to Iceland... Totally agree on the design trickling down the Fuji family except I'd like more curves than straight edges (think R3), purely for practical reasons (dust and water), which is down to what I shoot (heavily weighted to wildlife) and where I shoot (northern UK where it rains a lot).
Just want to give a heartfelt thanks. Your content inspired me to finally get around to posting on UA-cam after years of self doubt. I’m sure you will see my work has been heavily influenced by your style 😅
Your videos are....just on another level! Such an inspiration, I really like your style and is actually something that I'm trying to achieve myself. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and keep up the good work and posts, I see a lot of people are really happy to see a new upload from you, as am I!
Amazing photography and cinematography! Thank you for sharing, the new GFX looks amazing and I agree, they should make an XPro “range finder” style again.
Why did I watch this!? Many many years ago my first job as a Pro Photographer was in a studio with a Leaf Digital Camera Back mounted to a Fujifilm medium format body. It was amazing and I have missed medium format digital ever since. There is nothing quite like it and I can't imagine how much better this camera is compared to the old Leaf DCB.
Hands down, the best video editing on UA-cam! I am strictly a photo guy, but your videos make me wish I could shoot and edit videos. Great stuff. I too wish this design language would come over to the X-mount system i.e. APS-C line.
As always, a beautifully produced left-of-field video delivering very good insight on this new camera. "Fight me" - no, you're entitled to that opinion. Colour is subjective. I like Hasselblad's, and not being a videographer, that and a few other reasons led me to go their route, though I do admire too what Fujifilm is doing. And, given your skills, if you are excited about this as a video camera, then there is reason to be. Certainly Fujifilm are delivering a truly versatile platform - the new T/S lenses alone will broaden its appeal.
Everything you do is a work of art. It’s awesome. I want to buy one pack of your presets but I have no idea which one I want. Wish I could just spring for all of them but I can’t really afford that at the moment. Is there a flickr album or somewhere that shows photos edited with each preset from each pack?
Fantastic video as always. Would love to see you do a breakdown of the new Vilttox 27mm f1.2 and Voigtlander 23mm f1.2. Fast and wide Fuji lenses so will no doubt have already peaked your interests.
As usual, this is Porn for the eyes and ears. I'm just an X series amateur stills shooter, but this camera and it's predecessor must be so powerfull that one will never exhaust it's full capabilities. Keep up

Definitely a bit large for a lot of street photography situations, but the image when you do get the shot is stunning
Amazing video, as always! 😉 it was nice meeting you in Stockholm
This is an epic video review/overview, nicely done. Can't believe they added an UNCALIBRATED waveform meter or at least it looks like it from your video? Waveform monitor addition is good but an uncalibrated scale waveform monitor is highly annoying.
I don't even care for GFX100 and will probably never own it but I'm still hyped to see what you came up with this time. Stellar. STELLAR!
You are one of the best UA-camrs working today. Bravo!
You are by far the best camera channel the way you do your videos are one of a kind
this camera was hanging and to restart you need to remove battery. in studio flash sync is the most worthiest in market. big and clampy. bad autofocus. sold ! switched to Hasselblad.
Congrats on getting early access to the camera! So happy for you
Holy shit I love those images, you can immediately tell on first glance that they were taken on a medium format sensor
The most engaging video for a camera I’ve seen ever.
Wow! You got the camera! Fuji really need to make more fast GFX lenses.
Love your production style GxAce. So exciting to create with this powerhouse!
literally NOTHING like seeing seeing a new Gx video come up on your feed.
Hands down, the best video editing on UA-cam! I am strictly a photo guy, but your videos make me wish I could shoot and edit videos. Great stuff. I too wish this design language would come over to the X-mount system i.e. APS-C line.
What a wonderful camera
I haven't even watched yet - I just want to comment how amped I am that you dropped another video!!! And it's about a Fuji!!!
idk but those images look like dreams or memories, realer than reality
GxAce, there is something evil about making me want to buy this camera....EVIIIIIIIIIIILLLLLL
I was expecting Deckard to walk out of the shadows with the film sim and the music. Nice job!
Raising the bar on the first-look genre.
Another masterpiece, thank you Ace for these fantastic productions! Your work is unequaled. Love from South Africa 🇿🇦
I don't think I've seen this guy in a full body shot before, gotta add him to my list of absolute units
When GxAce uploads, i automatically set the video quality 1 or 2 options higher than what i usually choose
For street photography, do you prefer the 24mm or 50mm?
Fantastic video as always. Would love to see you do a breakdown of the new Vilttox 27mm f1.2 and Voigtlander 23mm f1.2. Fast and wide Fuji lenses so will no doubt have already peaked your interests.
As usual, this is Porn for the eyes and ears. I'm just an X series amateur stills shooter, but this camera and it's predecessor must be so powerfull that one will never exhaust it's full capabilities. Keep up
The best video on UA-cam I've see so far.
Another masterpiece documentary for an outstanding camera!
