TRACK! Oh, sorry, just a reflex, lol. That was a nice little switching ops. Both of those locos looked and sounded great. It’s good to do a little ops to make sure it performs the way you planned. You did a really nice job on the track laying, evidenced by the smooth slow speed operation of those trains.
😅🤣😂 A big update is coming Friday and I'm afraid you "trackies" will have some real soul-searching to do...LOL. Thank you for the compliment! It's always a huge sigh of relief when everything actually works operationally after a bunch of construction work. I've never built lift-out sections before and it was especially gratifying to watch the train pass over them with no problem multiple times. We'll see how they hold up over time, but the nice thing about them is if they ever start causing problems, they will be simple to rework or replace since they were made to be removed! The one in front of the window should really never have to be removed barring a broken window so I went ahead and installed rail joiners across those joints which made me breathe a little easier. I can't wait to shoot the construction update and exhibit it Friday for you all!

Nice ops video. So does Union tank car company build new cars. Repair old ones,both? Or what is the purpose of it. Thx
They do both. The facility that I am modeling in El Dorado performs repairs. I am not fully aware of all of their services, but I imagine they also re-paint, re-certify, clean, etc. The three different structures that I eventually will have in place will represent a mechanical shop, a paint shop, and a cleaning shop. The prototype has one large structure with multiple tracks. Due to space considerations (the bane of model railroaders), I had to break it up into three individual structures.
