Im a Star wars fan and do not see it like that. He's saying mfer ill be baCk from the dead soon. Meaning life and addiction had everyone counting him down for the count as dead. So he will be back from the dead soon. He's gonna make a deal with the bad wolf so the bad wolf wont bite no more. Meaning he's gonna get right with himself so his demons that cause him to use dope won't take ahold of him anymore. The hollow moon is the hole on his spirit he's been trying to fill with the things from that lifestyle. The void to no avail.
THE MOON AS THE DOOR TO THE ETERNAL WORLD

So as you can see, ancient peoples believed the soul went to the moon and/or sun at death.
Scientifically speaking, the moon is very suspicious. It is in perfect gravitational lock with the Earth so that its one side always faces us. This was probably the inspiration for the Pink Floyd album Dark Side of the Moon. The other most curious aspect of the moon is that it appears in the sky as the exactly the same size as the Sun. This can be seen during a total eclipse where the moon occults the sun. The reason scientists give us for this phenomenon is that the Sun is approximately four hundred times larger than the moon yet is four hundred times further away. Think about that fact for a minute. What are the odds of that? Isn't it more likely that the moon is the same size as the sun which is much closer to the moon than is reported?

AWOLNATION is pretty much the only band on modern radio that I can actually listen to. All the other bands that they're playing recently makes me want to punch a clown in the face.

megacoolpeoples They're all over the local radio station where I live. It's a Alternative station. I don't listen to it anymore though, since they changed genres to be more of a "Best Current Hits" station. It used to be a lot of heavy metal/metalcore/nu metal, which is what I tend to listen to. This is why I can listen to AWOLNATION, since they're actually relatively somewhat close to what I listen to. It's also why I want to punch a clown if it's any other song, since this station plays a lot of Lorde, Imagine Dragons, Congos, etc.
....I tend to rant when it comes to this subject. This radio station has disappointed me so much though.

To everyone saying "I miss the old sound of AWOLNATION", you clearly didn't listen to Megalithic Symphony in it's entirety. Hollow Moon could easily have fit right in among other tracks on that album, like "Not Your Fault", "Wake Up", or "Guilty Filthy Soul". Personally I love this song and am now even more excited for RUN.

I feel like I'm the only person that truly appreciates the work that went into filming this music video. The fact that the whole video was done in one cut is amazing. With the amount of choreography in this video its hard to pull it off all in one go. One mistake and you gotta restart.

Danielle Mara I heard about Awolnation for the first time this past week. I went to the Prophets Of Rage Concert in Tampa Florida and they opened. They absolutely killed it and now I am a new fan.
lol i went to that concert too, except I went thinking Awolnation were the headliners not the openers lol. I had no idea who prophets of rage were and I was confused when Awolnation got off the stage 😂😂 They were great

I went because I'm a huge rage against the machine fan and when I heard they were joining forces with Chuck D from Public Enemy and B Real from Cypress Hill I had to go. I went to see awol on the 27 of March and I was on the floor. When he came out I was just in awe. My mouth was open and I was barely breathing. I was so amazing. In my opinion, AWOLNATION completely killed it. They were SO much better than fallout boy. Fob was a really pitchy but they put on a good show. But AWOLNATION was raw and wasn't flashy. They stuck to making good music. ❤️

I find this song fascinating. No heavy instrumentation, but suddenly he comes in with those screamed vocals toward the end and somehow it works. Makes the song all the more badass-sounding lol. I'd bet money that he has been a vocalist in a heavy band at some point. It takes some experience to scream like that.
Yes, but it's not something that appealing for a band. Still, at least he's not rapping, or is Harry no-Styles, Ezra or the rest. And the song does better as it goes on. Just a bit startling when you come across them randomly for first time.

I find this song really interesting. It's almost like he's saying that he made the first album, not expecting much fame, but now he's got a huge following who wants more and more from him - so he's making a deal to make a new album after a few years, even though he doesn't ultimately want to. I can assure you mate, that was no cut. We had to run from place to place expediently to be ready for the camera and tripped many times to get it. It was one take but it did take 20 or so of those one takes to get one that looked solid

I first heard this song on the radio. I was early in my recovery from H and going to a lot of AA and NA meetings. I also was fresh out of an abusive, exploitative relationship. at the first glance, i didn't know how deep this music was, but after hearing to her more and more it became clear to me, in the first part, he is referring to a new person, like he is trusting the person, and complaining about his life, and how the other people use him, take advantage of him. So he will make a deal with the bad wolf ( bad people around him ) so the bad wolf dont bite no more ( so they don't use him/mistreat anymore) at the second part, " (You're all still here) " the bad people have not leave him yet, but he will get them out of his life. and he has made a mistake , of letting the people enter his life and ger far away from them (Hollow Moon) ... and the last part he accepted that his whole lifetime he was getting used ...and when he at least wanted those bad people to appear , they came, so he's seeing them like friends of him ( because its almost every friend of him) and the part "Hey, you know I'll run away for a couple years" he's just using it to prove it...and then, he's getting mad and want to burrow away.....

I like it! I've been trying interpret this song but can't seem to figure it out. I agree, it seems to be about being taken advantage of and sort of coming into your own. I think it's kind of like 'Sail' in that way - it seems to me like a feeling of something external making you feel not good enough. So it's like finding a way to rise above that and do the best you personally can. That's how I take it, anyway. I think that might be why the song was first to be released, it has a similar element while being completely different. Your English is fine by the way :)
