As always, great step by step install video. However, I installed these on a 2008 GT300 in the past with terrible results. The bracket in the front immediately pinched and cut the cooling line when I hit a moderate bump. I was sent "updated" front brackets to install by Faco - but ended up with the same unfortunate result. I swore these bars off forever! I assume the front brackets have been redesigned and adjusted since my experience years ago. (FWIW, this was a while back, and didn't seem like an uncommon problem I found online w other owners). The experience STILL burns my britches, so I felt compelled to post/mention it. You can see in the video how close the bracket and hose are in the space. It appears as if the coolant line curves and is better fitted up into the space than what I remember on my 08 GT. They are very nice looking "low profile" crash bars though, definitely helpful preventing minor dings or scratches. I hope the issue I had has been resolved long ago and owners can enjoy this mod problem free.
Same issue with this Faco product. On my vespa gts 2011 I got damaged the water coolant pipe and the transmission air intake cover. The problem is the bracket scratching those parts when the scooter is loaded with 2 passengers. In 2014 decided to remove them. Now I'd learned some welding basics and decided to modify both brackets and proudly sharing it works well. I just had inverted the bracket corner in order to gain some space between the bracket and the bike.
Yeah, they can be a pain when it comes to accessories like this. That's why we sell color matched plug kits to remove them somewhat seamlessly. Thanks for watching!
I'm sure you know this , but I want to tell you that all of your Vespa videos are an invaluable collection to me, and though this is my first scooter ever, I love watching all of the videos just to learn how to do something new that I didn't know how to do before. You are definitely a commodity in the Vespa community and all of us will experience a big loss when you decide to retire!!
Robot, The attaching points seem a little week for a crash bar. The crash bar itself seems rather sturdy but I would think in a crash the attaching points are not strong enough to keep it from collapsing into the body. Perhaps these are more for looks or a minor tip over.
Honestly these are more for aesthetics than anything else. You are correct, they will help prevent scratches in a minor tip over or moving the bike around a tight garage, car doors etc. We've seen that first hand quite often. In any major crash, the bars will probably not offer much protection and your bodywork would suffer regardless if you had them or not. Just another way to dress up your scooter with a little bit of added protection.
WARNING! For people having a akrapovic/polini/malossi aftermarket exhaust: THIS CRASHBAR WILL CRASH WITH THE TIP OF YOUR EXHAUST. I learned this the hard way, making deep scratches on the tip of my exhaust and the crashbar itself. The low backpart of the crashbar is very low and when the supension is working the swingarm together with the exhaust , it will smash into it. Guess I was too stupid to figure this out BEFORE I took a test-ride....😑
Hey Robo I have a 2020 hpe I want to lower the scooter by an 1" as my wife rides every day it's just a little to tall for her she would be more confident if it's little lower any ideas Love your video keep them coming
Thanks for the video. When you mention protecting metal finishes with a silicone spray, would that be the same as a silicone spray lubricant like the one offered by Motorex?
ua-cam.com/video/6g0xSJKBpYU/v-deo.html We will have installation videos on these accessories coming out over the next week. Also go back through our older videos as we have a lot of installs and repairs on the Sprint & Primaveras. Thanks for watching!

Concerning my last coment about the reflectors being a requirement, I just heard you mention that fact at 9:45 into the video. I stand corrected.

@@VespaMotorsport I had the crash bar put on my 2020 GTS 300 hpe, but my reflectors are still on my Scooter

Thanks for sharing this. I have a friend with these on his 2022 GTS, but he's still running the stock exhaust.

Wont fit with akrapovic
If you don't mind you can remove the Akrapovic carbón fiber cap. I did it and it looks not bad.
....OR polini. I found out the hard way....
Robot, why didn't you mention the DOT requirement for that rear reflector in the united states?
I fitted these to my GTS and they burst my coolant pipe when riding.
How did it hit yung coolant pipe? I installed the same and when the suspension moves the bracket and the coolant pipes are not affected.
I want
