    I was told by a former boss that I was too "nice" for management and that I needed to come down hard on my lads to earn their respect. I've long left that job but funnily enough I'm still good friends with the lads I worked with as most of them followed me out the door! If getting to the top means I have to be a ruthless t*** I'd rather stay at the bottom. Great speech.

    I would add a thought to this... one of the biggest problems in modern society is that psychologists have (relatively recently) largely decoded the human brain and what makes us tick. In parallel, technology has developed the means of mass manipulation (through social media). Sadly, stirring up fear (particularly of loss) and anger works particularly well in manipulating people to vote for you or buy your stuff. And social media is extremely effective in targeting those messages at different groups in different ways. Now that we have AI, the production side of this hate factory will ALSO be speeded up. I have come to the conclusion that the ONLY way to counter all this is for people of good conscious to rise up in a determined fashion to be kind, build trust, speak the truth, collaborate, celebrate human progress, and more. We have to start feeding positive energy into the world in a determined fashion. It is literally a war for the future of civilisation.

    • @geofreyr
      @geofreyr 4 місяці тому

      I really don't mean to come across as condescending about your post, but I think the entire thing is basically just a whole lot of innaccurate or false suppositions. For example, you said "psychologists have largely decoded the human brain and what makes us tick?" - No, there's just a whole lot of differing theories on human reasoning and how it works, etc.
      I am interested to hear your view on something though. What type of person would you consider to be the most susceptible to the influences you describe above, if any?

They have denied the pain and suffering caused by school shootings and have lost law suits because of the flagrant slander they've been throwing around. Republicans get hundreds of millions from some of the most harmful industries on the planet tobaco and oil. Republicans have denied the pain and suffering caused by slavery. Republicans have denied the pain and suffering caused by bigotry. They also consistently vote against medical care for all, most voted against the bill to rebuild the crumbling infrastructure in America, and many of them use slander and verbal abuse rather than solid debate and intelligence to get into office. Along with all that, republicans use the Bible as a reason to follow them despite the bible stating that "When you pray, don't be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners" - Matthew 6:5-13.
