A special welcome to new viewers out there. I love my hobby. Hey guys, this is where I'm at! I think this is a great hobby for those of us without the resources (workshop , time and skill). So, they're all better than I could build and fun to perfect.
Hey man! Nice to hear from you. Yeah, me too. The MUSA hit and miss engine is the best built but I think Jin's passion for creating engines shines through to us. And in a wierd way, needing occasional maintenance like refitting big and little conrod ends only adds to the connection, enjoyment, and relationship with the engines, like an old imperfect car. #Okmomodels
Great collection. I think you should have a serious and friendly talk with your good wife about a top of the range display cabinet worthy of your beautiful collection.
Now that is a really good idea, my friend. I am worried the current rickety old free one will collapse and spit 20K of engines on the floor. I'll tell her, "let's beautify the kitchen, Darling :)" I'll start looking
Bonjour Thomas, Your collection is absolutely amazing and huge ! As passionate, I am sure you will go on searching new models to share them with us. I would have needed your help on one of my engines but New Zealand is a little bit far from France. Amicalement, Raphaël
Gidday Raphaël! I forgot my two full size vintage engines, my old compression ignition aero engines and Jin's smallest hit and miss engine. And another Wilesco. I love that you love what I'm doing. It's 49 years since I was in France. Au revoir...as Arnie said "I'll be back..."
Awesome models! I too love model engines and machines and would like to be a part of the model engineering craft someday! It combines every mechanical interest I have into one
I recently got myself a lathe and find I now have enough other basic tools to be able to start to make use of it. It's a bit hard to start by yourself. I wish they'd had metalwork at school. What some of the retired engineers make is amazing...but I'm happy tinkering with what I've got...thanks for the comment!
Heh, heh. Depends what you compare to. Plenty of Kiwi blokes have a boat in the shed that cost more than this collection and gets used less. Or a fancy car. A day's skiing will cost more than many of these. A hunting hobby could cost more...Also, before modern construction in China, one of these model engines might cost 2 to 5 times as much. We live in great times...Thanks for the comment!

All of my OKMO engines are my favourite ones . I feel most connected to and get the most pleasure out of them 👍

Yeah the Microcosm OKMO models are made with Jin's passion for engine types, no doubt, and he continually pushes the hobby
