It's what I grew up doing and I'm going to do it for as long as I can is probably the best choice of words I've heard from you on this channel ever. Awesome
Those are just the best days fishing just walking about trying your luck and finding the target every now and again 😀 love it Spen more of the same please big fella
Coffee most definitely enhances the fishing experience. I enjoyed a nice cup while catching some saugeyes this morning. Always enjoy the content Spencer.
If I ain't watching your videos I'm binge listening to your podcasts while mowing, working, fishing etc. It'd be too cool to book a guide trip with you, gotta start saving or something! Definitely on my lists of things I definitely want to do lol.
Thank you for another very enjoyable video. I get alot of pleasure watching. Also thank you for cleaning up other people's nasty trash. It speaks very well of you.
I love to use slip bobbers. I use them to catch bass and stripers. Large and extra large minnows work great. I love the videos when you use this set up
The channel cats are so much fun. That is what my local lake has the most of as far as catfish go. Summer time rolls around and they get out on the gravel and mud points just like the walleye. So I usually catch a ton of them while walleye fishing. So much fun on a medium light action rod. They absolutely love night crawlers!
It is the time of year for Leppard frogs and creeks like that. Hard to keep them off your hook once you start catching them! We just had a great trip doing it, got tired of catching so many!
Fun video Spencer. I’m waiting for your blooper real. Imagine, a whole video of Spencer falling down muddy banks, falling out of boats, breaking stuff, and knocking over his cooler full of hard won baits. I’m waiting for it.
I learned slip bobbers from a cousin for crappie fishing. Great way to get your bait to the fish. I have also used them in NC mountain streams for trout. Deadly! Good video, Spencer. I recently acquired an 8' light salmon rod that would work well for this technique. Thanks for the lesson. I agree, sometimes you just want to "see what happens". You have some nice channels in your streams.
@@RiverCertified me to man, me to. Been getting my ass kicked by the roof but hope it will yield soon enough. I need to get the nothingbox out for a few hours and relax. Cheers
Watching these videos are bittersweet for me having lost my mobility ten years ago due to spinal cord injury. Used to be my favorite method of fishing😥 already gave up hunting about to do the same with fishing and life altogether. Really bad day.
So nice to see you fishing my favourite way! In England we call it trotting. Also float fishing. It's just that when the river flows it is called " trotting" and we use rods around 12 - 14 foot long. If you ever come across the pond, look me up and I'll show you how we do it here! Nice job Spence, see you over the weekend! 🤓
No M8. Haven't been out for about 7 years since I had 3 strokes and SM a little unsteady on the old pins. You know... But I have been improving slowly and hope to get my rod out in a week or so. I'll keep you posted ! ! ! 🤓
Back in the early 80s I used the same float rig on a brush filled catfish lake on Ft. Benning. Was taught by a good friend to grease the line with Vaseline to make it float rather than sink.
Grew up chasing channels as well, and still do. Confess to have always targeted the sunfish while wading, though, and usually smallies. Never even caught a cat by accident. Fun time, Spencer…thanks for sharing!
We used to float pound and half carp under one liter bottles around brush piles and bridge pilings on the big crick. When they went under they were just gone. Slammed. Dick deep water at sunset is phenomenal 🤠. Love crick wading. Used to do it for bass in southern Mo. Blast. Those was some good eaters😲. Great vid and keep your powder dry and your pantry stocked young man 💪😎🙏
thanks for doing river/bank style fishing. - feel like bank style fishing hard to come by these days on yt only say that because most people will fish just like this, general public lol
I'm going wade fishing in about 15 minutes. Throwing raps for eyes and smallies....might give a look for some fresh chanterelle mushrooms while out there also.
@@RiverCertified kids swimming in a few of my holes but managed a few eater eyes, handful of smallies, one snot rocket, a 12/13 pound channel so ugly I don't think his mom even loves and two baby largemouth that were actually a surprise since they aren't supposed to be in this river. All on #5 shallow shad raps.
Looked like another great time on the water! Some if my best fishing memories are of wade fishing rivers and streams. Keep on keeping on. Thanks again!
@@RiverCertified Ya just loop it thru, and when you pull the line tight it turns half inside out kind of like a figure 8. It 'rolls' up and down the line really easy.
Is that spot you at the start of the video in DSM city limits? That storm sewer that is exposed in the river there is in serious need of repair, and some rip rap apparently.
Im 59 today and still wading and float fishing. Never gets old. Great Video as always. Something about that float going under love it
I turned 50 last month and wade fishing is still my favorite thing to do.
And that's just one of the reason's you're a legend Scott

I have been wanting to try a float from a floating dock. Gf had a Monster that slimed up the line & got away? Turtle?
