It would be unusual for him to hear about deception in a Charismatic church since they are the ones talked about in Timothy that he reads after his comment on deception to being taught in church. They follow a false spirit that tells them to pursue money and self promotion so it is difficult for them to understand deception is what they teach. And they ar far from luke warm in their pursuit of money.

Jesus is talking to the apostles in mathew 24. not people in the future
Dear friend, if you are implying that Jesus was not addressing all of us now, then you are deceived! Read it and can you honestly say that your statement is true? What will be the signs of thy second coming the disciples asked. Jesus then explains..., so how would this make sense if it was just for them? Stop looking for the easy way friend.
So here's my question, when you spoke in tongues what language were you speaking?
Because the new language I believe Jesus was talking about (believers will speak in New tongues) is about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the wonderful works of God. I truly believe that most of what the charismatic churches are doing is barbaric as what Paul addressed to the church of Corinth. If it's a known, language then we would ALL speak it as Christians. It should sound the same. So rolling your tongue around in your mouth and sounding like a barbarian is not speaking in tongues. But most believe that it is. God didn't call us to be pentecostal, or charismatic, or Baptist....these are all man made. We are called to be Christians....'followers of Christ'.
