      That kinda sucks, I get like that when I'm working 12 hour days, 6 days a week on night shift. The day of the week is meaningless and I lose all track. In fact I can only keep count with a count down to my next shift off.

    Anton wouldn't a "random weapon" spawner button be a good addition to the game?
    A function like that in the item spawner would be cool as sometimes with all the choices we get it could help have something quickly ready.

      It would work pretty easily too in theory, in sandbox levels just have infinite tokens from T&H and use the ricky random gun purchasing booth but only the gun option. But it would be a pain to port to old levels

    I don't understand how you put so much effort into everything, and it makes me so happy that I was here early in the development, and to watch this game grow into such a great masterpiece.     I find it really funny that "the" VR gun game is going to have the most realistic doors, at least as far as i've seen. great work Anton never thought it'd be hyped for doors

    Even though I don't have this game yet, it's still so interesting seeing all the behind the scenes tweaking and effort that goes into the smallest things like simply putting a key into a door. Hopefully I can upgrade my computer eventually so I can play this game, right now I just have a quest 2 and my PC can't really handle games. Keep up the amazing work Anton, we all appreciate your passion in your work!

      Upgrade your pc so you can do pcvr, it's worth every penny. Quest 2 is cool, but it's introductory and doesn't have any titles worthy of the real vr experience. Especially for HLA, which is by far the greatest game ever created yet, flat screen and otherwise.
      Also games like Boneworks, H3VR, skyrim vr with mods, walking dead S&S, SW squadrons, project cars 2, msf2020, and more. You won't ever go back to flat screen again.

    400 guns and 350 hours in H3VR for me, and I'm losing my shit over doors.

    The doors make it so that breaching shotguns can have a totally new purpose and having new shell variations (like having a HE shell at the first round and having normal shells the other ones)

    honestly, if we could just make the spam stick to surfaces while still keeping it on remote detonate mode, I'd be fine with that taking the place of a specialized breach charge

    having a devlog every week is a great thing to look forward to, good job on the general consistency!
    it'd be also kind of interesting to see "experimental" weapons ( i.e concepts that aren't entirely fleshed out for a unique weapon ) talked about or implemented in some way even if they never make it into an update
    and have you ever thought of doing another qna or create an faq video for questions you've had been asked more than you can remember?

    Honestly, the SPAAM mine is fun enough that if a version with a sticky back was added so you could attach it to walls or doors, I'd be happy

      You gotta set it to mine mode and then it'll stick to surfaces. I think it's that little black latch looking thing that switches between the two modes, but I haven't messed with it in a while so I'm not entirely sure if I'm remembering right. Mine mode doesn't let you detonate them with the detonator though, the laser has to be tripped for that.

    I hope the larger winter wasteland take and hold will have longer range fights that make the ww2 character more interesting because it won't necessarily be an upgrade to go from a bolt action to a smg. Also the western character will be quite interesting because your guns will really be ineffective at ranges that actually occur

      the western part of this comment made me realize that it probably wouldn't be too hard to make this map desert themed of you changed the trees and the texture from snow and dark rock walls go sand and redish sandstone and what not. would fit that mode pretty well

      Middle East isn't relevant, but desert themed would be cool from an aesthetic point of view, as a nice contrast now that we have snowy fun times. Like the one you showcased a while back when you spoke of us being able to create our own scenarios and such.

    Keys are immediately my favorite item in the game. The second he pulled them out and started jiggling them, human brain shut down, reptile brain took over and said ooooo, jangly.

    Pro tip: if you're on Windows 10, forget the Snipping Tool. It is now built into Windows 10. Just use Windows Key + Shift + S to make all of your screenshots^^

    I have a couple of take and hold map ideas.
    1: Meat Grinder: A takeband hold verson of meat grinder with extra lighting around the place. Caches and system nodes would be in trap rooms (with some traps still around). Also, the voice from this mode is the announcer!
    2: Meat Fortress: get help from the tf2 mapping comunity to design a take and hold map. All system nodes are control points, and caches where usual spawn rooms are! And two announcer suggestions if your intrested, Ellen McClain (voice oc the Administrator from tf2) or the civilian from tf2c.
    3: the wurst west: a wurst world themed map with large sight lines and natural terrain. Would also use towns for both caches and system nodes.
    4: city17: you got Freeman as a take and hold character, why not use city 17 as a map? Using high buildings and streets and the citadel as a land mark.
    5: trenches. Fits the war theme and it would be wwi themed (also, wwi weapons in h3/take and hold?). Trenches would be a maze with no man... I mean, no sosig land would be a deathtrap! System nodes at big areas with flags and bunker as caches. Also, foot steps to get eazy shots into bo man's land.
    I have a few more ideas, but I am writing this 1 in the morning

    Hey Anton, it's hard to tell in the video but real wooden doors aren't a perfect rectangle if viewed from the top. The face of the door that you'd see if you were in position to push the door open is actually 1/8th inch shorter than the side you see if you were in position to pull the door. This creates a very small angle on the latch face of the door and gives room for the corner of the door not to catch your strike plate embedded in the frame before your latch will. Might make your closing of the door more reliable. Awesome video as always!

    Might have to do something about the shouldered RPG rockets sticking forwards into view like they do. Anywho, very interesting progress on the doors, and I eagerly await all the cool combat scenarios they bring.
    EDIT: You can actually see the outline of the VR headset on Anton's face after he hops out of VR. :D

    For explosions, you could maybe add a "size" factor, so if explosion damage equals something like E/D (explosion/distance to centrepoint), it would equal E/(D-S) (explosion/distance - size factor). That'll effectively give you a larger centrepoint to work with, as the explosion doesn't need to reach all the way to the centre before doing maximum damage- you might need to add something to handle when the explosion happens *within* the size radius, but I'm sure that can still be done fairly cheaply.

    This is all super interesting, I like how this can open up all sorts of game ideas. Hope to see levels that let you choose to waste ammo maybe blasting a door down, or maybe go scavenge for the right key, those kinds of scenarios. Something like Rotrw would be made even more interesting with just doors! sweet

    A suggestion: Make the RPG noise less sharp and more spread out. The current sound is more like a recoiless rifle. Can’t wait to see what’s next!

    Hello, I noticed one nit to pick: Nearly all house keyways (at least, in the midwest) are mounted so that the key is inserted with the teeth of the key on the *upward* side. Hence, when picking a lock, one 'lifts' the pins, since it's in an upward direction. So, when holding and inserting the key, the teeth should be on the upward side as well.

    Cool doors, can’t wait until they are placed in scenarios. But, i think the door knobs are too small, out of proportion.
    And super interesting insights into take and hold level designs. The amount of care you are putting into this - alternate reality - is amazing and much appreciated. Hope to see innovations for years to come.

    Love the game, one thing i noticed, when you are shooting either flintlock weapon, if you don't ram the ball down, it still shoots out fine. Ive always been taught shooting muzzleloaders that if you don't properly seat the ball onto the powder, the gun becomes a hand grenade, I would love to see that implemented

      @@AntonHand i did some more research, amd it looks like you are right, or it is at least controversial as to weather or not the gun will burst. I love how much detail you wemt into with the brown bess, and the best part, i can work on not flinching at the flash in the pan and not have to spend an hour deep cleaning the gun afterwards.

    For metal doors, do you think it would be possible to implement more of a deform instead of shattering? Not full mesh deformation, but maybe something could be done with parallax mapping & damage decals.
