The Chauffeur is a synth pop masterpiece and a timeless classic.. Its lyrics are quite poetic as those of many Duran Duran songs are. Duran Duran is beloved by many, but some have never seen the light. They were influenced by The Beatles, Bowie and glam rock and have inspired many of today's great artists like Beck, The Killers and Goldfrapp to name a few. Be sure to check out their 80's videos which were groundbreaking at the time. Start with Rio!
This pressing is the best I've heard this song sound. It's dead quiet and loaded with airy synths and solid bass. It should still sound quite good on UA-cam.
This is a 1982 Japanese pressing copy on a single 33 LP recorded at Air Studios, manufactured by Toshiba EMI.

Fantástico album ❤
Rega rules always has
The Apheta sounds wonderfully clean and controlled. Great stuff! 👌
It’s an incredible cartridge. Near perfect to my ears. Loads of detail and isn’t shrill.
Thanks! Rega does things differently, but it delivers great sound with minimal effort. The Ania Pro is no slouch. I also love the Goldrings. MrVinylObsessive, I appreciate that you set up different carts on the Rega in your videos. Not always easy, but the sounds is always great!
Thanks for commenting. It's a great combo with the P8!
@@33spree Thanks. Yeah, I still like the Goldring Eroica, but the Ania Pro is superior in the bass department, more bass and with more texture, the Eroica is a bit shy on the bass.
By the way, the bass on this track is awesome, I know this record sounds great, but I suppose the Apheta and the P8 have something to do with that, as well.
Gran sonido muy alta calidad, sonido claro bien definido, increíble desde CHILE
Gracias por comentar Realmente lo aprecio. He estado muy contento con el P8 y el Apheta 3. ¡Gran combinación!
👍Super
33 spree - I have your song request (bowie ashes to ashes)
Ooh! Very nice track and upload. Sounds like a lovely pressing (Like at least 90% of the Japanese pressings ;)) Thanks for this. I was looking into that Audient Evo 4 and it seems really nice. Whenever my Focusrite Scarlett breaks i will most likely buy that Evo 4.
Thank you kind sir. I think I'd take this over a re-issue based on my experience with them in general. The vinyl quality is the standout on this particular record. It's nice and quiet. I've heard some lack bass, but that's not the case here. The Evo 4 is not too shabby. I almost got the Scarlett myself. Probably not a huge difference. The higher end Audient interfaces look like a step up, but might be overkill.
@@33spree Thanks for the reply. Somw Japanese pressings lack bass yes, but not most. Yeah i bet they are overkill for this hobby.
Japanese pressings are always superior vinyl
@@djkenry Agreed!
33 spree to Jupiter !
Horrible test record
