The islands lie around 600 miles off the South American Coast almost on the equator, in an archipelago made up of 13 main islands and hundreds of small rocks and isles at the point where two mighty ocean currents converge. A land of astonishing beauty and astounding creatures, which are sometimes blessed by the island's abundance and at other times must fight for resources. Only those who can adapt can make it here.

As someone who worked for Charles Darwin Research Center this was an incredible documentary. Loved it! I worked on Isabella island and lived in a mangrove along with the iguanas. Best experience of my life.

Great documentary. But what about the tortoises, land iguanas, birds beaks, goats on rocks, Galapagos hawks and eagles!!? Also, you did not show the Blue-footed Bobbies dancing in the air with their blue feet for their mate.. In 1971 I visited the Galapagos Islands by boat for 10 days. Exhilarating!!!!

The iguanas are the first species mentioned. The blue-footed Bobby is also in it.
There's around 56 species that live in the archipelago, of which 27 of them are only found in the Galapagos. However, there's only so many you can discuss in a single documentary.
