Canary Islands - Part I: Life at the Limit - Go Wild
Вставка

- Wind and water transported pioneer seeds, insects and animals to the isolated islands. They created the diversity and distribution of life here, with microclimates like the world’s only surviving temperate cloud forests. Animals and plants evolved unique features to survive in these lands. The result is startling encounters with eccentric birds and with majestic whales!

millions of yrs ago the canary islands were part of Africa you can clearly see where they have seperate from the main continent. Like New Zealand to Australia im not even a geoligist and i can see that by simply looking at the map.

This documentary was so beautiful! I am from the Canary Islands, from Tenerife and I am so glad to see the representation of our nature and not just our tourism. So beautiful!
Have you ever seen a Presa canario
That's fascinating. My Great Grandparents were sent to the Dominican Republic from the Canary Islands. Núñez, Soto

This is possibly the best nature documentary I’ve ever had the pleasure to watch. My compliments to the film crew, writers and director.
o peggy -if you enjoyed this one, there's a 2 part Galapagos islands doc (thats wat got me here on this one) that is absolutely outstanding!!! i think it's by tha same folks. u kno u've got tha right one if it begins w/ the galapagos iguana- and u may've already seen it- but if ya haven't u are in 4 a treat XD! may you be blessed with peace and love always and everywhere my friend...
When you don't have the means to get there, these people have dedicated their lives to provide us with the stunning and beautiful scenes of natures. Cudos
What are means?
I have been to Tenerife, to visit my family. I didn't see this side of the islands. It's not for tourists and you will only see this type of nature in a video. Nature thrives there, but it's away from humans. The islands are congested with inhabitants and tourists.
Yeah, but… they also get to love what they do. Paid to do it. I do appreciate as well. Takes patience.
Means is the money, time or way of conveyance; car, boat, airplane

Birds are by far the funniest creatures on Earth 😂😂😂 I had no idea they did this stuff until I was 36 and started watching UA-cam videos
yes! that mating display and the flamenco music to go with it at about 16:50 is hilarious!
Here is to those exceptional wildlife photographers who had to spend day & night w/ an infinite patience in order to procure these brilliant, indelible, & momentous footages at such foreboding, inhospitable, & inaccessible landscapes in the face of some adverse conditions. It may simply exhibit to discern their single-minded determination & unwavering dedication of the professional commitment for their crafts at the level most of us could only dream of. So I can't help doffing my hat to them. In addition, my heartfelt gratitude to the post-production crews such as editors, a script writer, audio men inclusive of the background music, a narrator, etc. who had all contributed to enhance a wealth of intrigue & excitement. Thanks to them all, we could enjoy, admire, & appreciate this one & only sublime doc. at the comfort of our home. From California,,,,(08/18/23)
This beautiful bird has talent can find food and water 💦 survive in the dessert
Photography, music, script and narration are are fantastic! What a treat.
Amazing
Thank you!
Superb cinematography! The ocean blue is magnificent! What a difference with what we normally see of the Canary Islands: mass tourism and lots of concrete.
You see what you want to see. Want to see tourists and concrete, you'll see tourists and concrete.
Thats for tourist that only want get drunk at the pool. Canary Islands are breathtaking paradise of dramatic beauty.

Thank you for this masterpiece. As you explained, one could feel the sounds, air, touch of a wing, even the heat. Aching for a drop of rain, the silly birds who would dance themselves to death, as other fought for the survival of their newborn. The ache of the loss of the newborn whale..... how heart-rending.. No words can express the appreciation felt for such glory created by your team. Bless you.
The father whale carrying his dead baby afloat for days, broke my heart. Parents are so selfless, in their love for children.
Amazing cinematography.
I bet after the rain it's beautiful, unbelievably gorgeous
Not using concepts, the DOC is marvelous...THANKS!!!

the music and the cinematography make it look like a disney movie. Simply amazing!!
not a single disney movie is even close to this
As a child, in the 70s, I remember every Sunday night watching the Disney nature documentaries on TV.
This was better cinematography imho, but yes... my love of nature was surely influenced by early experiences like those shows. 💚
Such a wonderful documentary. Watching from Bangladesh.
excellent cinematography and nature
So proud to be Canarian❤️🌋🏝️
My 2nd great grandparents left the islands, but many of their decendents returned. I was not born there, but I have visited. It's beautiful and I would love to live on these islands, especially Tenerife, but had my mother's parents not leave when they did, I would not be here. I am thankful I can visit my roots.

Hi Randall great story. I’m curious if there are any actual Canary on the islands? I’m asking because I am a tragic Birdnerd🥴also it’s cool your daughter was born there!
Wow Morocco is amazing
Wtf? These islands are far from the continental mainland, therefore, if Morocco claims it, it has no validity, they have always been Spanish and will always be content with Western Sahara.
🤌🥱🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸
@@angelamores9448 I agree they are very far from mainland Spain over 1,000km to be precise but they are only 62 miles from Morocco

must be the oil companies
1, Because they can't buy a condo or a time share there with air conditioning, hot and cold running water and WiFi .
2, Because they can't bum money at intersections and live there for free.
3, Because true beauty and nature is so far removed from their lives that this would be a true Hellscape for them...
Inconceivable. Damaged troll people.
Amazing footage and voice narrator. Thank you for this masterpiece.

I believe this film was originally an Austrian production, translated to English by the Great Narrator, Andrew Solomon...
Why would it need to be translated into English, since that is the language of Australia?

Yes, it's an ORF Universum production and narrated by its then head of natural history unit Andrew Solomon

I've watched numerous ND. but there exist no other documentaries of this sort that could supersede this masterpiece in our planet. period.( I've seen it made by BBC of the UK, NHK of Japan & Nat. "Souls" are a religious concept which, in turn, make people who believe in souls not consider living beings other than people to have souls.

Life is difficult for humans, unless you know how to survive in nature. These animals have it figured out. They were here before us, and will out live us. They will thrive without us, but we can't thrive without them. Humans will extinguish themselves, but nature will return once we are all gone.

Little known fact: the vast majority of Spanish Colonial settlers in the United States - Texas, Alabama, Louisiana, New Mexico, etc - and the vast majority of Hispanics in the U.S. South and South West had and are ancestral bloodlines to the Canary Islands. ... Most of the first Spanish settlers were Canary Islanders.

no!!! they are from Congo!!!
Incredible, what an ancient forest. It's ironic how it survived all this time without us to love, cherish and protect it but now that we are here that is exactly what it will need as well as for us to leave it alone if it is to survive another several million years. What a treasured planet in which we live. It never ceases to amaze and surprise me♡
Come on people we can do it!
Allowing humans near such treaure would be a huge mistake!
These islands 🏝 originally belonged to Morocco and they are part of it's waters/ territory but never allowed any human habitat. Then the Spaniards invaded it, colonised it and turned most of it to land of parties, drunks, sex and fantasy...to today it still the biggest dispute between Morocco and Spain. When Morocco gets back it's colonies, the inhabitants will be relocated to land and these islands will recover to their glory as only the likes of scientists and biologists oceanograp....Will be allowed for limited periods.
@@LondonCarnaval The Canary Islands was inhabited by the indigenous 'Guanche' tribes for the better part of 3500-4000 years, an ancient African culture that never belonged to the Moroccan kingdom. Islam never reached the Canary Islands and they had their own indigenous kingdoms prior to the arrival of the Spanish. The modern day Canary Islander's are the descendants of the indigenous population proven by genetic science and cultural research. I'm afraid to say your Moroccan propaganda is incorrect, we Canary Islander's will be there another 3-4000 years with or without Morocco or Spain. Canary Islanders were there long before Morocco even existed and are a part of some of the oldest genetic groups found in Africa. Viva las islas Canarias!
