  • In this short talk, Esther gives an overview of the Niyamas. The Niyamas describe actions and attitudes that we should cultivate to overcome the illusion of separation and the suffering it causes. The five Niyamas are: purity (Saucha); contentment (Santosa); austerity (Tapas); self-study (Svadhyaya); and devotion to the Lord (Isvara Pranidhana).

Thank you for such a beautiful and succinct description. I have never heard Ishvara Pranidhana described in a way that resonated so much before. I know that the teachings of yoga often unfurl for me so when I come back to different teachings they begin to resonate more and more, but I do feel like this description was especially well done. Thank you. 🥰

At first glance, I thought this was going to be an Eckhart Tolle video haha. A very well explained video, nonetheless ;)

Thanks for making the five so clear! I found this via the five sacred trees that Jesus talked about, and it was very difficult to find this info here about what he actually meant, as all the connections have long since been culturally severed I'm realizing.
