Never realized I needed wider shoes until I got a wide pair by accident. It really makes such a difference, not just in lifting, but in daily life as well.
@@mogwai_ yeah those are cool and all but I mean shoes that resemble Nikes popular brands, adidas, new balance, Reebok, 550s, Air Force ones, Nike pandas, etc

Yeah I'm not sure where you're looking for barefoot shoes but it's very easy to find affordable options. Vivos are spendy but there's tons of other brands that aren't. Xero shoes and Whittins, just to name a couple.
@@hdgrimeyyeah I dunno about the true to size part on those vivos. Especially if you don’t like clown shoes. Own 5 pairs and many other brands and their size variation is terrible amongst even their own shoes.
People confuse wide shoe size with wide toe box shoes. A wide shoe size just increases the width a bit on the ball part of the shoe, not the toe box area. You need to buy shoes with a wide toe box. Just because it’s a wide size, still doesn’t mean it’s right.
I cannot do my leg day without being barefoot. My foot doesn’t function at all if i put shoes on when training leg, no stability and sense of the ground. But when barefoot no problem at all
@@aravindulgent barefoot/socks is probably the best way to lift, but a lot of gyms won’t allow it because of liability (as if a pair of sneakers will do literally anything at all to protect your foot if you drop a plate on it)

You don't need cushioning though, build up strength in your feet and change your gait cycle to land on the forefoot to mid foot with a bent knee, to dissipate energy.
This is my preference, much easier to grip the ground and to feel balanced throughout the foot. I workout in my garage so I use a heated mat to keep my feet warm between sets in the winter.
My toes spent 80 hour weeks up a pole scrunched up, bunions, hammer toe, I am considering methods to spread them out. Most wide toe boxes mean sloppy heel boxes.
Do you distinguish the pronation/Supination movement from the inversion/eversion movement? If yes you mad a mistake saying the narrow toebox causes pronation. It’s actually a supination in the forefoot but a eversion in the lover ankle joint (talo-calcaneo-joint) but I have seen many schools not distinguishing these movements and calling eversion pronation and inversion supination. If that’s what you’ve learned than you are correct but I thing this distinction is important to understand how the foot works.

me too but the opposite experience, got a shoe too narrow and it literally breaks my foot so bad it would make my toe bleed if used too long
Same I got a cheap so and I was like why is this better than my 300 dollar Nikes it was because it was so wide felt primal
Period

Same bro. I really feel uncomfortable training legs with my shoes on.
And that is why i squat in workboots
Converse has chuck taylors in wide sizes if you custom order them online. They’re not 4E wide but wide enough for some!
Hoka slides and brooks for running/gym shoes

What do you think about Brooks 4x wide and Altra wide shoes?
If we’re being real the Vivos are still too narrow and don’t actually allow your toes to ‘spread out’, they just don’t squash them.
Can’t they make wide toe box shoes that are not barefoot shoots I want some cushion for the bottom of my feet
You don't need cushioning though, build up strength in your feet and change your gait cycle to land on the forefoot to mid foot with a bent knee, to dissipate energy.
Is it better to lift barefoot?
Imo yes, helps with mobility and stability functionality but lifting shoes help if you don't have the mobility to go into a deep squat.
It's quite a long shot but you might drop the weights on your feet by accident

@@Jsolitaireif you really drop the weight on your foot, how much of a difference does it really make whether you are barefoot or not?

What in God's name are those socks💀
Barefoot socks
Glove socks, nah but fr I think they're made to let your toes splay and not squeeze them together or sum like that.
Toe socks, I love mine.
Vivos don't feel wide enough for me lol
there is no shoe wide enough for me lol
thank you for daily helps! are barefoot shoes ok for gym and lifting training? it is the sole thick and amortized enough?
Toe socks are great too. Regular socks anyone?
What shoes should I wear for running cause my toes have been hurting
If you like some cushioning but a wide toe box, people recommend Altra.
Makes sense!
This why i squat in socks
Then you shouldve worn a size bigger

Get crocs, they rock
Or man up and lift barefoot 🦶
